I think Freya and Ravenna's signature colors, gold and silver, symbolize their personalities. The color gold reflects the power of the sun which is invincible. In the film, Ravenna seems to be very strong and hard to defeat. On the other hand, silver means the sensitivity of the moon and Freya is actually living in deep sadness because of losing her daughter.
Colleen Atwood is an exceptional artist. She really has created amazing costumes that a little girl would love to wear and for us the viewers just to admire and be amazed.
