Ah, a classic DPD moment: drop-pod detonator. You go the whole mission without seeing a single one, dont hear even a single wail, but right as your on you r way to the pod or right next to the damn thing one digs its way up outta the ground to say hello.
There have been 2 separate occasions where a bulk spawned right next to me On a Haz 5 solo Salvage Mission While charging the fuel cells First was Driller in the Fungus Bogs Second was a bit later as Gunner in the Radioactive Exclusion Zone It's funny because right after I failed my mission as Gunner, I equipped the lead bursters incase I happen across another detonator I did the mission again It changed to fungal bogs Lo and behold a Bulk spawned minutes after leaving the pod I ripped it's shit open And proceeded to actually beat that mission
I once was playing one of the haz4 missions to unlock haz5, and I had 3 bulk dets spawn throughout the course of the Industrial Sabotage mission. They surprisingly were of little nuisance. I guess hyper propellant does more than some give it credit for. VERY good anti-boss weapon, can right about 6-shot a hiveguard dreadnought
I had one even more sinister/devious. It was a Doretta mission on Magma. The floor opened up directly under her and out came a bulk like it was straight out of hell. We lost a part because it did an almost instant aoe, but we survived and killed it. I wish i had clipped it but i am a Greybeard on xbox and there have been soooo many crazy/clutch moments. ROCK AND STONE!
Bulks on escort missions are so much more brutal than on any other mission cause their death explosion can single-handedly take out one of the drilldozer's healthbars
0:44 If you see the gourd rumble and somehow assume it's a bulk detonator you have about 3 seconds to react if you react to the bulk detonator that just spawned you have 1 second to react.
Leadbursters are complete dogshit against bulks now since they got hit with a falloff nerf at close range. It’s not even worth running anymore. I basically only use incendiary or stickies now
I had once where one spawned right at the entrance to the final chamber of a mining mission I turn back into the passageway so i can get some distance and lo and behold a second detonator, right behind me
yesterday i was doing a solo mission as engi, and as i was going back to the drop pod a bulk spawnes directly in front of me, i had to maneuver around it into a wider area to rj250 over it and leave lmao
this remionds me when a friend and I were doing a haz 5 point extraction mission and just as we were waiting for the drop pod to open an elite bulk devistator spawned and immediately exploded and killed us, it was very funny at the time.
have had one spawn on 3 of the 4 of our dwarves in a narrow cave on the return countdown of the last stage of a deep dive we survived, thanks to the one survivor
Between Mission Control aiming Late Join pods to the worst possible places and practically getting raidbosses on lower difficulties... I'm starting to wonder what interplanetary goat hired management. (But at least Deep Rock is in the process of getting better equipment soon. R&D sorta dropped the ball not making it pettable though.)

So much stress and so many rounds sprayed into the thing... On the bright side, WE'RE RICH! After I poked around as to what a Crassus Bulk Dett is... Still a nightmare, but the gold haul more than makes up for it.⛏️💰

Haz 4 mission : double det spawn right on my face as i was having a solo gold gathering trip, both time they were litteraly ON me Anyway every time i do a haz4 mission solo i end up with at least 1 det Haz 3 with an unexperienced friend and we always end with a det and we both die
Last time I got a crassus was like 4 months ago, it was in a narrow tunnel, we got a nearly perfect sphere of gold from it, had Pots of Gold beer and the host quit because he fell earlier and said we didnt revive him fast enough.... Still salty.
just yesterday i was running in a digged tunnel at the beginning of a swarm.... worst possible time to have a bulk spawn inside the tunnel (wish i was recording it)
