I just started today and experienced something similar to this in my first mission. Started at Hazard 4 because no other lobbies were on the easier difficulty. Died trying to mine the last few Morkite near the top of the cave by using Engineer and created platforms to a swarm that spawned right next to it by surprise. We already got the Morkite and Drop Pod is called. I told them to just leave me behind because I was at the top of a pillar and getting to me will take too much time. The Scout literally said "haha, no lol" and just grappled all the way to the top, killing all the enemies that were surrounding me and revived me. The Driller also came back and drilled an easy way to the Drop Pod, with the gunner staying near the Drop Pod in case all went to shit. Rock and Stone to those fellow Dwarves.
A game where it doesn't really matter if you die as long as one teammate gets to the end, but everyone tries to get that one guy to the end just cause we "leave no dwarf behind". Pure dwarvern energy. Rock n stone!

I've several times told my friends "just leave without me" and they did because they knew how bad things were, but with internet strangers that may be true.
I wish the community was still this solid, it’s still great but I’ve had a few psycho dwarves kill me as I approach the drop pod, and many just leave me behind to die. I had one dwarf save me beyond all odds recently & it saved my hopes for the game and I still continue to play. Pro tip: never leave a dwarf behind, even if it cost you your life, make an effort so they know you at least tried
I like to blow up my fellow dwarves immediately outside the drop pod, they know they're gonna make it so its good fun. Fun in that I don't feel remorse, maybe less so for them
Engy was like Zuko absorbing the Lightning from Azula that would have killed Aang a 2nd time. Damn fine Goalie-ing from Engy, whether they _meant_ to take that acid to the face or not!
I'll never forget my first DRG mission. As a newbie driller, I (foolishly) tried to tunnel my way to the drop pod, but I ended up getting downed just before I reached the exit. With just a minute left on the clock, some madlad ran back out and tunneled through several feet of rock to revive me, and we made it back with just seconds to spare. That's how I fell in love with this game.
My own No Dwarf Behind story isn't as epic as this but remembering it brings tear to me eye. I was on an Ommoron mission guiding a group of 3 greenbeards (I know, my sense of self preservation isn't working properly) and the game bugged out (as it does) at the end of the encounter and I found myself somehow under the Ommoron crystal rock on my knees unable to feel my beard. As we all know, that damn purple mineral can't be drilled through, blown up and it takes 4 or 5 pickaxe hits to make a dent in it. Told them to just leave me and get to the drop pod. And what did these mad lads do? They painstakingly pickaxed their way to me through the most durable material in the game that isn't indestructible just to leave no dwarf behind :')
My leave no dwarve behind story is even less impressive, me and an engineer were digging a tunnel to drop pod without rocky mountain when a teammate was downed at the entrance of the tunnel with the driller by him so I tried to rescue him but the engineer blocked me so I dug out a side tunnel and the engineer kept on digging I tried to save them but I was downed but the engineer came running back and saved us all and the driller finished the tunnel and we made it with 30 seconds left all while enemies were filling the tunnel. ROCK AND STONE!
As a driller main, I must agree that everyone I’ve ever taught to play driller, I tell them the only true way to use the drills is the save someone as you just did, good job.
Not just that, but the fact that through the power of rock and stone this game has somehow very little trolls and toxic players. It's a fricking miracle of the ore that the public option still exists.
We may be dumb at time but no matter how many times you go down (greenbeard or graybeard) we will constantly keep coming to save you because of a simple phrase "leave no dwarf behind"
I am a Driller main and I can say that I would have done it like the creator of this video did. I would do everything I can to reach the dwarf in need, just to help him. I felt every goddamn second in this video. Thank you for this one.
What keeps me coming back to DRG are moments like this. The rescues, the last minute rushes to the pod, running out of ammo and meleeing a dreadnought to death. The moments where the whole operation is dangling by a thread and you still somehow come out on top.
I've never played this game, but there's just something about a Saving Private Ryan play that ignites a fire in me. I think I'll pick this game up soon. Rock and stone!
I can gladly recommend this game, yeah its 30 bucks but it's well worth it, plus it's still getting updated, also also there's gonna be a new major update on the 28th this month giving us new secondaries that are awesome looking
Nicely done! In stark contrast, I had to suffer an absolutely jerk in my recent game. The drop pod came down in a very inconvenient place; it was half perched in a wide canyon of a cylinder, with its ramp hanging in mid-air with no way to easily get to it. The gunner and I (driller) were stuck down below and down. The scout came and rezzed us. I drilled up to the drop pod along the wall and had to make a leap of faith, and made it. Mr. Gunner was taking a while (I assumed he was behind me, he was not), and I realized he was going back for a supply pod (I assume he didn't have any zip line ammo). Our second driller typed in chat: "JUST die so we can LEAVE!" Well, he didn't, but he got his ammo, came back, made a zip line to get to us. The impatient second driller left as the gunner was coming up the ram and C4'd him back down. I was like "Aw hell no" and jumped out to get him back up. He shouldn't suffer that because of this impatient prick. Well, as I'm rezzing the gunner, he C4's me too. I'm down, so is the gunner. I'm pissed now. So I popped my Iron Will and rezzed the gunner, stormed up the ramp and shot the second driller several times. Wasn't trying to down him, but I wasn't gonna let him win. If I can wait patiently, he can too. Anyway, we evac'd successfully and didn't even get the "you returned while downed" animation thing, whatever it's called. Most people are good on this game, but there are still some freaking jerkbags, man. :/
