The water pump is not inside on the 2006. It's a conventional exterior bolt-on pump down low to the back on the left side of the engine (looking at it from the front). Timing chain or worn chain tensioner guides would make it rattle and clatter like crazy, especially on start-up, not the noise you are complaining about inside the car. Dirty throttle body clap could explain some of it. 212,000+ miles is a lot for the CVT and transfer case. Are both fluids full and does the CVT fluid look clean or is it black and burned?
My nissan murano stopped on freway then i turn it off 5 minutes on the side and then started ok, took me home. But it was like it lost strength I had gas the air filter clean but i stepped on gas and it would not run. I dont know what it could be I was hoping to get an answer from this video.
I got the same issue first it was the fuel pump replaced it, then it was fine suddenly stopped on me went to limp mode turns out it was the power steering pressure switch swapped it and the power steering pump thennnn it said camshaft position sensor b1 swapped it then it said b2 swapped it still the same. Ive noticed whenever i drive it the next day its fine but after a while of driving it goes to limp mode and the only way to turn it on is to give it a bit of gas and whenever i put it in drive or reverse the car jerks hard as shit. Sounds like the cat is plugged. That could cause the noise and drivability problems. If it was the CVT, you wouldn't have the issue just revving the engine.
Mine started to sound really loud when I accelerate and it shakes it starts almost sounding like if it was canmed and gets pretty loud do u think that my cat could be plugged and it not getting enough air ? It kinda sound like a lot of air coming out when I accelerate

@@kennethsimmonds8537 it’s hard to say what’s really happening. You need to scan the car. See if you got any codes coming back. If no codes, it could be the fuel issue. Mine is having a bad fuel pump.
I can't believe nobody has mentioned either cleaning or replacing either the PVC valve or mass air flow sensor... Or that the back three spark plugs are an serious bitch to get to and the intake manifold has to be removed to access them... That being said most people never replace them and you could have a fouled plug and or the ignition coils could be weak or bad... I can't believe that people dont start with the least expensive thing and diagnose them or replace them first... PS if you do decide to take off the intake manifold do not mess with the throttle body by moving it as they can get out of alignment of the internal gear and miss calibrate it cause serious problems. 🙃
Dang this comment is by far the best; thank you so much for your insight and knowledge with this engine, I have 34 cars and did not look into this one yet, but I will, just recently I had other cars I was working on like my 2 BMWs a mini and a Range Rover plus working on Chrysler 300, but this is all my hobby projects that’s why it’s taking me a while, due to also driving for Uber and lyft and that takes most of my time
The whining is the steering pump. The bearings are rubbing. Check the fluid but the other problems. Ahh get rid of it. I had a beautiful 2014 maxima and after 112k miles the cvt was messing up really bad. I spent so much money trying to fix it. I was able to sell it for $4900. That could be the spark plug needing replaced. Almost sounds like it's not getting air. Check the sport mode and see if it's stuck in 6th gear while driving. If it is, then it's the cvt. But theirs so much that it could be. Maybe the person that had it, never changed the oil and so it plugged up the valves. I would take the manifold off and see if that's the case but check the spark plugs, check the cvt fluid, the air filter maybe it's the fuel pump. The cats in those should burn all the carbon as it gets hot so I never heard of needing to replace those. That car sounds like it's not firing some of the cylinders even though it would of set the check engine light. Also if the cats were clogged that would set the check engine light because theirs sensors behind the cats. A shop might scam you into replacing the intake and cats when it's a simple fix.
