- Classroom Setup in a Middle School Setting: I can't believe that the time has already come to start my classroom setup for my English Language learners. A classroom setup during a pandemic is not like anything we have ever experienced. In this video, I will take you along my experience during a day in the life of ESL teacher. This video will be the first in a series of videos for a classroom setup for distance learning. I hope to ease any concerns and anxieties you may having so that you can get an idea of how I do a classroom setup 2020 middle school style!

Perfect! I’m teaching middle/high school for the first time this year (used to teaching university) and all the classroom set ups I see are for elementary school or kindergarten so this is great for me!
I'm looking forward to hopefully sharing with you my classroom setup journey. I thought I'd be going in on Friday to continue setup. Sadly because of Covid numbers in the county where I work, we are not allowed.

Thank you dear friend. It definitely is overwhelming when you are given only a time limit. Shortly after this was filmed, I was ready to come in the next day to film a part two and we were told by our principal that because of Covid, we could not return until further notice. My classroom still looks the same. It's been a very crazy time. However, I'm hopeful things will work out in the end since God is in control.

@@TheLanguageLady Good though I've decided to not take the summer holiday, we had the choice. I decided to work through as we were off for a good few months cause the virus.
Just make sure to take time for yourself. You matter.

You have ten iLits classes per week, right? How long is each period, and what other classes will you teach?
Hi Charlie! Thanks for watching and commenting. We are still trying to figure out how many times a week I'll be teaching iLit. The schedule doesn't allow room for me to meet with groups throughout the day and co-teach. Each period is 1 hour. I co-teach with an English Language Arts teacher.
I will definitely do more videos and share my journey with you on here and on Instagram. I think it's important that ESL teachers know they are not alone with the complexity of scheduling adequate time and supports into a master schedule.
