As a baltimore native Ray Lewis is like the godfather of our city, he played the game to the fullest and made everyone around him elevate their level of play
Him and vick just had that dawg in em. The way Lewis stabbed through the o-line and tackled for a loss and the way vick just beat the defence and bet on himself all the time. To be fair, I would actually have Hernandez, Lewis and Rice if I had to put a team together of true fighters.
Out of all the absolute Greatest players with the RAVENS Rey Lewis Johnathan Ogden and Ed Reed all 3 of them are Hall Of Famers in there own right period 4:40
If by second you mean they played different positions but each was the best at their position, sure. But Ray is second to no one as far as talent. Also, LT didn't call audibles. So I'd argue that Ray was significantly more valuable. Ray was home watching film while LT was partying with cocaine.
@@crossefire01 Lawrence Taylor is is the greatest LB full stop, he didn't need a Tony Siragusa (RIP) or anyone else to occupy blockers for him LT could line up anywhere and run over who was in front of him sack the QB or chase down the RB from sideline to sideline. So what if he didn't call audibles anyone with the Giants starting with both Bill Parcels & Belechieck said he was the undisputed leader of their defence. Do you think opposing OC were primarily worried about who's calling the signals or that uncontrollable force of nature that wreck everything . I'm not excusing or condoning his at best definition controversial lifestyle but I'm just giving the man his credit for what he did on field. Go Hawks
Not just saying this being from Baltimore this man was the greatest middle linebacker to ever play the game somebody out there named someone that's better he was a tackling machine just ask Eddie George or Jerome Bettis he might have been the bus against other teams but going up against 52 the bus turned into a hooptie
I am way biased on Ray being a Browns fan. I thought he wasn't that good honestly, but this has something to do with things he did off the field. Anyway he was a dirty player much like Porter and others from the Steelers. All AFC north teams got away with so much versus the Browns, he was one of the first players since the Steel Curtain of Pittsburgh's players in the 70's. It set the stage for more abuse of Browns players. Dude should have been in prison for off the field stuff, somehow now he is great? Just don't get the love for dirty players, nor how they end up in the Hall of Fame. Did say I am biased.
I'm a Baltimore born Ravens fan but Ray Lewis is not the greatest linebacker of all time. That is Lawrence Taylor by a lot. Ray is probably the greatest middle linebacker of all time but Lawrence Taylor is the greatest defensive player of all time.
@thehalftimeshow not really though. They played two exclusively different roles. Both were integral to their teams. But Ray Lewis made Baltimore one of the best defenses of all time. Lawrence Taylor's defense is never mentioned in that fashion.
@@daddybatz5774 First off, the 86 Giants D is one of the greatest of all time. It's just that the 86 Bears were better so the Giants never get mentioned. And Ray Lewis is not the only factor in either the 2000 or 2006 Ravens. If he were, the 1996 to 2012 Ravens would all be all time great. All of this circumstantial stuff is really nonsense though. Lawrence Taylor was the greatest defensive player to ever play the game, period. And it just so happens that he played linebacker.
Daddybatz said it. Totally agree. LT didn’t play traditional LB the way Ray did. 2 different positions if you ask me, not just roles. LT MIGHT be the best defensive player of all time, if it’s not Ray, but LT played a different LB spot and role. Might as well call it a different position. And 2000 Ravens were the best Def ever. Even if you want to argue the 85 Bears, the Giants arent second.
LT didn't make All Pro playing 4-3 then 3 -4 . Plus being Dpoy in Both 😮! There is only 1 Ray Lewis. More ints Tackles. More multi faceted player. Better in pass defense (could drop in to coverage and int or pass def 2nd to none). He was more than a blitz end. LT was great but 2nd half of his tenure he didn't get home on blitz he wasn't going to have big impact on the game. Ray - Tackles , Force Fumbles, int , sacks , directing other players to the spot. Many defense coordinators got head coaching jobs because of Ray. Marvin Lewis Rex Ryan Mike Nolan Mike Singletary Jack del Rio Chuck Pagano Mike Smith
There will never be another ray lewis because defenders aren’t allowed to defend anymore. 90% of his great plays would be penalties in this soft ass league
Bro, you sound like a Steeler fan. A black man was acquitted by a white jury in 2000 when everyone was screaming that the system was prejudiced against black men. Obviously the evidence was beyond a reasonable doubt....
As a baltimore native Ray Lewis is like the godfather of our city, he played the game to the fullest and made everyone around him elevate their level of play
Hands down best linebacker ever
He is the greatest middle linebacker of all time
The man who genuinely reminds me of Ray is Roquan Smith. That man epitomizes what it means to play like a raven
Man Ray just had that killer instinct
In a couple of ways🤣💯

Idk if both of you guys meant to say these as puns funny as hell lmao
He took lives and didn’t even get put on trial. I guess that makes him even more legendary than the Jucie
Y’all some d bags

AGREED.
T sizzle
Ozzie Newsome’s first two picks, Ogden and Lewis were arguably the two best players at their positions is crazy. Ozzie was the GOAT
No one has come close to Ray, maybe Patrick Willis. But Ray was that man!
PW was special
PW & Ray inspired an entire generation
@@thehalftimeshow definitely he was like a poor man ray Lewis
Ever heard of a guy they call LT?

Ray was beyond special. But dang he stretches the truth whenever he starts telling stories
Lewis beat Middle linebacker and leader of all time. I’m an eagles fan so
Cool

There will never be another Ray Lewis because the NFL doesn't allow defense anymore.

How was he a dirty player? Because of two helmet hits over a 17 year career?
Also, why should he be in prison?

While I don't think Fletcher was as good as Ray, he was really good.
