      Are you a child or a grown man? Seriously, no one is giving Wayne crap about Jack stands, only commenting from a safety perspective. My cousin lost her boyfriend because the jack failed without supports so it's a real concern, so grown up. Everyone appreciates the work he does because this is about to save me $550. I personally use ramps

    Just watched one of your oil changing videos, you are jacked up my friend to tell folks to get under a vehicle that is only supported by hydraulic jack. Always use jack stands or block to the frame…if you lose hydraulic pressure or your neighbor comes by & releases your floor jack you will be dead meat..Just keeping it real..Stay safe..

    So, after you put the car down, there was no to much extra oil to drain? In other words, it is really necessary to lower the car ?

      You can do whatever you want with your comfort level. It depends on the person changing the oil.

    Wayne, 1 more Engine oil type question。 The owners manual states that the oil should be MB approval 229.51. The only oil meet this requirement is Mobile 1 ESP 5-30. Any thoughts or experience on the subject?

    • @WayneARobertson
      @WayneARobertson  Рік тому +1

      If you want to remove any doubt. The best place to buy the oil is at the dealership after you give them the make, model and year of your car and or, maybe the VIN number. You can never go wrong, If your not at the dealership, In my book as long as it is Mobile 1 Synthetic your good,

      I think found the answer, This is direct form MBUSA "Mercedes-Benz is the first manufacturer to opt for the large-scale use of particulate filters for petrol engines to further improve their environmental compatibility. After more than two years of positive experience in the field with the S 500, in 2017 further S-Class variants will be equipped with the new M 256 and M 176 petrol engines with this technology. The filter will then be gradually introduced in other new vehicle models, facelifted models and new engine generations, such as the M 264. After that, use of the particulate filter is also planned for the current model series."
      This is why the use of ESP oil and thus the MB approval 229.52

    Thanks for sharing great video, wow no more oil dipstick and plastic oil drain plug, Do you recommend buying one? The S560 price are falling big time for 2018-2020。 But I am not sure about all the electronics

    • @WayneARobertson
      @WayneARobertson  Рік тому +1

      I do recommend buying the 2018 S560 model because their has been significant enhancement over the previous model such as the 2016 S550 which I had earlier. I highly recommend you get a model with the warranty or extended warranty when you do make a purchase. If you have deep pockets and don't care about warranty or extended warranty buy the model anyway. Do your best to get a low mileage and if you could afford the 2019 model, go ahead. I do not like the new computer screen in middle of the cabin which comes in the latest model and will stay away from that model until they change the interior to something more pleasing. Hope this helps!!!!

      My friend I am inspired by you. Just bought a 2020 S560 RWD with 13000 miles and Excellent price from a Authorized Dealer from Nashiville。 Just drove the 700 miles back。 2 yrs warranty left plus 1yr CPO. The driving experience was excellent however very harsh ride quality when go through rough road surface。 Maybe the tire or the suspension。 Just like to ask you some input before I go to the dealer。 Thanks

      @@jameslully6764 More than likely it is the run flat tires which are stiff because of the sidewall. If you switch all 4 tires to non run flat tires you will probably get a smoother ride. I do highly recommend if you have warranty on the car, to take advantage of it because once it runs out you will pay out of pocket. It will not hurt to get the car check out on the Mercedes diagnostic. If you do not want to go to the dealership change the DRIVE MODE to COMFORT and then switch to non run flat tires to see if it make any difference.

    I just returned from the dealer and the oil drain plug was actually metal, not plastic. I wonder if yours was bc its a 4matic. I only have 2300 miles on my oil and oil filter in one year so I'm going to leave the oil filter in.

    • @WayneARobertson
      @WayneARobertson  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes, I can buy a metal drain plug if I want but I will keep it. The dealership told me I can re-use it. Yes, I have a 4matic and when I bought my car it only had 23K miles on it as well.

    I have the same 2018 s560.
    FWIW, At 24:37 you state that 229.5 is the same as 229.52. I do not believe this is correct. Mercedes does have a 229.5, 229.51 and 229.52 oil specs in that 229.5x series. They are all different. How different? I don't know.
    The cars computer is asking specifically for either 229.52 or 229.61. If you go to mercedes fluid's website, in there you can see that they are requiring/recommending 229.52 specifically. 229.5 is for older cars.
    Now - how much does it matter? I don't know.
    As for the plastic drain plug, mercedes also sells a metal replacement drain plug. When I took my car in they replaced the plastic plug with a metal one. I'm not sure of the part number. Nor do I know if it is any better or not. I believe I had read online that they went back to a metal plug because in some cars the plastic plugs were leaking.
