I love how Blade almost single-handedly turned the tide in the third act, just when it looked like the bad guys were going to win. This entire sequence is pure cinematic therapy. It's like watching an impending downer ending suddenly get kicked in the balls by an "upper" ending.

Still the best Marvel character movie ever made. Likely always will be with the direction they are going. It's just a great movie, it doesn't try to tell too much of a story and is absolutely jam packed full of action. Let's not forget the fantastic soundtrack. Brilliant movie.

I've always just thought that when Blade decapitates Quinn, he does so in such a fast and hard way that the shades are thrown off Quinn's disembodied head before the ash effect can kick in. But the simplest reason is probably either: 1) Blade NEEDS his shades, and thus they are exempt from the "clothes become ash" rule. 2) The plot demands it. That said, my tinfoil hat theory is: Whistler somehow modded the shades with silver underneath the frames in case this exact situation happened. A vampire could wear Blade's shades, but they wouldn't burn up with them.
