    Very good review. I got the "gold" version on Amazon. I figured most of my multitools are silver so why not got for gold? The tool is as you described and some use will make it more smooth to operate. The steel is not the best out there but then again these are in the $60 range and not $150. Still would like to have a better steel than 7CR for the main blade. It will be very useable however and a great tool for the car or general use without breaking the bank.

    This is a surge clone! This is superior due to the screw driver and bits. Been going through your videos. Keep up the amazing work!

      Thank you and I am happy to have been able to help. This tool is not widely reviewed on UA-cam so I was happy to contribute to that.

    Thanks for the video. I have now also ordered this tool. The Leatherman is just too expensive for me. I'm curious. Many greetings from Sauerland (Germany). You have a subscription.

      Indeed. And compared to the price, you really cannot beat it vs the Leatherman. Thanks for watching.

    Milwaukee fastback, is my everyday carry, it's just lighter, simpler, durable, and a lot cheaper. I have the Bibury, it's great, but it's a pain to open, heavy, and do I really need a filer? scissor? or even a plier? Not really. But, the size of it and the variety of tools, gives all the tools the needed power to execute serious tasks. So, I keep it for emergency or backup.

    The shank ends (where they connect to the tool) on the spare saw blades look like common t-shank on many jigsaw blades. Is that correct? And is the file shank end also a T-shank? That would increase it's versatility by a lot.
    Also, Guru, have you tried hex bits without the ball to hold the bit in the socket? How do they work? That would also increase its versatility - I could add extended bits and make this a more capable tool kit.

    • @universalguru171
      @universalguru171  2 місяці тому

      As far as the bits without the ball, from my understanding it wont hold because there is no magnet. The Gerber Armbar (also on the channel) has a magnet so that would accommodate that. As far as the T-shanks, I will try to do some research but I believe all the accessory pieces in the removable saw is considered a t-shank but I am just not that versed in tools on that level to fully know the difference.

    Great review I have been on the fence regards getting one but after watching this review it will certainly be on my list ps on a lighter note regards your finger nails didn’t your mother get on to you like mine did from bandages to gloves and a few more oh happy days 🤣😂🤣

      Its a great choice indeed. As far as the nails... lol, I have had a long standing addiction to cutting them. I do not bite them but I have a nail clipper everywhere. It is part of my EDC (though I would never show that in a video, lol). Thanks for watching.

    Unfortunately the scissors do not work and seems like yours were not working either because they close but don't reopen. I am very disappointed that they don't work, surprised you did not pick up on that.

    • @universalguru171
      @universalguru171  6 місяців тому +1

      They do actually work on mine. They do open back up. I apologize I did not really demonstrate this but you can see when i full deployed the scissors, they opened. When begin the process of retracting them, the tension immediately release and that is what you seen demonstrated. I hope this helped.

      @@universalguru171 yes and no because mine is not working at all, will send it back to Amazon, just not sure if I want to risk another dud. I have a couple of Gerber's and 3 Leatherman, I was hoping for a reasonably priced alternative, going to have to think on it. But thanks for letting me know.

    How long is the warranty on these

    • @universalguru171
      @universalguru171  24 дні тому

      to be honest with you, I am not sure. This does not come with any instructions at all. So there is nothing on the box that says about a warranty. That is the weak point of these things. But I can tell you this, I recently sent in my Leatherman Wingman for servicing through the Warranty to fix the fact the pliers came defective (they do not fully close) and my knife was a little damage from use. It cost $10 to send it in. 1/3 the cost of one of these tools and that is one of Leatherman's cheaper made tools. So even without a warranty, I believe it is well worth the purchase. It does say on the box that the service team can be contacted for help through their email. So I am guessing there is some aspect of a warranty.
