Nice review, I call them pruners or snips. I only have some cheapo pruners for now but I would like to get a pair of felco pruners.
Yes exactly we call them seccies, pruners and snips. I highly recomend getting a 'good' quality pair of secateurs. However it really does depend on what pruning you are doing.
@@GardenersbyTrade normally just using around the garden. Cutting some woody twigs but nothing too large.
If that is all you are doing cheapo pruners would be perfect.

Have you tried Felco6? I used to have Felco2 but they were a bit too big for my hand but the six is perfect.
No we have not tried the Felco 6. And yes I agree the Felco 2 are a little larger.
Do you think the Felco 8 is better than the Felco 2?
Tough question to answer. Both are great secateurs. For long use I think the Felco 8 is better. For general use the Felco 2.
FELCO 15 (small hands rotating) or FELCO 12 (medium hands rotating) with rotating pruners I tend to air on the side of sizing down. I find it is easier to adapt to a smaller tool with a rotating handle to start if you are not used to it. This can be an incredible carpal tunnel and fatigue saver if you can get used to them.
Agreed using the right secateurs is far better for you. We are supplied secateurs at our workplace. And often we are unable to get the "right" secateurs. Sometimes the selection is limited.
