Honestly, I love that 'what's that smell?' sequence. It's been kinda joked about like with Krillin how he reacts to larger powerlevels, but with how the earth shakes, and even thinking back to the Cell Saga with Bulma able to sense Cell without the ability, sometimes your Ki is so powerful that the brain can't help but spill over into all your other senses trying to parse it.
"Do you sense that? | I _feel_ that"
"Do you feel that? | I *_taste_* that!"
Logical progression was always gonna be "I smell that"
@@mordirit8727
All so "why do I smell deer?"
@@captain-commander8138 Wasn't that because the Spirit Bomb held an entire deer's spirit within its energy?
@@devonm042690 yes in the abridged universe yes
How I perceive the joke is that Goku probably let out a huge fart when powering up, so that’s why Trunks could smell his power. 😅
Fun fact TFS ( specifically lanipator and Kiserneko )is currently doing creator commentary for dbza on FourStarBento witch is a another channel they have and I think it’s really interesting and insightful
Taka joined too
And it is a good time all around.
Reacting to reaction energy right there. It would be great.
Yeah it's fantastic and really insightful. Really fun to hear their stories about how the whole thing was written.
Just gotta say: Vegeta saying "God I missed you" was just the pure Saiyan blood speaking to another pure Saiyan. The saiyans are practically nothing but battle junkies in the main setting.
Vegeta saying "I'm a way better dad than Kakarot" after knocking Trunks out is actually TFS making fun of the fans that believe that. Neither are great fathers, but Goku isn't near as bad as Vegeta.
Goku sacrificed himself twice for his kid
I've never watched the Buu saga, so this was my only context:
"I'm a way better dad than Kakarot" - Vegeta, after beating Goten and Trunks to unconciousness
Now eventually I realized it was to keep them from fighting so they were safe but come on, man, that was hilarious
right knocks out his son and makes sure he's out of the line of fire to cleanup a mess he helped make
goku fight cell gohan I'll even senzu him
I'd still say Vegeta is the better father. Goku is the better person, but he's not a good father.
what makes goku a bad father?@@Here_is_Waldo
You’re the only person I’ve seen on this entire platform that reacted to these clips and ACTUALLY MENTIONED TNM’s Buu saga review. Respect!
45:00 Nappa was ‘Having a stroke’ with a belt…Something Vegeta would know about…oh no…Nappa NO!
Sharpner is just Kaiser being himself but cranked up to 11
59:18 in actuality yes! In the og show the narrator didn't return until vegeta's sacrifice! The way TFS interprets it is perfect because that's basically what he said😂
“I’m ok eating anything that is an a-hole.”
(Zarbon in the distance): *MOAN*
Fun Fact: about the spirit bomb bit it was actually Vegeta's idea not Goku's in canon.
Can't believe you didn't mention that Goku objected to them resorting to it because it wouldn't work... And Vegeta's response is basically, "if it doesn't, then maybe death by Buu is exactly what everyone deserves."
Fun Fact: KameKameha from Goten is actually Canon not just a joke here
Found as an Easter Egg in one of the games too
DBZ Kakarot
Also that shirt.. the moment you realize "Orange Piccollo "
49:39 that laugh is infectious and will be on repeat in my mind for months
Fun fact: Despite what the anime says, Fat Buu is only weaker than kid(the original) Buu, every form of Super Buu is stronger than Kid Buu. Also, Goku SSJ3 is way weaker than every other character that fights on this Saga besides Vegeta and maybe fat Buu
The main reason Kid Buu gave them so much trouble is the fact that he's basically a giggling ball of chaos and insanity; he's weaker than Evil/Super Buu, but he's wildly unpredictable and it makes him a very bad matchup for fighters that are used to opponents that aren't _completely unhinged._
@@Groundlord especially since he just blew up earth immediately, I believe the reason for the Kai planet fight is because it’s not possible to destroy because of divine shit or something.
@@chazo1367he could have blown up Kai's planet but it's far away from other planets he could blow up and Buu was distracted and kept entertained by the fighters
Also keep in mind that only Gohan could keep up fully to Super Buu. Goku and Vegeta wouldn't be about to stand a chance (Goku maybe in SSJ3 but that has a time limit) and they couldn't fuse to Vegito anymore.
