Who Goes to Coachella, What Coachella Fans Look Like, How People Mingle at Coachella, How to Get to Coachella and Other Practical Advice About the Festival
so it turns out ... you don't party with 15 victoria secret models, you don't get a hipster fashion marketing contract & you don't get 20 million followers on instagram :(
Orange County unfortunately.. you’re exactly right. Basically it’s a snob fest where the music plays, but the crowd is too busy trying to get famous on their social media accounts because they’re there.
Hit 'em with: "What's Coachella?" Still don't know what it is, but based on these comments, I believe there are better ways to spend $500-$1000 on. Sure this is an "experience," but... Doesn't amuse everyone.
Amy Rick this place sucks. If I wanna walk around I’ll go to Vegas. At least Vegas is more character and lively with different scenery and has somewhere to sit.
Agreed! Why do people act like sheep and just go somewhere just because they think it is "popular" and because celebrities who are paid to attend take photos there? lol......does not seem like it is worth the money whatsoever..........
English festivals are on another level but it's cos everyone's completely and utterly fucked up hahaha the amount of shit i've seen ppl do for the tiniest amount of md is insane

I soooo agree with you!!! I love going to concerts; often go on my own. You don't care about what you are wearing, you've got your seat, the toilets are nice and accessible, no one is pushing you around, no heat, no stench, no dust ... pure music, pure fun.
lol a "concert" with a "chair" to sit in. LMAO. First of all, its called a "concert" to those who barely see 5 "concerts" a year and aren't very music inclined. It's called a show. And a chair? Lollllll, not sure what "concert" you are going to, but don't understand why you need a chair when you go to a show.... you sit down when music is playing? lol damn that sucks
Peep the XXX it’s a whole experience. It’s lively, and all around positive. It’s a dirty place, you’re dirty, and you’re one with the music and it’s environment. If you haven’t gone or if you have and didn’t like it then Coachella is perfect for you.
Daisie true, if anyone wants to invest their money on a festival Coachella is definitely not the best choice, it’s just overrated because celebs show up there a lot and you most likely won’t see any of them in close anyway and if you do they’re usually quite annoyed with “normal” people talking to them or asking for a picture
mooky he’s literally just recording people walking around, hanging out at art installations. Trust me, when you go to Yuma tent, Sahara, and main stage, the energy is unreal
Your Mother’s Lover ok that’s just annoying... some of my favorite artists were there this year including anderson.paak and SOPHIE. Care to explain how they’re not real artists? And supplement wih examples of true artists from years past
Depends. If u go to coachella just for the place the it probably not worth it. But if ure there for your favorite artists then it could be a steal for the price
Agreed! Why do people act like sheep and just go somewhere just because they think it is "popular" and because celebrities who are paid to attend take photos there? lol......does not seem like it is worth the money whatsoever..........
It is really overhyped and so full of hungry attention seekers. I’ve never gone, but I do plan on going atleast once, just to experience it for myself. Bonnaroo every year tho 😊 nothing like it. The people just makes it so much better.
Im lucky. didn't feel down but I do strongly believe thats because it was part of a month long vacation for me, each time. Therefore I didnt have to go right back to regular life afterwards. I had a buffer. BUT my British friends had a very very difficult time, told me it is horrendously depressing coming back to reality. One friend has been to Glastonbury every single year for the last 17 years, he told me after you experience that kind of love/trust & freedom coming back to our real world of . . . . well, the opposite . . . . hits too hard & takes a couple weeks to adjust. He called it "The Bends" (Radiohead nailed it) Im glad you got to go & hope your doing well now :0)
I used to go to these when they were called Raves and were about $20-40. That's really what all this is at this point. What might have started as an all day "music festival" has now become an overpriced 3 day rave just without the glowsticks whistles and beads add overrated celebrities "art" and "fashion" and now you can charge $300 per ticket plus lodging expenses food drinks gas etc. You end up spending between $1000-$1500. For about $500 more dollars you could have actually traveled somewhere nice for a week and done more than sit in the hot desert sun with sand blowing in your face. Don't believe the hype kids!
