Ford Capri 3100 RS Gr.2 - SCREAMING 3.4L GAA V6 at Spa Summer Classic 2024

These two touring car legends absolutely terrorized the Ardennes last weekend. You could literally hear where they were on track at all times which is incredibly impressive on a track as long as Spa and with the many trees and hills in the way of the soundwaves. Of course a video will never be able to fully portray how loud something is but put the volume a little higher than you're comfortable with and you will get a decent impression.
The mighty 3.4 Ford GAA V6's in these machines manage to produce around 450 horsepower and with the car weighing only a touch over 1000kg, the power-to-weight ratio is pretty spectacular for a touring car from the mid-'70s. It might not have much in terms of aerodynamics, the sheer width of the tires makes up for it in mechanical grip surely.

I am too young to have watched these race in period but I will agree they are beautiful. The sheer old school race car presence with the wide arches, low silhouette, ducktail spoiler and then that screaming V6… Stunning!
