Hi Mike, I am so glad I am not the only one doing content on the Gladius. I actually created a short that covered the noise from the pinion and spur mesh yesterday. While I was under the cover I thought I would see how hard it is to remove the motor and pinion. I had all the same issues as you did in this video! I guess to get the cost of what is essentially a TRX4 clone down the manufacturer has had to save money somewhere. Sadly it's in things like the ESC, Servo and hardware. All the heads on mine were rounding out really easy so I purchased a load of assorted M3 12.9 grade hex head screws and I am slowly replacing them as I go. I am also doing an upgrade series, a different route to you it seems but it is nice for people to have choices. I have heavily modified mine but I also like the route you are going. I am going to do a community post with this video series from your channel so that my subs can see an alternative path for this pretty awesome truck! PS Hows the Northern lass? is that her in the reflection over your shoulder? LOL Thanks for your content mate, I hope this finds you all well. ATB Dwight The RC Family
Hi Dwight. I'm good, thanks. Hope you are. It is a slightly noisy spur, isn't it? I'd rather have a nylon spur. The glue on those screws is just crazy! I don't mind cheap screws, as long as they're used properly. I don't mind the servo.. i think it's pretty good for an RTR, so I'll stick with it for now. It's certainly good to have choices and it's good to consider different options and upgrade paths. Cheers for the mention. My wife's well, thanks. Yes, that's her in the reflection. She's got another Mashigan video due soon.
A mashigan video you say? Ooh I will look out for that. As you say the servo is not bad for an RTR version but I will most liely be swapping mine out for DS3235 in the near future aspecially as with the Fusion oyu can run a bit more juice!@@rcpie Have a good one mate and keep up the good work, I really like your channel.
Cheers, Neil. I think the next things will be a new body and I might change the servo but as of yet, it's been OK. I don't want it to be a money pit rig. It's pretty awesome, so I just want to drive it!
Just put this on my Gladius. Turns on but light flashes red. Power to servos and stealing but no motor power to wheel. Of If I change battery, wheels spin at high speed and I have to unplug. Help??
It certainly wouldn't be overkill but you'd be fine with a 1080. Loads more control and even if you later upgrade to a Fusion, you'll always find another truck to put a 1080 in! You're going to buy more trucks... You know it!🤣

11:53 I had to buy a different pinion gear as the stock Gladius one wouldn’t fit the fusion se shaft!
Yes, that's exactly what I found.
Thanks Mike, great video- you have the patience of a saint doing that with the pinion!, any further upgrades you got in mind now?
Cheers, Neil.

So glad I watched this as my fusion 1800 is on its way for the gladius. Now I have more ordering to do
Order that pinion!
Was it part no. C-71512 ?
@@DaddyDaughterRC-sw2zb Just found the packet for you..
Yes, it's a a C-71512
Thank you 👍
@@DaddyDaughterRC-sw2zb You're welcome! 👍🏻

Have you reset the Fusion? Check the manual for a full reset, then calibrate it.
Hi mate did you do the motor synchronising sequences before running it🤔🤔
Yes, it's really straightforward.
Sometimes they don't need it, though.
If it's making a stuttering noise, it needs synchronizing.
Now that will make a difference
It's great. The motor side of things isn't a massive difference but the speed controller is miles better.. as long as you turn FOC off.
I’m brand new to this hobby, for casual usage would the fusion se be overkill or swapping the esc to a 1060 or 1080 be sufficient
Haha. I think you may have already asked this. 🤣😂
UA-cam plays with us sometimes! 😎
PS I used to race 1/10 scale and the reps always use to say "cor-ally" cor as in wow and alley as in the space behind or between two buildings 😉
Good to know!
Definitely show us how you waterproof your switch please when you do it
I'll try to remember!
Reminder reminder reminder 😂
