What is it with You Tube video makers and the music they insert into their videos? Often, it sounds like music made by a evil scientist who hates people, hiding out in some abandoned factory in the wastelands of Detroit, Mich. It's such a misery to experience the music these guys choose. They seem to think it lends a professional touch to the video. They don't understand that it's an annoyance to the viewer who has to deal with it each time they click on a video. The viewer has to bother with clicking the mute button and search where, in the video, the music stops and the information begins. But in some videos, the music never stops. Ahhhhhh....... And it's so pathetic realizing that the video maker probably searched for just the right piece of music for his video, thinking it rescues the video from be boring. Information is not boring, and these video makers might best have confidence in the viewer who clicked on the video because they are eager for information, not annoying music.
What is it with people on the internet, enjoying free content that someone else put effort in. What is it with people on UA-cam expecting professional grade content from some amateur that does shit for a hobby. What is it with people being offended by having to put up with someone elses creative decisions...man I get you, people on the internet suck :D
@@woodandstuff - Thank you for your insight, but my complaint is that the amateur is trying to be professional, and it is his downfall. Just put out the information and stop torturing the viewer with extremely bad music. This is called feed back from the public. Do you imply that all feedback should only be positive? If the video makers are making a mistake, we should not inform them of the mistake?
Me again! Thanks again for this video. Quite helpful. Ended up getting a vise very similar in size, appearance and function to yours. This was helpful!
thanks a lot, seems very helpfull; I am waiting for mine already ordered!! this is the very best tool for the woodworker; I like very much your jaws from a raw peace of wood!
Picking the appropriate woodwork plans is a decisive step to stay away from failure, so be certain to grab the ones that are prepared by professionals.
+Matilda Burkitt I constructed this workbench myself and hey: failures are there to learn from :D (regarding the screws for fixating the vise: I calculated for shearing and bending and those screws are really oversized lol)
2:04, bothers me that the end of the face of the vise is not flush with both sides. Guessing you weren't able to mount that plate to the opposite side of what supports it without losing some inches on your vise. Different strokes for different folks..
Excellent job with the install and overall production. Looks like a vise they sell at Lee Valley...thinking of getting one. I assume this is the largest version 10-1/2".
+Darryl Stevens Hi! Its a no.53ED from a company called York and yes, it was the biggest model they had. I got it at: www.feinewerkzeuge.de/schraub.html thx for the comment!
Thank you very much for sharing , I have one question please what to do if my vise is small and its height is much less than the thickness of the bench ? any ideas ? thanks
Is it the same design as my vise? You could try to in-set the whole thing from the bottom. Or you could just leave it on the lower plane of your workbench and add jaws with the appropriate height. Thanks for the comment!
Just watched a video from Paul Sellers that has a lot of good reasons not to flush mount your vise to your bench. This kind of vise was never intended to be flush mounted.
what is it that wood workers have with work benches and vise's ? i know that it has its importance but it seems almost like a right of passage , whats the deal? good vid thanks for sharing.
haha I know right? The workbench and vise videos I made have by far the most views :D . Anyways, I think that constructing and building a workbench by hand taught me a lot. For my metal working area the tables and stuff are going to be much simpler designed. Thanks for the comment!
This is a good idea to make things easier, thanks! It definitely goes in hand with Woody Hyezmar's concepts in his woodworking bible…, google it I think it's still free!
This is a great wood working book, “pepe amazing plan” (Google it). I`m a graduate of a one-year carpentry course from a local tech college. Of all books I`ve read during my study about carpentry, I do think this is the ideal book I`ve read so far. It explains everything concerning wood working as well as complements it with helpful pictures.

@@mu99ins Of course you're right, but... people can't take criticism these days...

Excellent video,I will be installing my new old vice soon!!
Thanks! All the best for your new old vice haha
Bro when you took the log out to make your clamps was the coolest shit i have seen on UA-cam
loved the video. well worth shooting and sharing.
+Fusion Music Thanks a lot!
finally someone gets it how to install that style of vise i did mine on a simular fashion now i am watching this and think just nice work man
Stunning piece of work there sir! 10 out of 10 for the effort you put in. Great all round video ... thanks for sharing it.
+MP Transport Thank you very much, I appreciate it!
That's a strong wise, good job.

Nice video. I enjoyed watching it.
+christschool Thanks! I enjoyed installing it :D
this is great I've been given one and not fitted it yet. going to fit it to my new bench. just have to find a tree to chop down for the jaws. 😂
very good! :D
The music is perfect, makes a good video downright captivating. Thanks for this!

example of measure once cut 2,3,4 or more x
How wide is this vice? How much space did you leave from the corner of the vice to the left end of the working bench?
I wouldn't have used split firewood, when it's split, it causes stress and cracks in the wood fibers, as you can plainly see in the end grain.
Excellent job with the install and overall production.

Thanks for the info
+wood and stuff Looks like a copy of the Record 53ED...
+Mark Dennehy That might very well be, yes. The one I used looks exactly like a Irwin Record 52ED...great design after all :D
Yup, and one I'm planning on using myself shortly :)
I think you should have used a railway tie and whittled it into shape with a paring knife
The best tutorial for installing a vice on the net. Period.

where did you purchase that vise?
from witch company is your vice
very nice installation video, can you show it how you build that saw house at the video
+LEE ECTHUR Thanks! Yes thats a good idea. In order to build my workbench I had to build the sawhorse first...I didn't think of a video at the time :D
Amazing
Where did u buy it from?
Just watched a video from Paul Sellers that has a lot of good reasons not to flush mount your vise to your bench. This kind of vise was never intended to be flush mounted.
I saw that too - and followed the Paul Sellers approach. I can always use a spacer block and a sash clamp if I need a flush-mount equivalent.
Hi, may i know the brand, where did you bought this vise? Thanks for sharing.

Just the right video and just the right time. Where did you get the background music? Thanks
+Johnny Pantages I'm glad you like it. The music is by Kevin MacLeod and it's royalty free. you can get it for free on his website incompetech.com/.

very good l am planing to fix one
Great! Thanks alot :D
This may sound like a dumb question, but did this come with the mechanical fasteners or were those purchased separately
for what ever reason 99.99% of vises seem to come without any actual fasteners. you always ahve to have/buy your own
Hi, sorry for the late reply. There were no fasteners or screws in the kit, I had to use some big bolts.
okay thanks a lot.
Good job
Thanks alot! :D
Terrific. I really like your rebated approach. And that log!! Oh, and the music - I kinda liked its classical vibe - waaaay less intrusive than most.
how much u pay for it ?
How to found that vise. And thanks for this video
+Jorge Ramos Hi! I found that thing online by sheer luck, just googled woodworking tools or something similar :D
Below, you named the artist and where to find his music, but what is the name of the song itself? Thanks in advance. BTW - great video!
Thanks! The names of the songs are "Ghost Dance" and Exotics" from Kevin MacLeod
Dang I must be lazy... I saw him break out that hand ratchet on those lag bolts and said WTF! Bringing a knife to a gunfight there..
This is a good idea to make things easier, thanks! It definitely goes in hand with Woody Hyezmar's concepts in his woodworking bible…, google it I think it's still free!
Thanks for the tip, I will definitely check it out!