Is SSJ3 Goku weaker than Gotenks?
"We are a fighter born of the potara. A combination of Vegeta and Go... Vegeta and Gooookarot..."
Trunks: Father, just call him Goku !
Best Body: And disrespect MY Heritage ?! I will address him with the name given to him by the glorious Saiyan race !
Spirit Bomb= Effectiveness usually saved for movies.
what I'm certain super took inspiration from abridged is when vegeta goes in the time chamber again before the tournament of power popo says "wait.. if you break the time chamber again..." (popo eyes zoomed in) "you're banned for life"
Would love if it turns out that Vegeta hearing voices turns out to be Goku trying to his best buddies over the years and only his best buddy, ignoring Gohan, Chi-Chi etc.
The creators outright admitted that they were waiting YEARS for the chance to use that “Kaka-Tot” line for Goten. They REALLY wanted it to hit.
Towa is Dabura's sisters. She is technically semi-canon. As she was an original character in Dragon Ball Heroes and the main the antagonist of Xenoverse 1 and 2 along with her creation Mira. Her English Dub actress is the same ad Nico Robin (One Piece) and Olivia Myra Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood).
You're forgetting the dragon ball online game, she debuted there before heroes and xenoverse
18 being human and able to have kids is not a continuity error because "Android" is a dubism, in Japanese they are "Artificial Humans" which was a blanket term for cyborgs like 18 and 17, biomechanical beings like Cell, and full ass robots like 16 and 19.
The joke with Goten going to school was that Goku wasn't going to come back, so Chizchi was gonna keep him home forever
I believe the narrator hadn't been around for awhile, and they wanted to make sure that people understood that Vegeta was gone..lol, so they brought him back for the epic speech he does.
“Who voices Sharpner?” he asks 😂
In Teamfourstar xenoverse play though towa became their characters baby momma (dumplin who became mr popo)fun fact Takahata101 voice actor in xenoverse
I love how Buu enjoyed being a punching bag cause you hear a small "Whoohoo"
Outside of the movies, yes this is the first time the spirit bomb ACTUALLY worked
45:00 I was told this was about stroking (like with hand) and belt was around his neck. For some reason I first thought Nappa just ate too much and got a stroke because his veins got clogged.
The thing with the spirit bomb working is that it makes more sense here than any other fight in the series, because the bomb works better the more evil than person getting hit is, and by this point kid buu is nothing but evil and fighting skill. Spirit bomb operating at max efficiency more or less
I will share this cursed knowledge, Napa died because he was masturbating and he was into asphyxiation, that's what the "how's it hanging" part meant... The notch in the belt was that it got too tight and locked. You got to think with Napa being a strong Warrior, that belt must have been strong too.
53:33 That Was A Really Good TFS Mr PoPo Impression I Clicked Subscribed Just Because Of That. P.s I’ve Been Watching Your Channel For A Super Long Time I Just Never Subscribed Or Commented
42:23 Phrasing
42:26 *CLIP IT! AND REMOVE **_AALLLL_** THE CONTEXT!*
Vegeta: And I have nothing to prove.
That has the same energy as:
Char: I've never betrayed anyone in my life.
He has nothing to prove to the human race: a backwater bunch of low level weaklings whose only redeeming feature, in Vegeta's eyes, are the very few outliers that defend the planet and their similarity in appearance to Saiyans which likely scares the shit out of most races so they avoid Earth religiously.
And thus Kaiserneko declared, "I'm going to make Sharpener the Sassiest Shithead."
42:23 I heard this and immediately thought to myself, "Wait for it..."
Just wanna say, you do a real good Popo impression
29:09 accidental TFS reference.
51:07 Only in canon this is the only time the Spirit Bomb works. Any other time Goku used it it either didn't work (Vegeta and Frieza like the former mentioned), or it did work, but wasn't connected to Z's storyline (i.e. the movies he did use the technique, and vs. Omega Shenron in GT).
its kinda rich for prince vegeta, son of king vegeta, from planet vegeta to make fun of anyone elses hereditary naming conventions
Black Freeza is probably reference to something that happens in recent manga Dragon Ball Super where freeza acquired new form after the gold one and its Black one :v
Towa was in the "Xenoverse" games. She is Dabura's sister.
