    This video is OUTSTANDING! I live in SoCal and repairmen want $325.00 to do this repair. Video took less than ten minutes to watch, round trip to Lowes for the $7.98 belt took 25 minutes and repair took about 15 minutes. Under an hour total to Do It Yourself. Thank you so much!!!

    Thanks so much for making this video. I never thought I could do this job myself until I watched it. Now my dryer is up and running after almost two weeks of having to dry clothes by the wood stove! Also, I found it easiest for me to remove the front and back panels. Easier way for a novice to be able to get the belt properly on the pully. Thanks again! Very great full!!

      @@appliancepartspros I followed your instructions put the belt on everything was easy put it back together turned it on was running great for about a minute and when it stopped the digital said E1, what does that mean? And can I fix it, is it possible to put the ribbon wires flipped over and put in? Please help. I know I did everything just like you did in the proof is it runs there’s no noise it’s quiet, it’s got heat coming to it but it quits after a minute.

    My dryer is a Kenmore He5, but very similar to this unit. Thank you much. I had to take all this off, and the drum out, because I replaced all 4 rollers, the belt, the idler pulley, and vacuumed all the lint out. Squeaky clean and ready to go now!

    Excellent video that goes far beyond just a belt replacement. I did a thorough cleaning of my dryer and replaced the thermal fuse. This is by far the best video for disassembly and reassembly of the unit regardless if you're doing a belt change or other service. Thank you very much. I know that doesn't get you very much, but your work is appreciated.

    This is an extremely useful video. Thank you so much, Appliance Pros! My only comment would be that removing the bottom access panel was much easier, once the dryer (or at least the front of it), was raised on some blocks of wood. It wasn't until I tried unscrewing the panel that I realised that in the video, the dryer is not directly on the floor, but is raised up a couple of inches. This makes it much easier.

    Didn't match my older circa 2007 duet exactly, but close enough to get it going and keeping cash in my pocket. Main difference for those who might have one like ours is in removal of the upper console. My model has a ring trim around the door leading up and wrapping the top. Take that trim piece off by pulling up and toward you on the top part of the dryer, pretty similar to he showed in this video. Remove the ring gently using a pry bar at each fastener. This frees the control console to slide up and out. AWESOME VIDEO - THANKS MUCH!

    Thank you for this video. I'm a fearless FIYer, and this was DEFINITELY NOT AN EASY JOB. I would give it 4-1/2 wrenches out of 5 in difficulty and time consumption. In the middle of almost completely taking apart your dryer, you'll remember that it's all for simply replacing the belt, and you'll get mad. My recommendation from hard experience is to unscrew the back panel and swivel it to the right side, leaving all wiring attached. This will give you much welcomed and improved access to the belt pulley and drive. There's a lot of spring tension against the pulley, and you have to torque on it pretty hard in order to work the belt over the drive. I couldn't do it from the front, as pictured. Guess you have to be a pro! Were I a pro, I easily would have charged $500-$1,000 for this job.

    I would like to add a few notes. When you remove the front panel you can lift the drum out pretty easily giving you complete access to the rollers. My tension roller was very hard to turn (probably responsible for the broken belt. I lubed it with T-9 bicycle oil and worked it 'til it turned easy. I also removed the back panel (about 12 screws) to get better access in getting the belt around the tension roller. I used 2 egg cartons with notes to keep track of all the screws. I also vacuumed out a cubic foot of lint along the way. Now my dryer seems like it's super-charged. The video helped me through every step. Thank you!

    I did this following all your instructions and it worked like a charm until today. When we started the dryer it started and instantly you hear a snap which I think is the sound of the tension pully releasing. I put it back on and tried to start it again and the same thing happened. I noticed the wheel the belt attaches to that is connected to the engine (not the tension pully) is just a cylander with ridges but does not have a flat end like yours in the video and other videos I’ve seen. Could this be the problem? If so what is this piece called so I can order one from you! Thanks for your videos. No one believes that I replaced my dryer belt 💪🏽

    I have to ask: Why not just access the drum and the pulleys from the rear of the unit and avoid the front of the unit disassembly and reassembly?

    • @mrsbellacaramel
      @mrsbellacaramel 5 років тому +1

      Because on certain models the back of the dryer does not have a removable panel.

    • @marknowlin8356
      @marknowlin8356 3 роки тому

      I tried that, and I decided it was too complicated. The heat manifold that blows hot air into the drum is in the way, and there's an inner frame that it's attached to, and you would have to take THAT off, as well as the back panel. I recommend the way the repair guy does it as being the easiest, although it is NOT easy. I also recommend unscrewing and swiveling the back panel to the right (leaving the electronics and wiring as is), because that will give you better access to the pulley and belt drive, and you will need it.

    i wouldn't call this an "easy repair" though honestly. And also a tip, it's helpful to have someone hold the drum and lay and align the belt properly over it while u maneuver it into the pulley underneath.

    I found it is about 100 times easier to go thru the back panel. Then you don't have to attach to belt to the pulley blind. Take off the back panel and there are 2 screws you need to loosen to be able to get the belt around the drum. No need to disconnect all the electronics and lint duct.

      I just replaced the belt on my Kenmore 11082832100 and after reading the comments here decided to also go through the back panel. I removed the top and back panels, then a screw to one side that holds the rear bulkhead in place to loosen things up. This bulkhead has the rollers that hold up the drum in the rear. I was then able with some effort to squeeze the belt around the drum successfully.
