Iv got a 206cc 1.6 2004 which has just started grinding gears, the clutch bites right at the top & there's some noise from what sounds like the release bearing. What do u think the chances are that a clutch replacement will cure the gear grinding? Advise much appreciated as the missis won't see it go to the scrap yard 😔
Hi. Great, well explained video. Before I start, can you please let me know if you reckon I need to fit a new clutch? It's a 1.4 petrol. It was used daily without any issues, ever. It was parked up for 6 months. We started engine sometimes,. No issues..starts first time and sweet engine. But now we want to use it, it doesn't want to go in gear. Will go in to any gear with engine off but when you start it, it crawls forward, so clutch is dragging even when pedal fully depressed. Take foot off clutch and it drives fine in that gear. Just can't change gear without ALOT of grinding. Very strange. Not sure if clutch has failed or rusted on? I'd like to have a go at the clutch IF its the answer. Any feedback really appreciated. Thankyou.
