Yall pray for my man Berkut, ain't nothing wrong with him he just losing his mind. Footage from: / @pheonixmaster1 Fi... pay me to record something for you; www.fiverr.com...
He's one of- if not the- best villain we've gotten since Arvis. Everything about him- his voice acting, his development, his downfall- made him the most memorable character in Echoes.
He's voiced by the sweet sounds of Ian Sinclair. It's hard not to man crush. Also Berkut's themes are easily some of the best and they live up to the original Gaiden ost.
Absolutely my favorite character in Fire Emblem. Its really hard to think that he's an original character that wasn't in the original Gaiden game. He was implemented so well into the plot so well and IS did it so perfectly.
Berkut is one of the best characters to come from current Fire Emblem. The best way I could describe him is like the antithesis to Prince Xander; he's selfish, arrogant, only looks out for himself, and when confronted by the main hero in a battle of strength and ideals, he was so confident in his ability to win that he never once considered what to do when he lost. So when he lost, it hit him hard. His mental break in Rigel was his defining moment for me. He would be willing to do *_anything_* to win. Even sacrifice his future wife, the one thing that Alm could never in a million years bring himself to do. Much like Fernand, there's no perceivable way that Berkut would join your team, despite how human he was. His only reprieve is in death, however quick it may be.
I honestly wasnt expecting to like berkut as much as i did. Hes def one of my favorite SoV characters. And to think his whole arc was original and fit so well into the framework that Gaiden had. Really hope we get remakes of FE4 and FE5 that are as good as SoV was
English voice so good that even though his "Fallen" alt in heroes didn't layer his voice with Duma's like the JP dub did, it's arguably better without the effect
11:29 One of my favorite things about this scene is that it's really ambigous if this was the real Rinea or an halucination that Berkut had before his death. Because theoratically her soul/life had been taken by Duma so it would be impossible for her to be with Berkut in his final moments but maybe some of her soul was saved because Berkut really love her so in the end he could not bring himself to discard her. And the dialogue only adds to this mistery because you could interpret that now she understand why she failed to save Berkut from despair and in his last moments is making him rest in peace but you could also interpret that is Berkut putting his wishes and thoughts on Rinea's mounth.
A little detail some may have missed. Rudolf doesn't want Berkut to fight, but not for the reason he claims. Rudolf really just knows Alm is going to win and he loves Berkut enough to make sure he's out of the warpath of his son.
Idk why but i always had the impression that it wasn’t just an “I want the world or nothing” what drove him to wanting the crown, I think in part of it was for rinea´s sake. In her memory prism she states that she is from a lesser house. So I think he wanted to make her an empress so no one could ever look down on her, so he lost it because he was never going to becoming emperor in the first place o all the struggle he was put to was meaningless. Or smth like that idk
I can't tell you how much the fact that he and Rinea really didn't have to die annoys me. But even after sacrificing Rinea I can't bring myslef to hate him. He just always vibed well with me, though I usually do have an easier time with liking antagonists over heroes for whatever reason even if I vehemently disagree with them.
Berkut is probably one of the best FE villains, though I also really like Arvis as a main villain and Ishtar and Reinhardt as secondary villains. Genealogy probably has the strongest villain cast.
I also absolutely loved his role in the forging bonds event if Fire Emblem Heroes where you get to find his more wise yet damned soul searching endlessly for his love.
Ahhhh yes fire emblem Goro. It always nice to take down character that think they are hot shit. Also who went batshit crazy better? Goro or Berkut? -Jk they both equally really good-
Great video. Loved berkut despite some misgivings I have with his character (mostly stemming from Rinea) but Ian Sinclair provides such a moving and stellar performance that its impossible not to love him.
I always knew you were a man of culture Fither. Yeah Berkut's pretty based. Though I still feel super bad for Rinea. She would get along well with Ishtar from FE4, those two can relate over their insane angry boyfriends. While Ian Sinclair is damn good as Berkut, I think an honorable mention needs to be paid to his JP voice when he's possessed by Duma, as they have Duma's voice overlapping with his and it nails the unsettling vibe perfectly. Give it a listen when you have the chance, if you haven't.
Berkut isnt just one of the best Fire Emblem villains or one of the best FE characters period. He is a great character period. I know its something of a meme to say this. But his character arc IS Shakespearean. Either that or Classical. Just. The story of man of high station brought low and hollowed out by his pride consuming him from the inside out and the destruction of his beloved in a mad grasp for power to justify his pride. It may be an old tale often told but its done for a reason. Pride is a consuming fire that eats you from within and always wants another sacrifice
I love Berkut but he's neither my favorite FE villain nor my favorite Echoes character. For the record my favorite villain is Arvis and my favorite Echoes character is Sonya
Honestly, Berkut made the story for me. Without him, Alm side of the story would have just been nothing. A boring march north filled with predictability and forgettable villains. I was kinda shocked to learn that he wasn't even in the original.
Berkut is one of my favorite villains! Probably the reason SoV is my favorite FE game. Have you heard Fallen Berkut’s line’s from Heroes yet? They are some of the best voice acted lines in the game imo.
I enjoyed him but I see so many people that are genuinely upset and angry that Berkut gets away with killing the person he supposedly loved without any consequences, and that rinea was there to be a kicked puppy.
Vegeta is different from berkut because vegeta was subordinate to Frieza he was already humbled and after finding out what destroyed planet vegeta, vegeta goes about making the next generation of saiyajins he shrugged off the whole Frieza destroying Vegeta. Berkut has for many years thought that he was in line for Rigel His empire dreams crumbled with alm
you know what Alm will never have that Berkut has? An ominous harpsichord theme in the background whenever he waltzs in. Also his waifu is better than Celica.
Speaking of despair, you should do a video about what would happen in you put Junko in the Warhammer 40k universe. Look into it, it's A LOT more interesting than you would think. Let's just say Nurgle and Tzeetch would have a field day.

Berkut was an instant man crush. And a great villain for me.

Wow did NOT expect this from you. Really love Berkut, one of my favorite characters. Its awesome seeing your opinion on him is as positive as mine
Berkut was one of my favorite additions Echoes made to Gaiden
Gotta love the symbology of berkut breaking the mirror being a metaphor of his broke ego for accepting the power of duma
I love Fire Emblem Goro
(But no seriously, Berkut is fantastic)
Alm: "BERKUT, YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO DESTROYTHE SITH, NOT JOIN THEM!! WE WERE COUSINS, BASICALLY BROTHERS!!"

I fucking love how you get so into characters and settings and worlds, it's captivating even when it's about something I don't really know.
Yeah, this guy! Honestly, probably one of the more well written fire emblem villains from the 3DS era.
As i came to this channel through persona, i never expected to have a see a deep dive on one of my favorite villains ever

Ian Sinclair nailed every line.
Ian Sinclair is the goat and he kills it with one of my favorite fe villains (tied with Black Knight)

I enjoyed playing Echoes. It's so far my favorite Fire Emblem game with Awakening right behind it.
Raw
Gonna be honest when berkut speak I think I hear some asura
Berkut was more tolerable than the other villains, but Rudolph probably shouldn't have led him along...
I forgot how good FE Echoes was. It's a pity that barely anyone played it.
I need to know man. How would p5 characters fare as dads
Thoughts on Punished "Venom" Dimitri, a man denied his kingdom?
Would you guys considering starting a Patreon? I would totally subscribe to that.
I don’t want to ruin it, but wow, a video with 0 dislikes
will Berkut show up in the fither games?
Sorry he ain’t in the (TV Tropes) Pantheon
Please do more FE content
Fo shame fither, bri ging up Ian Sinclair and not mentioning space dandy