That amount of time i saw this and was like did he say hump ty im not going crazy
42:34 future you didn't listen. You have denied your own prayer.
Baka janai~
29:07 - 29:14 *proceeds to get kicked into aforementioned plateau *
Yeah pretty much everything that happened with Super Buu and onwards was because of that guy with the gun who had a hard on for shooting innocents. Literally the whole second half of the Buu stuff could’ve been avoided if not for the cruelty of one man.
Videl's mother was a singer named Miguel. It's hardly touched on, though.
Goku's excited laugh is just perfection there.
Yeah, the narrator hadn't been around for a while in DBZ, but when Vegeta sacrificed himself they brought him back to tell the audience that Vegeta did indeed die.
It was THAT significant of a scene.
You aren't the only one who thought "the big C" meant something else. I've watched at least 6 different reactions to Buu Bits (including yours) and everyone thought they meant Cell.
Yeah, Keanu Reeves said he was heavily inspired by Japanese cinema and Japanese anime
Actually she said ever since her mom was 'gone' her dad changed and was flaunting around and barely training, she says that aftef her hair cut
This deserved a like purely for the incidental humor lmao
People in their 30s know the pain of the show looping back the the beginning right after Goku gets to Namek. It was years before we got to see the rest of that arc and it was so frustrating
I believe Doomguy inspired john wick
Both were the best at what they do with killing
The enemy killed their beloved pet
Johns dog and Doomguys bunny who are both named Daisy
And they won't stop at anything from killing everyone involved or related to who was involved
John vs Mafia
Doom guy vs demons
The joke with the narrator is because the narrator had not been part of the show for a long time at that point, but was brought back to inform the audience that what Vegeta was doing involved sacrificing himself. In the original, the narrator gave a heartfelt speech about Vegeta and his pride.
The thing is they bring potato salad but then they will go for the actual food
I went to a big pot luck once, there was like a dozen potato salads and not one of them was touched but everything else people were going for seconds
Yeah, it tends to be the "I have to bring _something_ but I don't want to put any actual _effort_ into it" food.
You did not remember to cut this out. :)
The spirit bomb should have worked on Frieza except Toriama wanted Z to end with Frieza, it works better with how much evil is in one's heart
Beerus is not the counterpart, rather the counter roll, and most certainly not above the supreme Kai, Even if stronger. The kai of time technically is above, but that's xenoverse, not in the main story.
Oh, you're talking about the angels, yeah I guess that makes sense.
24:03 not really I love it too but there's the "joke" that there's Always too much potato salad, now, at least in my country that's not true at all that shit always gets cleaned up, but also in my country you don't bring food unless you're the food guy (which that's usually the host) but that's neither here nor there
35:56 SKD = Super Kami Dende
John Wick was created more than 15 years after the Buu saga came out.
John Wick will win against Vegeta..PROVE ME WRONG!!!
skd= supper kimi denda @Airier ( sorry for my bad spelling)
Tomorrow morning, right?
I disagree with GT ruining Pan. Honestly never felt like she had much potential, but that’s probably because I was just burned out by how long the Buu saga was and I just wanted it to be over at that point.
I think the Pan is ruined by GT joke would be probably be the same as both Piccolo and Gohan being ruined by Super
Towa is from Xenoverse
@Airier to be fair I believe the fact that the spirit bomb was initially created to destroy buu and wasn't designed for other characters
The point of the spirit bomb is countering evil and buu is evil incarnated so it would make sense if king kai made it in caution of buu
35:59 Super Komi denday :v
Id definitely say yes to check out and react to marks latest video series on dbz! Very fun, insightful, and some kick ass edits!
For real! Those edits hyped me up and lived up to those moments!
@airier black frieza is post ToP and the time line is fine
Super hanppens after buu and before end of z
He did not edit that out
Okay, am I the only one not getting the joke with the name of Krillin’s kid?