It’s expensive and deff no woodstock, but I found it less corporate than expected. Not as much massive rules, regulations, fees and BS as you see everywhere else.
You're traveling to the middle of the desert - for most people that's not desired travel destination. However, just for the sake of argument lets say that your goal in life is to go to the desert to have sand blown in your face for 3 days - you can do it for much less money - which was my point. If this concert was being held in a different location - somewhere more desirable then the cost of a $1000 VIP (which is what Coachella charges) ticket would be much more worth it.
Okay an EXPENSIVE trip of sand blown in their faces. These are just dressed up raves with slightly more mainstream music. Putting lipstick on a pig doesn't make it any less of a pig. People don't use the term rave anymore due to the negative connotation associated with the name so once corporations started to invest - they wanted to make it more commercial and now even EDC (which was a huge rave back in the day) is called a "music festival". So my original point still stands.
Thank you. Was looking for some realistic, straightforward coverage like this. Most images out there are very glamorized, so I'm relieved to know I won't have to buy a whole new wardrobe if I go next year. P.S. You only have 3 vids on this channel? You should do more!
i've been to coachella twice (i'm from the uk) and i feel that the festival is really worth going to even if its once in your life. I've been 2016 & 2017, i was a newbie 2016 and drank hella loads and actually spent most of the friday back at the hotel because of heat stroke too. people need to know that weekend2 is a lot hotter than weekend 1 and also there is grass W1 not W2. the bandanas are a really good idea, i used them both years but i still got the coachella cough afterwards but i think that was from the flights too as i get really sick after flying long haul (13 hours to cali) from the air con. also if anyone is thinking about going to coachella, if you're 21+ it is highly recommended to get a wristband to get into the beer gardens, even if you don't wanna drink... the toilets are nicer and also quicker queues too. I usually spend $20 and that gets me a slice of pizza, a beer and a bottle of water which isn't too bad actually if you convert that to UK money as it is roughly the same price to get alcohol and food here. you need to be so careful of the heat because it really does get to you, also worth mentioning that there are free water refill stations!!! also sahara tent is an avoid during the day when the sun is out because its so hot and sweaty in there its the most hottest tent and i've seen people passing out bc of the heat in sahara.
Bonnie THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS ! I'm contemplating going to Weekend 2 this year. I'm from the UK too any tips on where to stay (if not camping) airport transit etc ? Also is it okay to go alone like vibe wise ?
in 2016 i got a hotel included in my flights package but 2017 i got a motel in palm springs near the airport and was a 20 min walk to the shuttle bus. i highly recommend staying in a motel as you wont be in there much so price and luxury doesn't really matter. taxi's from palm springs airport is really cheap. but i recommend getting a shuttle pass as you can go back and forth from the festival anytime of the day! going alone is my best experience, get to know and meet people on the shuttle and everyone is SO NICE, especially if they pick up that you're from the uk! the vibe is so chill and you will meet the best people in the queues and shuttles!
Bonnie Oh right ! Great thank you so much do you have instagram or Twitter I'd like to dm you for specifics if that's okay? my Instagram and Twitter is @tutumukelabai
OMGWTFLOL I think she meant that in the desert it usually increases in heat gradually from the months of April til about September/October so yes even though it's only 7 days apart the weather will most likely be hotter degree wise from one weekend to the next due the climate.
"Celebs" are in the VIP (mostly YT'ers and IG ppl I probably didn't recognize), saw Amanda Stanton and Patrick Mahomes. Also lots of them have artists or all access bands so they go behind and on the side of the stages. They go to Revolve Festival also. Regular people like us can't go there. Ha. @@@jennifervera9912
Wow thanks for the video. No one shows this kinda footage. It's nice to know what really happens as instagram shows a perfect version of life and that's not reality. Thank you for mentioning that all types of people are there because this helps people like me who think they are not worthy of going or ashamed to look people in the face if they were there because of how they look. Instagram makes Cochella seems like a cool kids club for beautiful people.
Is this what happened to hippie camp? this video is kinda sad but like almost aesthetic sad like, one of them "toto by Africa played in an empty mall" videos. I've never been so cringed out to be a white person before.
