    3:48 Haven't seen any shoe reviewers mention this: The "finger loop" on More Trail v3 also serves the purpose of keeping laces in place. Once you tie the laces, the "finger loop" would be separated into 2 sections. You pull the lower section loose and tuck the laces under. Then you pull the upper section so the lower section of the "finger loop" tightens down and holds the laces securely. Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GTX also has this design.

    Very nice review of these two shoes. I have both of them and see pretty much the same things that you have mentioned. I usuly use my fresh foam more v3 more for training. I found running in the trabuco max2 I have it easier to run faster. Like your noledge

    I tried both on, on normal walking surface, and the NB won in cushioning hands down. The fit was better too, where on the same 10.5 size the Asics felt tight and narrow at the mid-front, the NB was more forgiving and comfortable. The Trabuco didn’t feel any more cushioned than my Speedgoat 5, thus it was returned.

      I got both. Youre missing the most important point.
      The more trail has crap rubber outsole. Some reused budget vibram that is super slippery on wet surfaces.. tread pattern doesnt matter.
      Asicsgrip outsole on the teabuco uses something similar to winter friction car tires. This thing grips on wet rocks and slimy stuff you can find in the woods during fall.
      Both have good cushion imo. More trail is a bit more comfy.

      Shoes are different for everyone. I have had no problem with the NB sole rubber. I actually like it. Totally different types of shoes though. The Asics is designed for more tech trails.

    I run on the New Ballance More Trail V3 Fresh Foam. To me, they are like having monster trucks on your feet on the trail. The 5mm lugs claw up hills and over any terrain. The downhills are handled just as easy as these cloud kickers feel like running on a cushion of air, especially when you're in full gait. The upper does a great job of locking the foot in place, and the heel pocket feels solid. The only beef I have on the vibram outsole is the 5mm lugs on dry rocks and ridge tops can feel like your peeling your foot off of velcro. But a great all round shoe for sure. I give these a 8 out of 10 overall I really enjoy the ride and feel.

    Top vidéo I was struggling to take back the x more as I had some noise from the midsole appearing after 250km. That’s due to the implementation of the lugs on these kinds of lips which create noise after some times. The lips rub against each other making noise. But they are fantastic shoes so I order another pair as my first par has been reimbursed. Let’s see what happen with the new one. I’m weighting 99kg so maybe the origin of the noise. Curious to see if anyone had the same problem.

    • @pushtherun
      @pushtherun  2 місяці тому

      I'm not understanding what you mean by "noise"? What is it that is rubbing together?

    • @pbxl
      @pbxl 2 місяці тому

      @@pushtherun sort of squeaking noise as the ruber from the lips supporting the ‘crampons’/lug rub against each other.

    Awesome review. I am a heavy runner and I loved the Trabuco max 2 for keeping my legs fresh on long trail runs, but I found them a little too squishy on down hills and narrow trail. Would the NB be better for this problem?

    • @pushtherun
      @pushtherun  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, I would say if you like the stack height of the Trabuco Max 2, the NB is a little firmer, but not much. I'm not sure what the narrowness of the trail has to do with how the shoe works? The Hoka Speedgoat 5 is a little shorter stack height, and a tad firmer than the NB. It also has a more aggressive lug system on the outsole. I have a first look video. Take a look at that first. ua-cam.com/video/ec8onjerXgE/v-deo.html

      @markw76 Рік тому

      @@pushtherunWhen the trail is narrow I end up on both sides of the trail which makes the shoes flex more inward and has lead to some pain in the ankles. Edit: I am taking about single track that your feet cannot fit flat on.

    • @pushtherun
      @pushtherun  Рік тому

      @markw76 Gotcha! Yes, the NB would be better for contorted single track trails.

    I have flat feet and I'm quite heavy, I love Forrest running it's relaxing , refreshing and I encounter deer and more in my nearest Forrest, my currenta Hoka speedboat 5 are super but honestly as I run more & more I feel the need of more cushioning.

    • @pbxl
      @pbxl 2 місяці тому +1

      Had the same approach. First speedgoat then NB x more … wouwww why did not jump directly to the NB they are much more confortable. I’m weighting 99 kg ans need cushioning to absorb the impact.

    • @pushtherun

      I think you meant Speedgoat? This shoe is more of a racing shoe. Yes, for training, a bit more cush, mostly on trails, is needed

    Have you tried the Nimbus 25 TR?

    • @pushtherun

      No I have not. On trail shoes, I typically either only get high stack shoes or racing models. The Nimbus I would put in the middle of those.

    Great information, Dave. Wondering how the 'More Trail' would fare if it got more asphalt use than originally intended. I've seen a few other reviewers say that the Asics is fairly comfortable in that type of road situation.

    • @pushtherun
      @pushtherun  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I typically do not wear trail shoes on the road (much), but now that you asked, I guess I'll have to wear them on my shorter runs (7 miles). One of the things I've said is that the lugs on the XMore are so big that they would more than likely feel good on the road. Look out for a YT Short this week on it.

      Thank for watching and commenting. Great Question!!! Let's me know I should do a video on that since I have both. I actually love both the Speedgoat 5 and NB Trail. But, if I had to pick one, I have had better trail racing experience with the NB Trail. I'll actually be wearing them in a 50K in February.

      WOW!!! Super Impressed. If you are walking or hiking that many miles, do yourself and your feet a favor and invest in a good quality or trail shoes if that is what you are wearing. Remember that how your feet are landing will impact how the rest of your body responds. Over that many miles, wearing crappy shoes will catch up to you, your legs, hips, spine, neck and overall mental well-being.
