- Hello CraftDee Family! For today’s DIY project we will be creating a solid wood bench for displaying plants and décor for your home. This piece is inspired by a bench I saw at Country Door for $129.99. This can be used all seasons, and even used outdoors as porch decor if you seal with Polyurethane. I have provided the complete list of the supplies, tools, wood cut plan, and helpful links to products below.

Helpful Tip:
Below is how I cut the wood sizes out of each piece of 1x2x8 Wood:
Piece 1 - (4) 19.5" / (4) 3"
Piece 2 - (1) 19.5" / (4) 10.5" / (4) 7.5"
Piece 3 - (2) 19.5" / (2) 5.5" (40" will be leftover)

@@lynnheise4433 It's all self taught! I have always been able to analyze a potential project and determine the parts/sizes to recreate a similar look! I use it alot in my sewing, so I am glad that it's so useful in my crafts as well!

Hi I love your crafts and how you do your crafts step by step. i am actually making the farmhouse bench but i have a problem, the 1-1/4 screws cracked my wood. Can you tell me what i may be doing wrong for this to happen?
@@melissadavis457 this usually means that you did not drill pilot holes, or your pilot hole was not large enough.

I have a cabbage patch doll that my Grandma made and I also still have my barbie doll and she made a wedding dress and vale for it. I will put both of them on there and put in my doll bedroom. That will look fantastic in there.

P.S. I've been buying those 1×4×8 and 1×3×8 furring strips that you use and omgosh so cheap and a nice game changer for crafting. I made those wood shutters you shared with us. I ended up making 4 more sets for friends and family. My cost was $4 total for a 2 set. 😍

You can do it! I made it in one evening (waiting a few hours for the stain to dry was the longest step). Otherwise it's quick!

I love your projects, but my favorite thing is how you have your nails done beautifully, and you're busting out the power tools and making all of these amazing crafts with your manicured hand. That to me is like Wonder Woman kind of stuff.