She shares the same name as Krillin’s filler girlfriend who, in abridged continuity, he was only dating for her body and ended up screwing him out of all his money
@@ammash3000oooh, gotcha. I’d completely forgotten about her tbh
40:56 now here the they them bulshit would somewhat makes sense because Gotenks is just two people fused into one because they and or them or plural words not singular
golden Frieza was the TOP, Black Frieza was later.
did you miss the cell saga tfs and anime why 18 can have children
Yeah, the end of the final episode of DBZ is more or less non-canon at this point.
Probably the same with GT.
Towa is Dabura's sister. Younger sister if I'm not mistaken. She debut in DB Online and was later adapted for Xenoverse as main villain
SKD= Super Kami Dende
Dende was not flirting with Videl. Remember, Dende has a huge crush on Gohan
B is Beerus. Bingus is another name for a sphynx cat
So...you're ok with eating cats? Because cats are assholes too
That's why the title of that clip is" It works in the movies" because the Spirit Bomb always works in the movie specials.
Beerus gets his name from beer I think
Whis is whiskey etc
@@rubberwoody Yes I know, all the GOD get their names from alcoholic drinks(Beerus=Beer, Champa=Champagne, Rumshi=Rum, etc), same as the angels. I'm referring to this specific case in this parody. Beerus is a sphynx cat and bingus is another name for a sphynx cat. Thus Elder Kai was talking about Beerus
Yeah, and I think a producer involved with the DB games said Toriyama actually is the one who set down a rule that they're not allowed to kill Towa. No explanation as to why, but my guess is he wants/intends to do something that will make her fully canon later.
@@freedantheeternal She's pretty much canon to the "heroes" sub series, she's the most recurrent villain after all
Actually we don’t eat cats or dogs because cat and dog meat is actually trash and usually have bacteria that we can’t eat. They’re not even nutritious either.
Cows and pigs are simply more effective
“I am an adult” is the most satisfying call back ever.
Hey just wanted to say thanks for waiting for TFS to upload their own full version of the buu bits, it was something that really bothered me about other reactors and youtubers. Thank you man, just letting you know i appreciate the integrity and commitment to actually reacting!
This!
54:57 You're thinking of Golden Frieza. Black Frieza is part of the Dragon Ball Super manga and happened way after the Tournament of Power. We technically don't know how the story ends because the manga is still going hence Goku saying "probably" when Bulma asks if they ever defeated Frieza.
Deborah is stated to be equal in strength to perfect Cell, so basically, he was used as a measuring stick, to show how weak Gohan had become, and to give an idea of just how powerful Buu was.
The sad thing is, it was kind of a good thing that Gohan had gotten weaker. Because part of the supreme Kai’s plan involved, allowing going to have his energy taken and then following the guys who did it.
The thing is the energy taken from Gohan. Was HALF of the energy needed to wake up Buu.
if it was Karen instead of Deborah it would have probably be the end of the world, i agree xD
If Gohan kept training then Supreme Kai wouldn’t have been able to restrain him at all and he would’ve one-shot Spopovich and Yamu.
Ok, but how strong is Dabura ? 😂
If Gohan had kept training, he probably would have one-shot Buu.
He's not equal in strength to perfect cell. He's stated to be inferior to Gohan in the manga, the same Gohan who was weaker in his adult-teen stage than his pre-teen stage. He'd be closer to the androids.
Now that's DragonBall logic. The same logic that had base freeza at 540K power boost up to 120M, but him coming back into super with over a 1M base power was terrifying to everyone that fought buu...
The only reason why Goku laugh was because he realized Vegeta obviously had darkness in his heart he didn't think of that and its hilarious
No, he laughs at it because it mean Vegeta becomes stronger, so he's a greater challange for Goku than before.
@@melonmusk8924 I'm not so sure about that
@@lexxanderbelmomt2001Could be both.
@@melonmusk8924Knowing dbz, its absolutely about vegeta becoming atronger
@@lexxanderbelmomt2001 Considering DBZA Goku's way of thinking, Vegeta getting stronger is definitely the reason.