melly I’m almost 300 lbs (size 20/22) and I’ve never had an issue at festivals. Some fat people are in better shape than skinny people. I climb mountains a couple times a week and frequently do 15-20km hikes no problem. So I agree with the comment under yours, unhealthy people can’t walk much, doesn’t inherently mean fat people though. I have skinny friends more than half my size that can’t keep up with me on easy hikes lol.
I thought coachella was like the amalgamation of all music festivals wrapped into one... but this honestly looks pretty subdued. I went to Osheaga this past summer and it was so much more exciting... I’m kind of shocked 😳
I’ve never been to Coachella and never felt comfortable going. Always thought it was only for gorgeous rich people who are all naked in the desert, but this did give a new perspective on it. Not what I thought it be like. So much more “normal” then I thought.
It definitely isn't worth it! I went to Sziget festival 2 years ago (in Budapest) and I'm going this year too in August and it is way cheaper and sooo much fun. This year I'm going to see Post Malone, the Foo fighters, Ed Sheeran, Florence and the machine, Martin Garrix, 21 pilots, the 1975 and other artists less known but still great! If you buy the tickets in advance you'll spend around €350 for the whole week! When I saw Coachella prices I was so shocked.
OMG PREACCH. Im not even english but still like. i think any festival will beat coachella, no offense things seem really artifical and fake in america. I went to disney in orlando. SO FUCKING BORING. Like deadass didnt enjoy a second of it.
Thank you for posting this. So much more informational and useful than all the superficial daily vlog videos. Please make more on camping and whatever else on the festival.
I find being in Las Vegas is better than just walking around in the middle of nowhere’s plus nothing excites me at coachchella. Coachchella looks pretty boring nothing much to do. Thanks for sharing by the way.
I went to a music festival called Day n Night in California which is relatively smaller than Coachella and cannot even compare in size and popularity but I went for two days and I could not handle it. Luckily it was only a 10 minute drive from my house so I can leave whenever and have the comfort of my own home to sleep in. But it was probably one of my worst experiences because it’s outdoors, super hot, super crowded, and very crappy connection. So I cannot imagine how it’s like to go to a music festival like Coachella. For me personally I think music festivals aren’t really worth it, I’d much rather go to individual concerts.
What people post on their stories and snaps is the most exciting part of anything. It's self promotion. Go to the Super Bowl and you'll wait in lines, travel to Iceland or Bali or any of the coolest places on earth that bloggers post and you'll wait in airports, sweat and deal with logistics. Part of the game. No different with Coachella. This video doesn't show the electric atmosphere dancing in a set, for the reason that there are plenty of other videos about that. And, imho, all the walking and dust breathing makes those moments that much more valuable and amazing because you earned it, unlike the VIP who was just transported there.
I agree with those who say it seems boring. it really does. the festivals I went to always had some kind of entertainment program next to the music (body/henna painting, workshops, poetry slams - just a couple of examples) and there's usually a lot of befriending new people and mingling.
Maybe it’s because I went to Coachella at a peak year when Beyoncé, Eminem etc headlined but I would definitely recommend!!! Really fun experience and very chill vibe if your like me and get anxious with the thoughts of a festival this is perfect for you!
Go weekend one. The grass is fresh, the weather is cooler, and the people tend to dress better because that’s press weekend. Visit the arctic dome, the hp lounge, or the yuma to cool down. Coachella is great if you know how to make it great.
On a side note, your body can only metabolize alcohol so quickly. Running or walking around, sweating, eating or drinking water WILL NOT cause your body to process the alcohol faster. The time it takes varies from person to person, male or female, weight and age. Your metabolism is pretty consistent to you and you can neither lower it or make it higher. If you take one shot, it takes your body about 2 hours to metabolize it, if you take two or three or four, by the fourth shot your body will take 8 hours to metabolize it. Anywhere from 8-12 hours your body will have completely metabolized the alcohol, that's when the hangover kicks in from dehydration.
it looks so much less saturated than the instagram photos lmao
Looks like a lot of people yet....nobody gives 2 fks about Coachella nor goes there
Ok

