    Thank you for posting this. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My wife and I first saw some of your videos about two years ago, with no knowledge that you had a speech impediment. Instead, I remember our discussing how good your voice was, meaning very effective for communicating the content, bringing what you were saying alive, and just being very good to the ear. We both assumed you to have an unusual accent and liked it. What's interesting and maybe of value about this I think is that this is what happens when there is no preconception, when you recognize that you don't know everything and so are open to things that are new to you and take them as they are, instead of, intellectualizing and "knowing" that such-and-such is so and immediately coming to an opinion about it and judging, with the judging really being just your prejudice rather than the reality of what the person is saying or their abilities. Which you brought out here. Great injustices and in fact stupidity of the teachers. (Educated stupidity, being insistent on what you were educated rather than what is real and right in front of you, is maybe one of the worst forms of stupidity.)
    I had a speech impediment myself, a lisp, as a child and thankfully did get a better therapist who did not put me through what yours did, and I wasn't made to trade off anything to have it either so I was able to stick with it until it got a result that most people can't tell. To this day though I actually do not use my tongue the normal way and it doesn't rest in the mouth in what I understand is the normal way either -- in fact I can't even get it to go to the roof of the mouth while most people apparently rest it there normally. Some things maybe can be affected by therapy and work and other things are just the way we are, both for you and me and for a lot of people, maybe everyone in some way or another.
    If I encounter someone, especially a younger person, or a parent with a child with a speech impediment, I would be so glad to share your video, because it's really meaningful. Thank you again.

    I can relate, I grew up with minor learning disabilities. I always hated in elementary school having to go to that very small classroom with several other students to learn, it kind of felt demeaning in a way. I also grew up socially awkward with a lot lot of social anxiety, it sucks!!! I still have anxiety time to time, but thank god I outgrow/overcame the learning disabilities and social awkwardness!!!

    Thank you for releasing this video....even though it was a long time ago. I came across your review of the UnderArmour Kilchis shoes and I just assumed you had an accent I had never heard before. It actually became a quest of mine to figure out where the accent was from which brought me to this video. We live in an unfortunate time where people don't understand or care the damage that is done by saying horrible things to people online. We all have our on impediments in some way and it takes a ton of backbone to talk about it like you do here. Sorry for the crap you have gone through and are still going through but you keep doing you man. Your reviews are good...keep up the good work!

    I found you doing research on brass knuckles for a story I'm writing. Your speech pattern is incredibly unique and I found myself watching more of your videos to really get a handle on on how it sounds. I may write that into a story at some point... as the hero, naturally.

    There's no such thing as a "free education". Somebody is paying for it. In my area public school cost about as much as private schools due to extra fees for everything they can think of. AS far the speech impediment I can relate. I had slots of trouble with my S sounds and went o speech therapy for a couple years till I cried enough about having to go my parents stopped making me. It was embarrassing and I felt like I wasn't as smart as the other kids even though my grades were among the best in my grade. I had a little trouble with my R sounds but not as much and eventually I overcome both (mostly). My son has trouble with his R's still.Self confidence hasn't been an easy thing for me either. Like you I learned to fake it. I faked it a little too much at times to where people knew if they messed with me even a little I was swinging on them. I'm glad you made the video and I hope it made you feel better like it did me. Thanks!

      Six Mile Creek Productions you can say hat about most things in life but you can't deny that a kid can live in complete poverty and still attend public school so comparatively speaking it can be free to the consumer plus the money spent on public schools comes from the government witch is technically not your money. The money comes from you but once you pay it in the form of taxes or lottery tickets you Surrender it and the money no longer belongs to you

    • @Jimlovescock
      @Jimlovescock 6 років тому

      Hissatsu5 the point wasn't that a,a kid in poverty can attend public school anyway. It was that you said it was a free education but somebody has to,pay for that child's education so it's not free at all. Especially with all the fees and extras they add on. Somebody has to pay for those too whether the kids parents do or not.

    • @Hissatsu5
      @Hissatsu5  6 років тому

      Six Mile Creek Productions so your saying because the gov pays for the school not the consumer then it’s not free ? I think public schools can be considered free because the consumers don’t technically pay for it as opposed to private & boarding schools . Just like sams club (grocery store) the consumer doesn’t have to pay for the “free samples” it’s true that someone has to pay for it but the consumer doesn’t have to. So most people in Society consider it free .

      @@Hissatsu5 I'm trying to become a UA-camr to but it's different I can't count how many videos I deleted because of my speech you know.

    • @Hissatsu5

      @@BryerTheGreater1 you know I used to get really defensive and depressed about my speech and the comments I got on UA-cam . I found the best approach is to let them have there joy and say
      “ you know you probably have a lot of things in you life that are going wrong struggles at school ,work or relationships at home & I want you to know if making fun of me brings you a little bit of happiness then I am glad I can help . Just know you’re not insignificant , hang in there I promise it will get better.”
      Saying something like this to your haters shows that your mature in your understanding of your self and the world it takes the wind out from their sails and changes the dynamic in the conversation. If you choose to engage.
      It’s also worth noting that not everyone deserves a response .
      I have been told and called every terrible thing in my UA-cam career, unfortunately because of the keyboard warrior concept people think they can bully anyone because they have no fear of consequences and that’s the world we live in please don’t keep you from living . If you chose to continue with UA-cam I’m sure you will positively influence others.

    Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us. No doubt it can be therapeutic to let these things out. Although it is different I can somewhat relate. When I was in 3rd grade (92-93) I was almost kidnapped.I was not taken seriously by teachers and my parents so I became depressed. I didnt go out alone out of fear and I subsequently gained alot of weight. As you can guess I was picked on for that. I was always ready to fight anybody and that peaked around 8th grade. I dont blame the kids as we were all kinda thoughtless back then. That experience robbed me of my confidence and I didnt realize it until maybe a few years ago. I'm still dealing with this lack of self confidence, but my life is by no means terrible now. I have a family and they are great, but I always wonder where I would've ended up if I had gotten the help I needed at the time. You gotta fake it till you make it. Stay strong, brother, that's all you can do. Keep making these videos and I'll keep watching. Thank you.

    It probably won’t help but I would try keeping the front of your tongue level but raise the beginning of it. I sat her for five minutes molesting my young to figure out it’s shape when saying “are” that’s the best thing I could suggest. Speech therapy shouldn’t be that expensive that’s completely dumb.

    Question for you, if you don't mind me asking? Why didn't your parents fight for you to have a better education? I grew up with minor learning disabilities and if the teachers at my school had refused to teach me because of these learning disabilities, my mom would have lost it. My mom would have went to the school board/school superintendent, written letters to local newspapers ect.. my mom would have had teachers removed and or fired. Why didn't your parents demand to have you put in the dyslexia within your first year or so of elementary school?

    • @Hissatsu5
      @Hissatsu5  6 років тому

      Thomas Connolly but my mom did fight she was at the school almost as much as I was .she eventually put me in a dyslexic program at a privet school but here biggest fear was that the teachers would mistreat me out of retaliation but her but her biggest regrets is she didn’t sue

    • @ThomasConnolly

      That sucks!!! The school system where you grew up must have been really bad, teachers are there to teach and help students not to just dismiss and neglect students with issues. Looking back I was really lucky. Where I grew up in NJ the school system was really good and teachers really cared and tried to do their absolute best to help. By the time I graduated high school I was able to overcome most of my learning disabilities and a lot of my social awkwardness. The way I look at it is that the past is the past, you can't change it. All you can do is just look towards the future and try to improve yourself every day.