He got excited over King Kai explaining how strong Frieza was, he got excited over there being a possible "new" Vegeta in the Broly movie while wondering if the new one is stronger than the old one, he got excited over Gohan achieving Super Saiyan in the chamber with him getting an actual sparring partner, and he literally threatened Shin due to Shin hyping up Buu to be such a big threat.
DBZA Goku is just always going to be excited over a good fight.
Concerning the narrator joke, it's because TFS haven't used the narrator since the end of the Freeza saga.
and probably just because the narrator pops up then in the actual show too
I say yes in covering TotallyNotMark's Reviews on Dragon Ball Z on the channel. 👍 My suggestion is that if you watch DBZ, just watch the Kai version where it covers the story, but cuts most of the filler out. 👍 Ah yes, Videl's mother (Miguel) all we know about her is that she's a singer, and she passed away. I believe it was only speculation that she passed away of some kind of disease. 🤔 Elder Kai was talking about Beerus because it was retcon in DBS that Beerus sealed him in the Z-Sword. Finally, DBS was after Buu Saga before End of Z (When Goku was taking about "not seen Bulma in 10 years".).
21:30 I actually had that same mind set too Airier, you're not alone on that.
42:28 You forgot to edit it out and you know it.
😶😨😅
@@Airier*distant Zarbon moan*
42:28 We actually went "Okay, Airier eats ass confirmed." THEN got to see him realizes his mistake. It had to stay!!
37:50 a lot of people seem to miss this but ssj2 Goku's hair also has less bangs than in ssj1. He goes from 5 bangs to 3 bangs.
It's also mildly spikier, partially because the bangs spike up, partially because some of the hair spikes get narrower and separate.
SSJ2 seems to have more 'updraft' in the aura effect@@elijahpadilla5083
@@elijahpadilla5083 exactly. Vegeta is the only one with virtually no difference.
@@OtherDude But that's more just Vegeta and Super Saiyan. The changes to Super Saiyan don't really impact Vegeta much:
•Color change (visible with every Super Saiyan)
•Hair stands up (not really visible with Super Broly or Vegeta)
•Eyes narrow (only really visible on the Son family and Kid Trunks)
•Speech gets growly[media with audio]/given edgier text bubbles[manga] (not noticeable with Vegeta or Super Broly)
Super Saiyan 2's changes are barely identifiable to begin with.
•Hair rises slightly more (barely noticeable with all users)
•The user's hair spikes separate into narrower spikes (really only consistently visible on Gohan)
•Electrical effects (not always drawn/animated)
•The aura of powering up is drawn wider and sharper (inconsistent)
Super Saiyan Blue is just the original Super Saiyan design again, but the power auras are made of bubbles instead of one consistent blob.
Like, say what you will about Super Saiyan 3, it's a lot more instantly identifiable.
So fun fact about Dial M for Vegeta. In a commentary on their Four Star Bento podcast chanel, like Episodes 48 or 49 or around there. Lani mentioned the whole joke about how Vegeta knows he's being played and that the cut wouldve happened the same
And what's even better is back when they played Tenkaichi 3 Lani talked about how the whole Majin Vegeta fight is just Vegeta having a mid-life crisis and that basically is how they played it here.
I'm so happy they managed to sneak in the "Kio-what?!" gag in, granted in a non-traditional way. xD It's my favorite gag next to Vegeta's 'mine' gag. Lmao
40:00 Apparently He pissed Beerus off so he turned him into a sword
Frieza: 😈Don’t mind me but seriously, 👿give me some ideas.
Buu: 😈Oh Buu has played this game.”. Chills.
Also Vegeat should’ve shouted “TEAM THREE STAR” as he died.
I think that the following line also belongs along these two;
Cell [just finished singing Mr. Sandman]: "Hello... Friend."
The ending with Majin Vegeta could not have ended any better.
@@TheJeSTeR7530 More like "Trunks...you couldn't fathom the amount of dead men behind me."
Nah. "Vegeta, yes." was an excellent line. It shows Geet's character growth as he is no longer doing it for himself as he had done prior.