It’s a fooken desert

Brag fest. People only go to coachella just to say they've been there.
All that stuff actually happens... if you already have 20 million followers.
Depends on if you are actually good looking
Hit 'em with: "What's Coachella?"
Still don't know what it is, but based on these comments, I believe there are better ways to spend $500-$1000 on. Sure this is an "experience," but... Doesn't amuse everyone.

“People don’t really drink much-“
*british festivals have left the chat*
paigestation British festivals are built on alcohol.
Every festival in Europe is built in alcohol and pot
Australian festivals are just drugs and alcohol 😂
Selin Sonmez brits in general are built on alcohol
Polish festivals left as well
"I think there's this misperception that everybody at Coachella is beautiful and has amazing fashion." you didn't have to drag em like dat
Drag who?
Literally my idea of hell.
mine too. horrible heat, nowhere to sit, no tacobell, loud obnoxious music lol definitely
Amy Rick RIGHT
Amy Rick this place sucks. If I wanna walk around I’ll go to Vegas. At least Vegas is more character and lively with different scenery and has somewhere to sit.

dolcegabbanaforever took more words out from my mouth.
$500 bucks to walk, get a cough, and have no place to sit. Hard pass.
You’re giving me bad vibe bros I hope I’m never in the same state as you
Fred Pierce LOL weak ass bitch. Are you schizophrenic or something? You can’t handle the truth? Can’t handle reality? Go live off in Lala land LOL
Walla Ned Jesus Christ man you good??
What's up with people always whining about not getting to sit down? You are at a fucking music festival, why would you be sitting down?
God Fred you sound/seem like a lil bitch I hope I never meet your type of person in real life
This looks so sad compared to music festivals here in the UK
the uk has the best music festivals in the world it's unfair to compare lmao
English festivals are on another level but it's cos everyone's completely and utterly fucked up hahaha the amount of shit i've seen ppl do for the tiniest amount of md is insane
If these people went to Glastonbury they would die lmaoo but like... in a good way
i took my american friends to boomtown last year and they had the best most insane weekend of their life made me so happy haha
lmao leeds fest over this any day
This actually seems like torture

Lmfao I just wheezed all the air out of my lungs.
Then don’t go buddy, it was fucking FUN
So weird how glamorized ppl make it on social media.
I'll take my concerts in a building with a/c and a chair for me to sit on thank you very much

I see this comment and think, "wow Pokemon Go? That's so last year" and then see it posted last year so go figure
Wow - in all honesty, that looks SO boring!!!
Daisie try Bonnaroo if you haven’t gone. I’m sure you’d like it cause the crowd is so much better!
SugarW1thC0ffee not at all my guy 💀

I went a couple of years ago , it wasn’t as I expected . Pretty boring but still had to make the best out of it
Seems like a bunch of average, corny people just walking around.
So true. I thought coachella will be more alive but it isnt.
I had to make it 420 especially since it’s 4/20
🤣
mooky I know right I don’t see what’s the big deal being there? 🤷🏼♀️
mooky he’s literally just recording people walking around, hanging out at art installations. Trust me, when you go to Yuma tent, Sahara, and main stage, the energy is unreal

