- On this first of seven daily videos from on board the brand new Norwegian Prima we got acquainted with our home for the next week. Some parts of embarkation day didn’t go quite as smoothly as we had hoped, but that won’t slow us down - but the benefits of the Premium Plus drink package might. Much of the day was spent exploring what is almost certainly the most modern-looking contemporary cruise ship we’ve ever seen.

Loved the Prima Jerry the CD and Sheree were amazing.. The Roumours band was beyond Great Cant wait to get back on the ship i Sailed December 2022 out of Port Canaveral

You've painted a really good picture of day 1 here - I often find that people must think embarkation day is perfect going by some vlogs - good to see a 'realistic' picture in parts of this video!
It can be a hectic day (same with disembarkation, see my day 7 post linked in the description). Is it always? Nope. I've had some that are buttery smooth - but even when there are bumps in the road I don't let it ruin my day or my cruise. Interestingly, smoothness of the processes aren't always in line with what you'd think. Had a *great* embarkation on Carnival Conquest in June. Meanwhile, while none of my Virgin disembarkations have been bad, I'm still surprised each time that they don't clear with facial recognition. We had a multi-hour delay (weather-related) boarding Oceania once...though they twice opened up the bars to apologize!

Observation lounges were introduced on whatever class of ship the Bliss is. They are awesome. Every ship should have one.
The Bliss lounge seems much larger.
I like Spinnaker on Sky, for example. The space is nice for having some events and such, but in the Caribbean (less so AK), you just don't need that much space. The decor in there is just gorgeous on Prima.

We are about to cruise on the Prima over the Christmas holiday from Galveston, TX - it's our family's first cruise and we're really excited :) Do you know/think they have a white night/party on NCL? Thank you for this really helpful video review!
Thanks for watching! NCL usually does glow parties on their ships. While I can't promise your sailing will have one, I'd expect it (ours is tonight on Encore, actually).

Yep! And they worked way better than most we see...but maybe it's because they don't yet have a ton of salt in them yet ;-)

I had my first sailing on the Norwegian Bliss this passed Spring also out of Miami. The embarkation was strange. For some reason the agent didn’t give me a group number at check in, so I was one the last to get on board, and then a nice security staff came over and asked why I was still sitting, while almost everyone else had already boarded. That made me very nervous. I chalked it up to being a solo senior cruiser. Like you, my room wasn’t ready for a while, and my baggage was delayed as well. Other than that, the cruise was great
How strange! Glad the rest of the trip went well. Embarkation quirks can often happen since the folks working at the port don't work for the cruise line, but more often than not it's smooth sailing.
