For the third fight, the team that lost Bucky, could have, instead of retreating, pusht even harder to potentially force more Ults. As they had only used 2 in the last fight, every Ult more from the enemy would be a bonus. As the point/fight has a high chance of losing anyway. Then they could come back with an, or a bigger, Ultimate-Advantage. Mostly called a Dry-Push. Where you don't use Ults, while forcing the enemy to potentially use his. Sometimes Teams do it even when holding point and being full, cus they know they are in an Ult disadvantage and could lose the next fight anyway. When retreating from a good Pos to a bad Pos there is a higher chance of getting disorganized, instead of forward. Cus you don't see behind you and where everybody is going and you can't always turn, like as tank. Except with a very high level of communication. They also could have done, the same tactic, after respawning. Just lose more time this way, but they have it with 78%-0%. Edit: They even did a semi Dry-Push, they only tipped the toe in to force enemy Ults out, with only one Ult. This Thor-play with the Ult was a bit too overextended for normal circumstances. Especially since in S0 he wasn't immune. They lost this fight, have now better chances in the war. This was a big win for them, not "something went wrong". I would even go to say Red played very poorly in this fight. Using 4 Ults almost instantly, at the same time, for a Bait.
What's crazy even In GM ppl are still calling out to "stay on point" "defending" (especially domination). Here 1min and you already know that's not what you should. Which is another Strat. The deeper you push to their side, if you lose this fight, the enemy team has still to walk and take the point/cart. Where you could still contest (going for a retake) after spawning again. All depends on factors.
Hey, 3k+ hour ow player here. I'm impressed by how much you know considering you came from apex. This one and your more basic 3 lanes concept was shared to a couple friends new to hero shooter games. Keep it up!
thank you so much for this breakdown. this is the kind of content I'm looking for, so much low quality rivals content is being pumped on UA-cam, you are a diamond in the rough with these deep analysis
5:05 Another thing I wanna add here is that bucky not only has good cover and has thw cover to its left side, but also is positioned with basically instant acces to 2 healpacks next to him, so you can also take some chip dmg here if needed against that comp since they dont have a hawkeye like burst dps on the enemy team. Great video btw so far🙏🏼🍀 as an esports coach that mived on to just make content on a very casual game that has no real comp scene that is so refreshing to watch rn, reminds me of the good old days😊 makes me a bit nostalgic
Can you make a video where you focus a lot on healer positioning and decision making? Really great video, I don't even grind Rivals like that (maybe yet) and it was super interesting learning your perspective on things. Keep it up!
Every competitive game has some similarities to chess. It’s all about waiting to capitalize off of a mistake and reviewing the options to make the best decision in the moment.
In a pro setting, makes sense why they struggle. But even here, they are looking for someone to make a mistake. In regular games the mistakes are through the roof to capitalize on.
Exactly. It’s called duelist not dps for a reason. They’re meant to go and pick 1v1s on squishy, but half the time they just end up spamming damage into a crowd with no real focus. Saying “I did 20k damage” because a mf focused a tank getting pocketed the whole game 😂
It really depends on the hero though. If they're playing psylocke, hella, Black panther then they absolutely should be. Something like bucky though you should play close with the team grappling the enemy into your team displacing them for easy picks. It's all nuanced of course.
@ idc who it is tbh because even as Scarlet Witch at times I’ll push backline and cause chaos so I can drop a healer at least. Even Bucky can take angles and at least pop off at them.
This was way better put together than other vod reviews I’ve seen of any game, I liked there being a specific aspect of gameplay that the review is focused on and showing good examples of it from multiple perspectives/players 🙂↕️
Love these types of videos. More fundamental, conceptual viewing of the game through a zoomed out lens. I prefer longer videos, and I think there is a niche for that kind of marvels content that you can fill. Keep it up man
Unironically the best breakdown I’ve seen. I’ve been looking for videos on team positioning and I usually get just breakdowns of where you should be but not any videos on how to apply that logic in a team setting when things are popping off all around you. Thanks for the content man super informative.
So, 2 things. 1: love the help and insight in this video! Really appreciate it. 2: What i appreciate MORE is that you used the background music to Echo the Dolphin from the Sega Genesis during the intro. Mad props.
See i have always been a dps. Masters in OW1, high ranked in mostly every shooter.(diamond sup and tank as well) But i told myself im going to tank only for rivals, and its been so fun destroying people 😂 being aware of what my dps are wanting to do helps so much. Understanding you have to help your supports when they get dove. Tank is awesome.
I’m new to hero shooters, so this kind of content is so helpful in learning the bigger picture of the game. It’s easy to get caught up in learning how to play individual units, but at the end of the day, it’s a team effort.
I really like this. my peak was gm1 with one game off eternity in s0. And unlike other competetive games i nver vod reviewed until marvel rivals. It really helped me watching my pov to see mistakes but im also watching the winner team what they did correct. This really helped me push from dia1 to gm1. In higher ranks most people have the mechanical skill but lack in fundamentals like positioning, timing, coordination thats why they cannot jump from gm to eternity.
This is exactly what I was looking for, a real time breakdown of positioning and timing. I hope you make more videos like this because it makes the lessons more practical I think each time you mention stacking or positioning, the bird's eye view might be the most helpful to show that vs the floating cam which is better for showing the ults, dives, etc. I would love a similar video talking about flanking and how to split up groups
