16min in you used ronseal and went through the green, I'd have used 5 or 6 iron to clear bunker and run on to the green leaving 2 puts for par or a possible birdie
First visit to Trafford golf Centre this morning after years of not playing. Liam, you've inspired me to take up golf again. I hit it well apart from topping my driver and 3 wood. Thanks for the videos.
I like it when Joe films behind you so the golf mates can see the shot you’ve got to play and don’t worry about your short game Liam I wish I had your ‘s mate
Absolutely loved this episode, talking us average golfers through the shots with results we can actually relate to in our games was priceless, well done Liam 🏌️♂️👍
Class as Always Liam!!!, Whatever happened to the Orka driver? or have I missed something, God bless mate, will sort out a round soon if your ever around Nottingham!
What a beautiful morning to play golf. I would have made basically all the same shot selections. I would have missed my drive because of the groundskeeper without a doubt for the same reasons, probably would have went left when I was in the trees, at least today I would because I'm a OMP student. Happy days, great video once again, thank you Golf Mates.
Liam, you might look at the white stripe on your driver at contact v set up v swing path. Lots of variables. I’m a talker like you. I’ve REALLY had to get myself to slow it all down and clear the mind of anything. Tough job to do commentary and play. Thank you for a very fun channel.
I enjoy this kind of vlogs. Its interesting to watch, as a high handicapper it's interesting to watch how you assess your position, your shots & how you just smile & carry on after a bad shot...... that shirts looking great. Great work as usual.
Am new to the Golf Mates channel and loving it! I guess the only thing I would have done differently was through the trees - I would have played a fairway wood to keep it lower
Liam, try something different with the driver. I noticed you have a weak right hand grip try a stronger grip, also your feet are wide open. close the back foot to where it is perpendicular to your line, once I did this no more weak right drives for me. It will give you a better base to get your weight shifted to the left. I also set the left foot slightly forward of the right to encourage a draw, but I never do I just hit a straight ball or a slight fade with this strategy. I'm not a professional but I have been playing at a 5 or less for over 25 years. My philosophy is if it is not working mix things up. There is one thing you do that I feel is helpful for anyone and that is calling your shot before hitting it, it indicates you are visualizing what needs to be done. Good luck.
Hi Liam. Thanks for GolfMates. Your clips have made an enormous difference to me during my recovery from surgery. I have heard you tell us that your golf pro is advising you to keep your hands down. I have noticed that the last movement for you, before your backswing with all shots except chips and putts, is to lift your hands. This seems to have something to do with you pushing shots to the right. I'm just a mug golfer, so I will not be offended at all if you totally ignore this comment. However, there seems to be a connection. I love what you are doing. You're a good man, and you have my admiration. Could you consider doing a mixed group in some of your future videos? Thanks mate, Lindsay McIntyre (Australian GolfMate)
Good video have you changed the camera you use the last four / five videos I've watched when I screen it to my big TV its all juddery will keep watching them though look forward to the next one. 👍👌🏌️♂️⛳
Liam, one thing I am learning from you is that accepting a shot is key, was the best you could do is such a great way to play. You accept, plan and then execute the next shot. By relaxing I have reduced my average by 6 shots following your lead. Keep inspiring others kid!! Remember to imagine the positive outcome not talk the negative out loud :)
Hey Liam, something I have been telling my dad the past month is to slow down and go through the routine (he’s not played in over 20 years). It really does make a lot of difference, when you do concentrate you do play well. Keep it up mate, loving all the videos 👌🏽🏌🏽♂️
I really enjoy your videos, set up and content. After a long day at work it is generally what the doctor ordered. Love Pop. Straight hitting son of a gun.
Gidday Liam, Love the channel. Have you considered your reshot routine. I have found lining up the shot with a mark 12" in front of the ball, has helped to concentrate on the club path . Food for thought mate. Cheers from Downunder.
Love it, love it, love it. Favourite channel by a country mile a.k.a the distance between Liam and Mr Barlow drives. I would like to see a video where Joe plays. He's a magician with the filming and editing, what about a golf club?
Enjoyed this very much. Good to see you having a go. The completions you enter could you ever film those. It could be just joe randomly filming and you just playing. You could add commentary afterwards when you edit
Really good video Loved being out on the course early with the dew on the grass, the commentary, thoughts on the lie of the ball club selection and what you were trying to achieve with each shot. I feel as though rushing that shot instead of waiting for the green keeper to clear the green is what broke your concentration
Peter, I've played it a few times (not a member) it's a lovely track.. And had a chat with Liam in the bar after, and OMP, great blokes. The reason why it looks empty or quiet is Liam goes out early to avoid getting in other golfers way.. I've seen him and josh jumonfrom holes so they have time to film etc. Everyone I've played it it's nearly always busy mid week and hard to her on at weekends. If you get chance you should try and play it.
Love your all-star cast videos and enjoy the banter between you all. How they are not put off by your continuous comments as they are about to play their shot is testimony to the friendships between you 😂. This was a really refreshing video, serious and focussed and you were saying many of the things that go on in my head during a round - you are the people's golfer. More of the more serious game stuff please Liam - I can really relate to it. How about a similarly serious match vs OMP? You might learn something from the maestro 😉
Really think your handicap is always easier to defend in comp I find I play better when there is a little bit of pressure (can also play like a daft clumpier too of course) but liked the thinking out and shot by shot thinking here Liam bloody good
Half way through your routine on your tee shot on the 2nd you said something along the lines of "Get a Par here and walk off". Go through that routine for that shot, hit it, find it just like you say. Really like these formats of video, great to see and watch.