I know this is not the case in this video, but: The greenhorn scout got told to stay in the pod. His fellow dwarves, with more experience and beard, went back out to save one of their colleagues. While surrounded by the chittering sounds of Glyphids echoing in his steel refuge, he thought to himself: "what is with those old beards about 'leave no dwarves behind'? It's madness! This is my first assignment, and what horrors I have already seen! Giant bugs that can crush you in a single bite. Flying bugs that cruelly grab you and let you drop from great heights. Fire, ice and hazards of any kind. Isn't it better to leave with your own life? I am in just for the paycheck, those old fools be damned!". While the greenbeard made these thoughts, a resounding *BOOM* quaked the earth, shattering it. "Oh great, the driller just coming through. Come on, let's get this over with", thought the scout. And at that point he saw it. The driller, holding the wounded engineer with one hand and shooting fire from his issued CRSPR with the other. The engineer, using his healthy arm to cover the driller blind spots with a shower of micro pellets. And the gunner covering up their back with a storm of lead, keeping at bay a raging tide of bugs. The scout didn't know what was happening inside him. It's almost as if he had an hot sensation inside his very soul. An ember, growing ever more fierce into a raging, bellowing fire for each second. He remembered the tales his grandpa told him, about the spirit of the warriors of old, comrades in arms. He never believed his stories, but he was starting to understand them now. The scout's trembling hands tightened the grip around his rifle; he was on the edge of the Drop Pod's door, a step from safety, but paralyzed by terror. "If I go, what if I die?". While he was hesitating, he saw a particularly nasty bug. Sneaking up on the trio, the Glyphid ignited his flammable sacs, exploding into a ball of fire. The three dwarves fell down to the ground, a dozen meters from the pod. The gunner thought: "Damn, it's over". The scout didn't even realize what happened next. " *FUUUUUCK IIIIIIIT!!!!!!* " His legs were moving on their own. His shout was uneasingly coming out of his mouth. What was he doing? Wasn't all this in contradiction with what he just thought about 'leave no dwarves behind'? Why his chest was burning? Why he couldn't stop? He charged straight at his downed colleagues, his inexperience and trembling hands making his rifle spitting inaccurate fire at the bugs. Strafing on the ground, he took out his flask, and splashed the nano-healing liquid on the gunner. The instructions said it should instantly revive a patient. What happened next was pure confusion to him. He was shooting and roaring back at the skittering tide of bugs, until a hand in a red glove grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back. At the same time, two streams, one of fire and one of lead, passed on his left and right side, respectively. They continued to retreat, pouring death on the Glyphids until the doors of the drop pod closed, and the additional gravity due to the rapid ascent increased. Within his seat, the scout was staring at the floor, still trying to piece together what made him act like that, the burning sensation within his soul hotter than ever. Then, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He saw the face of the driller, with a beaming smile full of dirt and fuel, as he spoke: "That's the spirit, rookie. Rock and stone".
I watched this and immediately bought the game. Glad to report that I just got my first promotion as scout and I'm having an absolute blast. Thanks Nork
Probably come back to this video a dozen and a half times by now just to witness it again, truly raw power. Saw this a few months ago the first time, and one purchase and over 100 hours in the mines later its easily cemented as an all time rock and stone moment for me. Who knows how many fresh new dwarves this clip has inspired to gold greenbeards and glory....

Once I played Driller, me and my team almost had no ammo and no nitra while we still haven't finished 1 mission objective, BIG wave started with lots of Preatorians and Slashers, 2 Wardens and 2 Bulk Detonators on Haz 4 or 5. Our team got knocked down, used Iron Will to revive me but they still got downed and I ran out of ammo defending myself and trying to revive, another (3rd) Bulk Detonator spawned and more bugs. Somehow I got to mine just enough Nitra while repelling bugs with only my pickaxe and drills to get for supply. Ordered supply pod and almost died when resupplying. Killed most of the small enemies and 1 bulk, then revived my team with sliver of health and again without ammo. My team finished rest of the enemies, we barely made it out alive. And hell it was epic asf.
I think it’s safe to say this video was what piqued my curiosity with this game. It only took a few more videos before I finally caved (heh rock joke) and bought it yesterday. I’ve done two missions on my own, and intend to find a group after I’ve done a few more. Thanks for the content, brother. Rock and Stone!

