What accommodations help your ELLs? What struggles do you face?
Love your videos! Such helpful info for a first year teacher! Sometimes the music is too loud that it drowns out the excellent info that you provide!
Hey! I like this video because some of these points would seem obvious but teachers don't always implement. Great video and information!
Thanks so much for watching! I hope it is a helpful start for new teachers or teachers that feel stuck on where to begin with students learning a new language.
The great thing about these accommodations is that they are necessary for some and beneficial for all! Universal Design for Learning!
Hi Katie! Welcome to my channel. You are absolutely right. It boils down to best practices for all students. Which age group do you teach?
I am so glad I found this channel. I am finishing school and I will teach in an area that I know I will have ELL students. I want to be able to be the best teacher for them I can be.
I am glad you found me!! Thanks for watching.
I love the way you left the Bible and other Christian books up in the background. :-)
😀🙌
These are great tips! Teachers are such a blessing to kids!
💓💓💓
Thank you Dr. Hemphill! Great resource!
Hi Kara! Thank you for watching my video and welcome to the Language Lady family. 😊 I'm happy the resource help.
Thank you so much, Dr. Hemphil. Your channel is a godsend to instructors!!
Thank you so much. Where are you watching from?
@@TheLanguageLady the good ol' big apple, NYC 🍎 😊
I live NYC!
Dr. Hemphill, your mini lecture was great! I would really incorporate some of these strategies. However, I noticed that you missed one accommodation, you jumped from 10 to 12, no worries, I still got the most important info!
Hi Emily! Thank you for watching. Sorry about the missing accommodation. 😂
Excellent tips thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching.
Thanks for this video!
You're welcome! What topics would you like to see on this channel?
Thank you for the insightful video. Can you make a video about testing accommodations?
Thank you for the kind words. Expect a video on that topic this coming Wednesday!
OMG! I have so many of the same books you have.
Hi Sunni! That so wonderful. Tell me about yourself. What do you teach and where?
thank you
You're welcome
I'm having a hard time hearing your narration over the background music. Right around 7:30 in the video.
Yes, thanks for the feedback. This was a difficult video to edit as I'm learning a new platform. I will get that fixed in next video.
Google translate is not a good native language support if you're having students use it in a similar capacity as a word for word dictionary. The context of the word must be used in a full and complete sentence so that the correct meaning is being translated. Pulling one word out of context and pushing it through a translator is going to really confuse your students.
Thank you so much for your insight