Joe - top camera work in difficult lighting conditions mate, class. Liam - love that new shirt. Feedback on your shots as I would've played them..... 1st hole - 5w every time on that 2nd shot. 2nd hole - top stuff by both you and Joe. 3rd hole - should've been a 6 or 5 iron to fly 170 to 175 yards. 4th hole - 60° every time, just open the face a little and flop. 5th hole- great choice on the shot, just not the execution 😁. I would've used 4I to stay lowest and wide stance, play from back foot. 6th hole - you were plain unlucky. Having said that, 60° from front foot and really go for it, better to be 2 foot long than short at all. Great stuff this video though.
Really enjoyed the video Liam, playing golf like we all do, let me think option 1: easy shot Option2: Hard shot Option 3: Only for Tiger...... what do we always choose? Real golf, for real people. Thanks golf mate
Love the shirt. Why do you never tee up on the right side of the tee box, if you have the left to right? You did a video on it. I have been doing this and it gives you more confidence off the tee
When thinking about the greens keeper you had a loop in your backswing and you got steep or over the top. Love your videos. If we all had to film videos our games would suffer. Good day from Oklahoma City Oklahoma.✌️
Liam behind the trees. "I can't hit the green on a par 3, but I see a 1 foot gap in the forest that I'm going to hit thru!" LOL!! Been there way too many times!!
Good vid Liam ..ive been having some driver issues high and rights... we both have grip issues I reckon ... club face slightly open at impact ..just grip slightly stronger subtly though as can make it hook as no doubt you will know...good content lad.
When you set up for driving, do you think that you are over stretching for the ball? Otherwise keep doing what you are doing it’s great to watch you and the guys playing, learnt a lot from you all 🏌️♂️👍🏻
Liam mate. Are the greens at your course fairly flat? I don’t see a lot of extreme breaks on putts or a lot of mounds on the greens. I do see some Mackenzie tiers on a few, but beside that they appear mostly flat?
Liam, Liam, Liam. Hitting a driver off the deck. What an optimist, OMP would tell you to hit second shot to your favorite chipping distance. Good advice.
Enjoyed that Liam.. I thought you played ok cocker couple of mistakes but hey that's why we have handicaps ....good shots bad shots that's golf... Enjoy it keep at it ... Swing getting better if you ask me 👍💪💪💪
Hi Liam, enjoying your videos. It might be in the editing but you don't seem to mark your ball and give it a clean before holing out, we are now at that time of year when bits of mud are sticking to the ball. Also, do you use lines on the ball to help with your aim on short putts, long putts or both? Keep up the good work!
Nicely played again Liam! But to my mind at the difficult par 3 hole you should better have taken a 6 iron to achieve wider entrance to the green for easier chipping. The hole afterwards I think "option 3" could have been a bit too over optimistic :-) ...and brought you in a position where you always tried to compensate, trying once in a livetime shots... Great Golf on the last hole!
Nice video Liam, Just a couple of things I noticed, shorter follow through for the low pitch and right elbow closer to your hip on your full swing Hopefully will help you mate
Hi Liam, with driver have you tried standing nearer the ball so your biceps are more connected with your body to stop you coming over the top? Love the channel......
Playin well liam👍, I thought on the 2nd why not tee up on the right side of the tee and aim up the left as you loose the ball right. This would give your shot more chance of finding the middle. I am speakin as a fellow fader👍😂
This is the way golf is, one day hot one day cold. It's partly luck, partly how you are feeling. You started off so good. Some days I putt like a pro, other days they just don't go in, ah, gotta love golf.
The game gives us all a lot of “bad” so take the “good” with a smile when you get it 😊 May I suggest looking at your putts from behind the hole too? It’s helped me a lot 😊
Hi Liam. Here's something I will guarantee to tame that over the top swing. "5 Times Parallel" is the name for it ... 5 times during a full golf swing, the shaft will be level with the ground. When the SHAFT is level with the ground... it needs to be pointed PARALLEL down the target line. That's it. If you swing the club thru those 5 times level/parallel orientations... you will be perfect on plane.
If we look at your first shot with the driver in slow motion..... Your takeaway, and to the top is pretty good. club is passing through those first 2 times level/parallel. ..then look where it is pointed at the third spot... @ 2:40 it is pointed way left. So.. from the top of your normal swing.. the shaft has to come down to level and parallel to target... and then after impact the shaft will again be level with ground.. and should be pointed parallel down the target line, and the he 5th time as it passes through to the finish position.
Liam you are not releasing the club head. Point the toe of the club at the target minnie second after impact. Other comments are correct. Hands lower at address, to far from the ball with longer clubs. turn hips faster to the left and let the hips bring the arms down. Good luck.
Liam, don’t change a thing mate, you’re class either way! That being said.... OMP would of never advised going through the trees, some would say course management but if you pulled it off some would say good shot!
hi guys would love to be a propper golf mate and play a round with you guys ?? I'm a 14 handicap but I realy love the realism of golf for us trying hard golfers and I love that you play real golf when your playing well or bad you still show it .... keep at it mate your a legend and you play better than you give yourself credit
4th hole. I might have thought about chipping to the slope of the greenside bunker. Thinking that it would kick left toward the hole. Hard to tell from the video of that's a good play or not.
Liam, I would have gone with Ronseal with the first drive of the day. You get a shot on the first so a 5 is still 2 points Stableford. My thought is go with a club you feel comfortable with then ease yourself into the round.
COMMENT BELOW WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY? AND WHAT WOULD OMP MAKE ME DO DIFFERENTLY??
Short putts I say it’s a Dennis Wise a nasty little 5 footer
White one looks better👍
Great video Liam Liam keep it up
Great video Liam Liam keep it up
16min in you used ronseal and went through the green, I'd have used 5 or 6 iron to clear bunker and run on to the green leaving 2 puts for par or a possible birdie
Really enjoy these longer videos. Not every vid, but once and awhile just enjoy watching some golf and hearing commentary
Thank you

