ENG: Don't let anyone tell you songs like this are easy on bass. Songs like Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill (a Deal with God)", which feature very little change throughout, require concentration as well as precision and stamina.
Having played it with finger-picking for a while, I switched to a pick after seeing a live version and noticing Kate Bush's bass player used one. I instantly liked it; thought it gave it more teeth.
Of course, this song blew up thanks to Stranger Things, and yes, I'm a fan!
Excellent Pook. Love the percussion of the pick sound. Great to see this tune blowing up due to Stranger Things and being discovered by the next generation.
Thank you so much, man! Yes, once I saw Kate Bush's bass player using a pick I though that made all the sense in the world. Pick + octaver = all the 80s moody goodness.
Cheers, Les!
Great cover. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you, Constantine!
I thought that in the original version the bassline just kept on pedaling on C...? Anyway the version you're playing makes way more sense! Great job
It certainly does (as far as I can tell, too)! I've seen a few bass players -- including Kate Bush's own, when live -- playing around the chords a little. I think the thought that staying on a single note throughout is boring is universal :D
Nice interpretation: Do you use an octaver pedal?
Very good man !! It's cool to hear the bass louder on this tune , it increases the drive !! study playing !!!
Thank you so much, man!
Great work Patricio, that was awesome man 😀🤘🎵🔥🔥🔥🔥
thank you, my friend
This is how it should be! the actual song is just the bass on the tonic the entire time while the chords change around it.
Indeed. Glad you like this little variation!
amazing play bro. A lovely music s2
Thank you, sir!
Awesome!
Thank you!
What does the d mean on the tabs
I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean. Can you put a time stamp on it, or do you mean the whole song?