Your Mother’s Lover although your comment about the people may be true
well knowing the artist that played there I would say it is worth 400
Only people not prepared or too cool to cover their nose/mouth get the coachella cough.
*my anxiety attacks will love it there.*
These are the type of people who would make fun of weaboos for going to cons calling them sweaty and smelly. Yikes
PvnsPttrSkwlkr bruh weaboos would be less sweaty than them if anything, at least comic con is indoors with a/c

most of these concerts are overhyped. Instagram models and narcassistic young adults have ruined everything.
It’s so much fun lol have been going for years!
So did James Charles go through this procedure too??? Cuz Chile!!! With that outfit *sips drink*
Alee Alee there’s separate shuttles for vip lol most people with artist passes don’t even walk
Butt sweat
those poor security guards..

It probably seems like 2 miles in the sun.
it is 2 miles from the uber pickup location.. the shuttle's are closer to the entrance

the stages where the celebs are each one of them
"Celebs" are in the VIP (mostly YT'ers and IG ppl I probably didn't recognize), saw Amanda Stanton and Patrick Mahomes. Also lots of them have artists or all access bands so they go behind and on the side of the stages. They go to Revolve Festival also. Regular people like us can't go there. Ha. @@@jennifervera9912
Looks horrible. Especially when I heard nobody's drunk.
Oh I'm sure lots of people are tripping and rolling all over the place. Gotta watch your step lol
On second thought... I think I’ll pass for this one
thanks for the video lots of help and no screaming no long ass intro just what i wanted to see thanks
Thanks Adrien! Glad you liked it!
Idk why but Cochella just doesn't catch my attention
Just a place for spoiled rich trendy kids
Is this what happened to hippie camp? this video is kinda sad but like almost aesthetic sad like, one of them "toto by Africa played in an empty mall" videos. I've never been so cringed out to be a white person before.
Kyle Bowles lmao I gotta be that person but what does that have to do with race?
I’m pretty sure it’s “Africa” by Toto
This is weekend too which isn’t as exciting
@@samanthajauer8454 lol
Toto by africa
Coachella seems like something i would really only go to once
"no ones really drunk" OKAY BUT PEOPLE ARE REALLY HIGH!!!!
Lol “all body types” ... looks like 1 kind to me!
cuz fat people cant walk that much
melly False, unhealthy people can’t walk a lot 🤗
@@basingse7815 i know lol. thanks for supporting me
melly You’re welcome love
melly I’m almost 300 lbs (size 20/22) and I’ve never had an issue at festivals.
Looks crusty boring and sweaty
Dude I don't wanna go there in a cute outfit and by the time I get to the concert grounds I'm gonna be drenched
I love how everyone is calling it boring, when you can clearly tell this a video only showing the "boring" stuff
Great VIDEO!!! keep everyone safe. Stay HYDRATED!!!
Thank you!!
I love how real this video is, it almost feels like you take us there 😊
“People don’t really drink much"
*Confused in European*
I thought coachella was like the amalgamation of all music festivals wrapped into one... but this honestly looks pretty subdued. I went to Osheaga this past summer and it was so much more exciting... I’m kind of shocked 😳
That would be Woodstock. 😂
I’ve never been to Coachella and never felt comfortable going. Always thought it was only for gorgeous rich people who are all naked in the desert, but this did give a new perspective on it. Not what I thought it be like. So much more “normal” then I thought.

I must applaud you on this very insightful video!
Thanks a lot Breauna!!
You should make more videos like this for other festival's man.
I'm going to try, also for travel. Glad you enjoyed.
love how coachella is really family friendly!!! cant wait to bring my own fam to coachella
It's like a field trip w primary kids...
Now I know for SURE Coachella is not going to be on my bucket list 😂
It feels like I’m observing an ant farm or something lol
Irish and Uk festivals are so much better 😊😊