Bravo for posting this despite so-so scores. Fun to watch. It does seem your putting is struggling. The game is never easy.
Liam! You have a new golf mate! Love your videos and all the special guests. Keep up the awesome work!!
Thank you

I want to see more 5 woods Liam. The shots you have done with them recently have been great.
You need a hybrid in the bag Liam, so easy to hit especially out of the light rough.
I'm addicted to golf mates videos I need help 😂
Welcome to the AGM - Anonymous Golf Mates - meetings every Wednesday (if not bank holiday ;)
cheers mr ross
@@gasty_vom_asty 😂😂😂
Great stuff Mr. Harrison!! You da man!!!

Much better liam... Enjoyed listening to you explain what you were thinking instead of trying to make jokes👌🏻

no nothing has change but will l;ook into it
Wish I had your short game mate!! Keep up the great videos! I would also like to see you play a full round (preferably at my course: High Legh) 😉👍🏻
Liam, one thing I am learning from you is that accepting a shot is key, was the best you could do is such a great way to play. You accept, plan and then execute the next shot. Enjoyed this Liam 😉🏌️♂️⛳️🍻
Some of us who for one reason or other cannot get out on the GC these videos are up lifting . Keep on doing the great work

I really enjoy your videos, set up and content. After a long day at work it is generally what the doctor ordered. Love Pop. Straight hitting son of a gun.
Great video it’s so hard playing on your own but better than going down the range
This is the best golf I’ve seen you play.
Gidday Liam, Love the channel. Have you considered your reshot routine. I have found lining up the shot
with a mark 12" in front of the ball, has helped to concentrate on the club path . Food for thought mate. Cheers from Downunder.
Liam we need a Golf Mates Open at your home course. New shirt is great. You gonna have 4 or 5 XL for me 😂
ha dto cancel because of covid
Should be okay now mate with changes in social distancing. Hopefully you can sort it. Keep the vids coming mate!!
Love it, love it, love it. Favourite channel by a country mile a.k.a the distance between Liam and Mr Barlow drives. I would like to see a video where Joe plays. He's a magician with the filming and editing, what about a golf club?

