At first, it really wasn’t sure. The beginning shot took hours for it to appear. The end shot took 10 minutes… I like to think it was the bowl… but I think it’s just becoming more brave
Just discovered you. Will be watching more/all of your stuff. I've dabbled in wood carving before and want to pick it up again. I have a specific project in mind that I would really like to turn out well. Thanks for putting yourself out there :)
Hello , my name is John from Syracuse NY . Live very close to Adirondacks Mts. I started carving back in the late60’s . Was is USAF stationed in Frankfurt AM . Traveling throughout Germany/ CH Grindelwald ❤️❤️❤️❤️got me started. My area in NY I make / sell Great Lakes region , Finger Lakes 1,000 island region on the boarder with Canada. Love your works. My phrase is “ l make things you don’t know you want”! I use chainsaw , power carvings ( Fordom / mini motor carving , Dremels) I also use chisels / knives . Anything I a put an edge on to do the job. I stumbled on your vidio and am now following.👍👍👍👍👍where are you located?
Cute wee birdy bowl, hope your MIL appreciates it! Wanted to ask- what brand of strop do you use Samuel, and your preferred leather/hide type (kangaroo etc) ? Thank you
Thank you! Good question. To be honest, a well profiled knife should get along with any stop. There are debates that favour expensive kangaroo leather but this is just something I made… a piece of old off-cut leather from a leather tannery in London. Suede side up. I haven’t been too fussy and to has served me well! I’d say that I’d I was to make another, id look to find a piece of leather that isn’t too thick, nor too squishy
Hey man, great and inspiring video! I see that you have a fiskars X7 hachet, I'm thinking of getting one myself, do you recommend it for beginner wood carving purposes?
Hey there! Thanks for you kind words. Im glad you’re enjoying watching along. I only use this hatchet for splitting wood. I wouldn’t use it for carving at all really. For beginners, I recommend a carving axe from Wood Tools. These are well balanced and proportionately designed for carving. 🙏
The way you give closeups of how you move the tools and the grips you use is great. Many thanks.
Thank you. I’m glad you like it. You’re so very welcome. All the best!
Красивая и кропотливая работа! Спасибо, мастер!
I love how the bird couldn’t resist the walnuts once they were being served out of that beautiful bowl :)

So nice to hear!!! Thanks for following along. I am from the UK, living in Czechia
I think you should also list out your tools, and where to buy new versions if yours are not available. Would be kindly appreciated.
That’s a good suggestion. As in provide alternative brands and smiths?
@ yes sir!
@@Chrixelpixel I like the sound of it. I think there could maybe be scope on this channel for it. Do you have a particular tool in mind?

@samuelalexandershapes thanks a lot for the answer!
Fantastic fella, your form and control is spectacular, noticed you need to change your website in your profile goes somewhere random 😂
Thank you very much! This means a lot
Ahh yes it really does. Great spot haha. All fixed thank you
Only people who watch this video should be allowed to own these bowls. They'd then know what they have.