yesss!!🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yess
Someone said it ❤️❤️😂
I been to Jamaican Carnival and French West indies Carnivals and let me tell you. The shit was soo lit. More than this nonsense
This looks more stressful than fun lol
Go to English festival u will realise what a real festival is 💊💊
OMG PREACCH. Im not even english but still like. i think any festival will beat coachella, no offense things seem really artifical and fake in america. I went to disney in orlando. SO FUCKING BORING. Like deadass didnt enjoy a second of it.
Glastonbury looks x10 better than Coachella and I've never even been to chella
He’ll nah go to EST FEST
BY MGK
Or New Zealand !!
Stacey Grannis lol what, what does New Zealand have to do with anything?
Thankyou ever so much for answering one of life's most mysterious questions. What people look like at Coachella.
Lol always happy to be doing such important things
Yo this guys voice sounds like napoleon dynamite low key love it
aww i loved when he talked about the differnt people and everyone can go to coachella
compared to woodstock 69 no festival will everyone live up. Cause now everyone is to cautious of everything and can never full be free.
I need Google Translate for this one. Luckily broken English is just before regular English on the menu.
How bout Woodstock 99?!?...
Nucky Mancini the 99 Woodstock was all about violence and just not as good as the original
@@aliyahh3754 oh please, the original Woodstock sucked so much ass. Don't believe the hype.
So want to there and I am headed to 70.
So fun with great music in the desert.
Enjoy!!
I felt anxiety and I’m not even in there?! But I’m not bitter i hope everyone enjoyed :) ♥️
Okay but what's that remix around 3:40?
I went to a music festival called Day n Night in California which is relatively smaller than Coachella and cannot even compare in size and popularity but I went for two days and I could not handle it. Luckily it was only a 10 minute drive from my house so I can leave whenever and have the comfort of my own home to sleep in. But it was probably one of my worst experiences because it’s outdoors, super hot, super crowded, and very crappy connection. So I cannot imagine how it’s like to go to a music festival like Coachella. For me personally I think music festivals aren’t really worth it, I’d much rather go to individual concerts.
Reminds me so much of Bonnaroo just with palm trees! Nice to know that they have foot traffic under control there
I really liked the song that played between 2:45-4:05. Anyone know the name?
The original is Porter Robinson- Flicker
It sounds like Madeons Edit, though! Im not 100% on it.
@@gloriaperez7223 Thanks that helped a lot. Found it!

Instagram makes everything look 90% better than what it really does.
Side note - good video.
I had a great time it’s all about who you know
Been to Coachella twice.. It's my favorite Music festival of all time!!
Seal of Approval ™ to you , sir, for this explanatory video !
Glastonbury is where it’s at. People are chill and so fun 🌈

This looks so fun. I got to attend Warped in 2008. Those were the days.
This look like every county fair.
Plus I’m sure drinking makes you more susceptible to dehydration
I agree with those who say it seems boring. it really does. the festivals I went to always had some kind of entertainment program next to the music (body/henna painting, workshops, poetry slams - just a couple of examples) and there's usually a lot of befriending new people and mingling.
all i hear is porter... couldn't focus on your words cause that set in the background 😍
Its refreshing to see the live stream of the artists I like. I'll just attend lalapolooza in Chicago for a fraction of the price!
Have always wanted to go to that one, I’d imagine it’s similar minus the dust.
I was expecting more fashion
didnt u see all the supreme and bape shit lmfao
Maybe it’s because I went to Coachella at a peak year when Beyoncé, Eminem etc headlined but I would definitely recommend!!! Really fun experience and very chill vibe if your like me and get anxious with the thoughts of a festival this is perfect for you!
So do they just walk around aimlessly? Is there someone always performing? What is there to do there exactly?
Take pictures for Instagram.
Go weekend one. The grass is fresh, the weather is cooler, and the people tend to dress better because that’s press weekend. Visit the arctic dome, the hp lounge, or the yuma to cool down. Coachella is great if you know how to make it great.
I’d do ALMOST anything to go see jimi Hemdrix’s at Woodstock 😥😥😥