Like that
Really enjoyed that Liam - is it worth you checking your putting line from both sides - you only seem to check from behind the ball
That was a nice 8 iron off the first T Liam!!! That gym work is really paying off for ya!!
Really good video Loved being out on the course early with the dew on the grass, the commentary, thoughts on the lie of the ball club selection and what you were trying to achieve with each shot. Fantastic Lingo. love it.
I would love to play your course as there never seems to many playing when your out there great video again mate 👍🏻

"I concentrated too much!" That's hilarious!
thats the issue with most golfers
Liam looking at your swing still over the top. A thought that helped me was take your club more around your body, defo improved my over the top
Absolutely I gone bk words
Half way through your routine on your tee shot on the 2nd you said something along the lines of "Get a Par here and walk off". Go through that routine for that shot, hit it, find it just like you say. Really like these formats of video, great to see and watch.
Always enjoy hearing a golfer discuss the autopsy of a dead shot. 😀
Joe - top camera work in difficult lighting conditions mate, class.
Liam - love that new shirt.
Feedback on your shots as I would've played them.....
1st hole - 5w every time on that 2nd shot.
2nd hole - top stuff by both you and Joe.

Love to see in comp. pal would be great.loved the vlog.❤️👍
The quality of the camerawork is top notch 👍🏻
27:44 you scared the 🐿 out of that 🌳 . I can see him thinking “what kind of idiot is disturbing my sleep. Ohh, it’s Liam” 😂😂
Fine line between good and bad rounds
Liam, you rock. Anything you bogey I can play in 6 or7.
Course looks in great nick
Thank you
That first shot came down with snow on it 🌨️⛄👌
Absolutely 9 wood
This is the best YT channel bar none
Good vid Liam ..ive been having some driver issues high and rights... we both have grip issues I reckon ... club face slightly open at impact ..just grip slightly stronger subtly though as can make it hook as no doubt you will know...good content lad.
I’m loving the new t shirt designs
thank you
When you set up for driving, do you think that you are over stretching for the ball? Otherwise keep doing what you are doing it’s great to watch you and the guys playing, learnt a lot from you all 🏌️♂️👍🏻
It looks it
Really enjoyed that. :)
Thank you
Great vid Liam, nice shirt BTW
Thank you

Nicely played again Liam!
But to my mind at the difficult par 3 hole you should better have taken a 6 iron to achieve wider entrance to the green for easier chipping.
The hole afterwards I think "option 3" could have been a bit too over optimistic :-) ...and brought you in a position where you always tried to compensate, trying once in a livetime shots...
Great Golf on the last hole!
That's a nice looking Polo. Does it come in red? Really enjoyed this vid.
Nice video Liam,
Just a couple of things I noticed, shorter follow through for the low pitch
and right elbow closer to your hip on your full swing
Hopefully will help you mate
Great Video again!
With you hitting mostly fades. Should you line up left to land your ball closer to where you want to land?
Absolutely after the event I agree
I’d like to see you film a comp, great video
Hi Liam, with driver have you tried standing nearer the ball so your biceps are more connected with your body to stop you coming over the top?
Love the channel......
Playin well liam👍, I thought on the 2nd why not tee up on the right side of the tee and aim up the left as you loose the ball right. This would give your shot more chance of finding the middle. I am speakin as a fellow fader👍😂
Lovely jam jar on the first 👍
Second tee box and you were aiming left, would you never start on the right of the box ?
Few thought there wasn't going to be a vid today now on to my guilty pleasure 😜
New to the channel...enjoying it Liam. Definitely wrong second shot on the 5th.....chip sideways and get on in 3
This is the way golf is, one day hot one day cold. It's partly luck, partly how you are feeling. You started off so good. Some days I putt like a pro, other days they just don't go in, ah, gotta love golf.
Great video Liam
The game gives us all a lot of “bad” so take the “good” with a smile when you get it 😊 May I suggest looking at your putts from behind the hole too? It’s helped me a lot 😊
You said you were going to slice it and you did!!
Always think positive!
Have to hit the fairways with your t shots....has been my problem lately too!
"i'm gonna be quiet" hahaha that aged like milk 😂😂😂
Another great video 👍btw I keep a Tee in my pocket to keep my grips off the dew
Liam where do you get the purple top from- love the colour
That polo looks pretty dapper
Hi Liam. Here's something I will guarantee to tame that over the top swing. "5 Times Parallel" is the name for it ... 5 times during a full golf swing, the shaft will be level with the ground.

Like the idea of following you on a Saturday medal. Remember time and a half on Saturday joe!!!
lol lol
