Man, the 90's had so many gifted storytellers, and WWE actually gave them the creative freedom to use those abilities. The results were long-term stories with fantastic payoffs. Now, every wrestler has to essentially read promos off scripts approved by Vince. Every now and then they give wrestlers some creative freedom and the results are way better than anything creative comes up with (see Bray Wyatt). The point is, fucking hands off Vince, let your talent do the work for you!

He put himself through HELL and somehow is still humble. Like no Mick, there are people who are gifted careers in the WWE, then there's you, who ripped, tore, and bled his way to the top. I was at this ppv in Market Square Arena way back in October of 96 and I can say the New Rockers did not face the Bushwhackers after the buried alive match. It was The Godwins vs. New Rockers but after that WWE CHAMPION Shawn Michaels faced Goldust. In fact this was the first WWE PPV that did not have the WWE Champ compete on-air and the last time Taker wore his purple attire.

Goldust was also there to help bury the Undertaker. i really liked the Executioner and would have liked to see him more. I thought the Goldust Mankind pairing was very interesting/bizarre/deranged.

You know most people don't realize this but these matches are mostly appropriated to Roman gladiator matches where the underground portion left a lot of mystery as to what was actually going on.

i love how Mick spun this story into 'leverage' for his Hall of Fame induction..."Vince, you made a BOLT OF LIGHTNING come down from the scoreboard, it struck the ground three feet from my left shoe-- you will FIND A WAY(!) to make me FLY, into the sky on a SLEIGH, with SANTA!!"
(...of course, Vince eventually answered with 'it is easier to manipulate indoor weather patterns, than it would be to hoist an ass Your Size into the air...')

i love it how it ends with, 'oh the WWF'. you know what, this kind of weird and wackyness and things you would thing would make sense but doesn't but also does in a way is the reason us WWE fans will always love this show no matter how much they enrage us from time to time.