16:27 or you can just say: luna & mantis ultimate can be both defensive & oppressive at the same time, depends on the situation and how team use it. both has similarity, mobile damage mitigation. Meanwhile for rocket, not only his ultimate can only be oppressive, but also rocket's ulti is locked to the place means there is no option for repositioning.
Replay analysis is so difficult to do, as a beginner, so videos like this are invaluable. I would absolutely watch an hour+ video like this. Also, great music choices 👍
This was great content, as a bucky main, it was especially helpful. Something you could add on the future: looking at all the roles of the specific fight and what each role is doing correctly or incorrectly to impact the fight. Not just what worked.
So beyond stoked to see you making content for MR. Love your videos man! This is such great insight on team play and positioning, thanks so much for this!
I appreciate and understand the fact that the game is very new and analytical content isn't going to be necessarily understanding every play perfectly, but i really wanna focus on fight #4 there because as you talk about the fight, it seems you see it as a failure for blue team with some "redeeming qualities" so to say, while in reality the opposite is true. The moment thor pops ult he's looking for a response, and based on that response they can decide whether or not they wanna continue committing to the fight. When the enemy team instantly used 3 ults, and slightly later a 4th, they understand that the engagement was won as long as they didnt commit their own ults. At that point they're in a position where they can afford to let the timer tick down a bit and they'd rather fight a clean 5 ults vs 1-2 ults than an even exchange, so they call a wipe and go for the next push with a massive advantage. Still, cool content, hope you keep it up :D
This is actually amazing for people aspiring to become better players. Maybe do some for how to play around your team as a solo player. It would really help for those who are climbing the ranks
such a great video, this was so helpful to someone who is trying to get better at hero shooters. Thank you. please make more. from all classes and different scenarios you think are common
Been following you since before you were doing Apex sponsored videos. I love your strat breakdown videos. I'm new to hero shooters. This is super helpful. Keep it up man.
Please post more replay analysis, it was really fun watching. This helped fundamentals more than anything for me and especially maybe new players as well.
Excellent . This si what I need to learn to play MR. For people never was good on shooters. Is todo hard to me me, I am doing My Best. Please do more tutorials like this. Tnx!
Amazing video. I'm new to the game and never played any hero shooters before. This kind of breakdown really helps to understand strategy and positioning.
Wasn’t expecting this video on marvel rivals! I love your videos and the way you breakdown and give the best explanations to a given situation ❤ Keep it up, I do miss apex but iv been loving marvel rivals so new and fresh
This was very good info about team fights, but given the title I was expecting more about positioning. I watched a video about positioning, implemented some stuff, but it wasn’t a very good video and someone in game told me to learn more about positioning. I never really know where to stand as a healer. Like half the games when I’m defending on a cap then push map I same to my friends “idk where to stand on this map” because no matter where I stand it seems like it causes problems.
Try this video, its a great lead into this one - ua-cam.com/video/YJjyQsZJvnY/v-deo.html Let me know what you think. I mean how they position as a team is really key :)
Its more a team issue, but also who is available to do it. But also support need to be able to freeze and stall for their team. They have utility to stun them and do damage so their dps or tank can clean up. I think the issue is "focus". People get caught up in their 1v1s when it should be a team oriented action to get a first pick or find a weakness. This is similar in Apex Legends or any BR, goal is to find the weak spot.
Great video. One improvement, I think, would be to explain what "stalling" means. This video, and your others about Marvel Rivals, does a great job at making complex things digestible for beginners. But I would think that that term isn't known, or obvious to deduce, for many. This game is drawing in a lot of players that are new, or largely new, to the genre. So such more advanced terms are also new to them.
@@Dazs That's great! Also, if I recall correctly, you've also mentioned "staggering" in this video or another one. That's also a term I think a notable percentage of people watching these might not know.
Great video! Ill be re-watching for sure. As a strategist im trying to figure out positioning so i can see tm8's, pick off opposing supports, and be there for ult saves. Love your content keep it up! ❤ also if you could make a guide for maps that would be awesome!! (knowing general spots for high ground, natural cover, push/pull spots, backline routes)
What I want to know, is if there's a way to display these player lists in the top corners in live gameplay (even if its just for my own team). Because I struggle to read the killfeed accurately mid-combat, and lose track of how much of my team is still up
My Penny Main play is just brilliant. My Egg is down before you’ve blinked. I’ve Laid the traps. I get grabbed I zip out of danger. I’m just not playing ranked on Console against PC.
I'm curious why the punisher keeping high ground at the end is a bad play. I know he separates from the team leaving it a 5v6, but he has a vantage over the point. If he'd lived a bit longer or taken out the Luna couldn't it have made the difference? Going further wasn't red team in a bad position regardless as grouping up left them very vulnerable to the bucky ult. I peaked at plat so sorry if these are stupidly obvious questions.
Honoured sealed their fate when they used 4 ults to counter act the thor's ult. Leaving them with less resources. Their Peni should've saved the ult since too many ults had already gone off and it wouldn't make sense to secure a win with another ult when punisher, Luna, and rocket already popped. If they had communicated about popping ult i'm sure they wouldn't have ult dumped for one round. D2W took advantage of that and ult dump for the last coming fight and victory was already determined from there on
Leave a like if you want more! :) Marvel Rivals Season 1 is out, and its time to improve and get better for new ranked season!

