You need to listen to a studio version of this band's songs before you make a final judgement. The clean vocals are stunning amongst the cacophony of guitars which also contain complexity within chaos. I recommend the song 'Of Fire And Fucking Pig's'. Trust me you'll enjoy it.

Other bands that are kinda similar that you could also check are Akercocke, Voices, The Antichrist Imperium or The Monolith Deathcult.
Of Fire and Fucking Pigs is a great one.
When the Lion Devours Both Dragon and Child, is another great one.. there are SO many.. I love their song titles lol.. like.. "Between Shit and Piss we are Born" LOL. amazing.
Or fine uplifting classics such as "Oil Upon the Sores of Lepers" and "Blood Eagles Carved on the Backs of Innocents" xD

The guitarists voice was probably completely fucked at the end of their set.. cause these guys really scream as brutally and hard as they can lol.. they just go all out.

This band takes time to get used to, believe me, speaking from experience. I still find hard to find the rhythm to some songs and they sound cacophonous to my ears. But they're really good! Just when you get used and understand the nihilistic background, it is just like the best soundtrack for the Apocalypse.
In any case, thanks for doing some Anaal...................................................................................... Nathrakh.

It's the opposite for me. I can easily tell what's going on in their songs, and they seem simple despite being hard-hitting. Immolation is a band I do have a hard time getting into for being complex.

These guys are awesome!! Taking extreme to the next level. I've read that their approach to their music, is to make the listener feel like they're in an all out war.. Relentless!! Good choice..

Duuuudes, Anaal Nathrakh is fucking genius. They got me into the more extreme subgenres of metal. If you can, I highly recommend checking out their album "Desideratum" and at the very least the song (from said album) "The One Thing Needful".
Song and band rules. Maybe 'Hell Is Empty and All the Devils Are Here' is easier for new listeners. Band is certainly good, like a lot of metal it may take some time to get used to. Certainly is heavy shit though haha.

You really need to check out the studio version, if only in your free time. You may still not like it, but you have to experience what this band sounds like in the studio, as I have never heard anything like it from any other band. It is a type of music that is very hard to perform live and still hear all the nuances and intricacies embedded in the chaotic sound that you hear in the studio version.

they are a very good German band
Anaal Nathrakh is honestly one of the best extreme metal bands going. Check out their studio albums. Seeing them live is an absolute privilege and the brutality and extremity of the live performance just doesn't come across in recordings. Of the >100 metal bands I've seen live, they're WAY up the top.

The atmosphere they create is absolutely insane! They are also surprisingly melodic for something that sounds THAT brutal. They have a looot of really catchy melodic riffs and haunting clean vocal chorus parts. I love them ^^
If you want the full Nathrakh experience I suggest you check out their studio albums. They have soo many and every album has some really great and catchy songs on them. They were actually only supposed to be a studio band and never perform live, because they were just 2 dudes who just wanted to make albums, but due to high demand from fans they got them to start performing live a little too.
I know it's a lot to take in... my first reaction to hearing it was like HOLY FUCK WHAT THE FUCK. But then the songs go on and you really really REALLY start digging it a lot the more you listen to them

It is best to listen to a studio version of their material, don't expect to be able to understand what is being "Sung" in the verses of pretty much all of their songs.... That's Extreme Metal for ya. I would recommend checking out "When the Lion Devours both Dragon and Child."
Anaal is something we should all have more off in our lives
The Final Absolution is another amazing song by them. Their sound is often too complex and abrasive to come through clearly in live recordings, unfortunately.

Ya the live recording isn't the best lol.. everything is really audible in the studio versions. Although Anaal Nathrakh will still earrape you pretty damn hard. They have a lot of musical elements and backing tracks etc so it doesn't translate well into a shitty cam recording as they're also playing loud as fuck.. makes everything really distorted and hard to hear

Lol, what a video. I listened to that song couple of years ago (I think when it came out). I really love the chorus, but everything else is just making the song bad. I simply cannot enjoy the vocals and guitar (the bridge got a "okay-guitar" part). The sound is a little bit better on the studio version, still weird.

Also they are have a lot of similar chaotic songs with operalike chorus. Forging Towards The Sunset is OK, but my favorite is Joystream and More Of Fire Than Blood.