8 months later, I'm a new face, and this is still relatable. Just a dwarf being fuck off somewhere on last 3 mins of extraction, but I was no driller, I'm an engie. Still, I mined through with the tiny pickaxe, and eventually the other 2 dwarves at the drop pod picked up what I was doing and WENT ALL IN ON SAVING THAT ONE GUY. We came out all alive.
One of the greatest moment in DRG was when someone died way in the cave. A scout went to go get him so myself and another engineer posted up 4 turrets and was doing crowd control while he was being retrieved. It felt like an actual action movie. prox mines going off, turrets firing full speed, praetorians and oppressors stomping around. Once out of the thick of it, I'm sure it had to be relieving seeing your team holding the evac.

My first mission in this game i load in as scout, got lost from the team and found myself downed far from the drop pod (as scouts tend to do lol). Just as i sit back and assume the others will evac without me and finish the mission, i see the whole ass team leave the drop pod, fight their way towards me and pick me up, no dwarf left behind. 10/10 community
The thing I love about the game is that people will go out of the way to save you... and it's never clear if they care about you, DRG principles, or just don't want to wait a few extra seconds for take off. After all, the Host could totally boot you right there just to keep things going, but people don't do that. It creates these epic rescue moments at all levels of gameplay and makes a cycle of positive memories.
Bro my friend drew pulled off what you did once, I said "leave without me, it's cool" and he just started drilling a path almost straight down to where I was and yelled "NUH UH, NO DWARF LEFT BEHIND" We both died 👍
I clicked on this thinking it would be a relatively short, unedited clip of a cool save, was pleasantly surprised by the edits. This is the kind of scenario I always dream about when I play deep rock. I haven't got super far into progression and difficulty so it rarely happens but man it's so cool when you're really running against the timer
Could you record your Elite/Deep Dive gameplay when you do it? Honestly I'm just looking for any DRG content at this point and you and your friend are really fun to watch playing DRG.
If you can, use drills to get enemies to run away. You can also strip praetorian armor with drills to make it easier to use the embedded detonators on the subata. Also always aim below single targets with the flamethrower, and try to play the flamethrower like you’re using the Coilgun. Line them up and light them on fire.
0:10 Casual reminder to all you wonderful drillers out there: jump on top of heavily armored bugs while using the drills and you will strip the armor clean off the damn bugs. Very useful in any situation, so long as you aren't overwhelmed by bugs ofc.
These moments are what i really like about DRG. The most adrenaline rushing moment trying to save a fallen dwarf no matter what while time is running up and bugs everywhere. One time there was 3 minutes left and i found the last 8 secondary objective apoca blooms and went down. And no one came to save me :(
No dwarf left behind. I once saved a brother that lost its way and downed. I dig all my way to him while other brothers keep enemies off my back. Everyone safely board the pod with 10sec left. Rock n Stones to all great players
I honestly don't. It might result in people doing disingenuous acts of kindness for the extra resources. A good act should be done because it is the right thing to do, not because you'll make a profit off of it.

God bless em.
That’s the way, rookies. Rock and stone.

What keeps me coming back to DRG are moments like this. The rescues, the last minute rushes to the pod, running out of ammo and meleeing a dreadnought to death. The moments where the whole operation is dangling by a thread and you still somehow come out on top.
I love these "just go without me" "not an option" moments in this game, ROCK AND STONE!

Our second driller typed in chat: "JUST die so we can LEAVE!"
Well, he didn't, but he got his ammo, came back, made a zip line to get to us.
Don't let the knife ears get you down. Rock and Stone
I know this is not the case in this video, but:
The greenhorn scout got told to stay in the pod.
" *FUUUUUCK IIIIIIIT!!!!!!* "
His legs were moving on their own.
He saw the face of the driller, with a beaming smile full of dirt and fuel, as he spoke:
"That's the spirit, rookie. Rock and stone".
Bravo! 👏

I personally have only recently gotten into this game.
But no dwarf left behind is a motto that either you succeed.. or everyone falls.
I very much operate on a "we all make it back or we all die together" mindset in this game

The thing I love about the game is that people will go out of the way to save you... and it's never clear if they care about you, DRG principles, or just don't want to wait a few extra seconds for take off.
After all, the Host could totally boot you right there just to keep things going, but people don't do that.
