This movie was a very fascinating watch cuz the tone can shift from satire to utter tragedy which come to think of it is actually a nice balance when you think about the actual trauma that the movie focuses on. The cast is nothing short of brilliant. Each give a masterclass in acting. But Natalie in particular has a scene that I think is the best of her career. And Charles Melton, whom I'm never watched before, gives a heartbreaking and nuanced and extraordinary performance. He's the soul of the movie and he brought me to tears. I truly think he deserves an Oscar nod. And the writing has this nice mix of melodrama and satire and a very palpable sadness. Overall, one of the best films I've seen this year.
Charles impressed me the most. The fact that he stood against two Oscar winning actresses and stole the show is a testament of his incredible talent
Which scene did you think is the best for Natalie?
@@ethereallioness definitely the monologue scene where she imitates Julianne’s character! I was in awe
I believe that all three leads gave strong performances. Charles Melton probably has the most likely chance to win the Oscar just because Moore's and Portman's category are so competitive this year, but I hope they get a nomination at least.
✨😍💥🌟🤩🔥🥰💖💖
Natalie and Julianne were great but most critics are raving at Charles' performance and he recently won Gotham Award Best Supporting Actor so he has a big shot in winning
this movie is incredibly well made when it comes to looking at the aftermaths of being a victim of gr00ming. the way Charles Melton portrayed being mentally stuck and still till this day, bowing down to his gr00mer /partner - the way he held his body, you could just SEE trauma sitting within being stored in his body. his posture as well. even his gut. i mean he is usually a very lean guy, but here they let him have a soft belly and a TINY gut and to me, that just was an added layer of how a lot of times trauma is stored in the gut and we have guy issues and stress goes directly to the belly, and that plus bad posture - it was just really well made. the way he cry talked as she turned it all on him saying HE seduced her.... ugh 😭
the way natalie's character used him! she knew he was mentally stuck and therefore all his s3xuel experience was tied to the memory of sneaking around in a dark room, and so natalie tries to do that. in a dark room. AND she says to the casting director that the young talent they cast, wasn't s3xy enough!! he is a KID he is not supposed to be. ... but that was GREAT in showing how the industry pushes this narrative gladly.
i truly hope charles wins all the awards!!! he blew me away.
Charles Melton deserves an Oscar
Natalie Portman deserves around a hundred Oscars for her entire career 💖💥🥰🌟🌟🤩🔥🥳
They won’t give it to him but Ryan Gosling for Barbie..it was great but it’s also a popular choice. Feminism and all that.

Another haunting Todd Haynes masterpiece that stays with you. 👏
Hope this earns multiple Oscar nominations.
Charles Melton gives an astounding performance
Truly outstanding and unforgettable performance from Charles Melton.
Come on, Academy. Would be great to see noms for Haynes, Burke, Portman, and Melton, but especially for Moore-her best performance since Maps to the Stars. Maybe her best ever.
I've watched the film twice now and my admiration for it continues to grow.
Oscar to Natalie Portman
I think Carey Mulligan might have this in the bag for Maestro.
Why?
@@davidlovesfilm Why?
@@davidlovesfilm love Carey performance in Promising Young Woman , just for that I will happy if she wins this time but my horse is Nats May December it’s so unique
@@AlejandroPradoLavin The movie is unique but I don't think her performance is as strong as Carey who embodies chilean Felicia Montenegro or even Emma Stone for Poor Things.
A masterpiece
Teşekkürler
She removed her birthmark on her cheek. 😢 R.I.P., that awesome beauty mark.
Natalie Portman reminds me of Lana Del Rey when she speaks