The Marvel Rivals community need more of this kind of content. I'd watch +1h long videos like this one, keep up the great work!
he got comfortable with apex, this is his bread n butter
This is the gold standard of informative content. Not flashy, no rambling, just pure analysis and great perspectives.

I had the realization today that this game is kinda like chess.
This was a great breakdown.
Facts. A good player is like having a queen but a bad player is like having a feeder pwn
Every competitive game has some similarities to chess. It’s all about waiting to capitalize off of a mistake and reviewing the options to make the best decision in the moment.
The EXACT content I've been looking for. Beautiful! Keep it up, boss
Need DPS to learn how to flank. It’s the most annoying thing as the tank that I’m dropping the healers more than they are.

by far the most informative video on marvel rivals that i have ever seen, followed right behind ur tanking video

Great vid Dazs, learned a lot about proper position
Been following you since before you were doing Apex sponsored videos. I love your strat breakdown videos. I'm new to hero shooters. This is super helpful. Keep it up man.
Also would love some videos focused on the different roles. Strategiest, Vanguard, and DPS, but also the different strats within each role.
Please post more replay analysis, it was really fun watching. This helped fundamentals more than anything for me and especially maybe new players as well.
@@Goose_FGC check out newest one on tanking :) spectated the tanks on concepts on what they did! :)
One of the best MR videos ive seen, keep this up man.
Please make more videos like this, its truly the only way i learn and become better

Nice analysis 👍

Loved this thx

I have a question for @dazs. Who job do you think it is to peel for support?
I’m always confused by this? Is this a dps issue or a tank issue?
Its more a team issue, but also who is available to do it. But also support need to be able to freeze and stall for their team. They have utility to stun them and do damage so their dps or tank can clean up. I think the issue is "focus". People get caught up in their 1v1s when it should be a team oriented action to get a first pick or find a weakness.
This is similar in Apex Legends or any BR, goal is to find the weak spot.
love it thanks for doing Marvel Rivals gameplay and not just Apex
Enjoying doing both for sure! :)
great work , now i need a 1 hour video
Very insightful content. Hope to see more.