@@R_Caine Which is really funny because Which is really funny, because the "Vegeta Yes" gag only comes up when he's fighting for someone else.
To answer you're question about Super it all does take place in the ten-year time skip between the defeat of Buu and the end of Z itself with Goku meeting Uub. Well, technically it all happens just five years before the end of Z, since the first arc of Super Battle of Gods actually takes place five years after the defeat of Buu, but five years before Goku meets Uub, we know this for a fact, because during this arc Videl is pregnant with Pan and Pan is 4 years old at the end of Z when Goku meets Uub.
But the exact timeline is a little tricky at times because of just how much has happened in Super in less the five years, including gaps between arcs of at least a couple weeks maybe even a few months at times, so it can seem kind of ridiculous how much has happened in so little time. The first five arcs(Battle of Gods arc, Ressurection F arc, Universe 6 vs Universe 7 arc, the Goku Black aka the Zamasu arc, and the Tournament of Power arc) happen over the course of two years, we know this because of both Pan and Bulma and Vegeta's daughter Bra or Bulla, depending on your dub, Bulla is 3 years old at the end of Z when Goku meets Uub, Pan is born by the time of Resurrection F, and Bulla is born during the Tournament of Power, thus 2 years have passed, leaving us with just three before we get to the end of Z. Now after the Tournament of Power we get the Broly Movie, the Moro arc, the Granola arc, and currently were in the Super Heroes arc, yes seriously on that last one. Now while there isn't an actual timeline for these three arcs, given how much happens, as well as the fact that there's usually at least a few weeks between each arc in-universe, as well as the fact that both the Mmoro and the Granola arcs have minor time skips during their stories(two months in Moro before Moro and his crew invade Earth to give Goku, Vegeta, and the other heroes time to train for the final battle, and at least a couple of weeks in Granola to give the Heeters time to come up with a plan to pit Goku and Vegeta against Granola so all parties will take each other out and allow the Heeters evil scheme to go off without a hitch), I think it's safe to assume that by the time of the current arc the Super Heroes arc were only a year and a half or just a year away from the end of Z, especially since Piccolo is training Pan during this arc and she has to be at least 2 and a half to 3 years old to be training now.
And the funniest thing about this whole timeline is that Goten and Trunks still look the exact same way they did in the Buu arc by the end of the Moro arc, they still look like little kids. Now again, after the Tournament of Power the exact passage of time is tough to pin down, but given everything it's safe to assume that by the end of the Moro arc it's been seven and a half to eight years since the defeat of Buu and Goten and Trunks haven't aged at all since then. Then we don't see them at all during the Granola arc because that arc mostly takes place off of Earth, but when we return to Earth at the start of the Super Heroes arc we see that Goten and Trunks suddenly hit a growth spurt and now look exactly like they do at the end of Z when Goku meets Uub, it took these two 8 years or more to finally age, and it took 8 years or more for Goten to finally stop looking exactly like Goku, that is insane.
50:53 honeslty, I think that is a dub for Gohan to not bend to peer pressure and pursue his own dream. Also makes more sense than having Gohan be just as strong as Goku and Vegeta, while these two spend every single living hour of their lives training with the strongest beings in the multiverse.
22:15 I think this reaction from Goku isn't because he wanted to see Vegeta get a powerup, but him laughing to himself about how they didn't see Vegeta getting controlled coming when they were just talking about having evil in your heart. Like, Shin wouldn't have known, hence his line. But now that the attention has been brought to Goku, he's laughing to himself a little about how obvious this should've been.
I don't think that's the joke.
I always took it as an uncomfortable ‘oh boy oh shit’ kinda laugh because evil in Vegeta’s heart getting unleashed? Ooohhh dear
I thought the same. Goku laughing at “Oh right! Vegeta is Vegeta. Shoulda seen that coming.”
I agree you should check out Mark’s Z review, its absolutely top tier ✌️🔥

actually they did go over videls mother in canon
didnt say specific reason but her mother passed away and then came one of the reasons that she disliked her father.
she elluded to him going around with a bunch of women (gold-diggers) and treating the deceased wife as though she didnt mean much to him because he move on rather soon
