- It's hard to get a good idea of how big just 1 Supertunia Vista can get. Hopefully this video can give you some perspective on how amazing this plant truly is!
This is a plant you can’t believe until you put it in your garden. It does need plenty of room and I only fed it once. It grew over the plants next to it and this is very good advice from Heidi. It did get eaten on one side by rabbits, but a little spray stopped that and it took about one week to fill back in completely. One fantastic plant.
Thanks for the info!
The petunias are beautiful! I loved.
thank you
Saw this last year, and, true to form, the one I put in last year grew just like this. Just fertilized twice with slow release formula. Amazing growth and number of flowers. Had to cut them back. Will be planting more this year.
Thanks for your feedback!
First time planting bubblegum supertunia this year. One plant in a troublesome corner of a bed. Grew 4x4 and I had to cut it as it was spilling over onto the walkway. I was so impressed. Gorgeous blooms, non stop.
One of the best petunias ever!! A work worker for sure.
I live in Florida- a harsh summer for sure! My Bubble gum supertunia have been in a two weeks and are 12x12 . They last through fall here, and I cut them back from the walkway several times during summer.
# 3rd year planting them🩷
I bought two today, because I need a really great ground cover for the front on my Southside. I hope they do this well. That is amazing!!
Water and fertilize and you will be pleased!
Beautiful ! I wonder why my plants seemed to dislike the black mulch. I used a fabric under it. Did that cause too much heat? They were relieved once I removed it. Tks for sharing
Yes, they’re the real bang for your bucks. They not only grow big and beautiful they are nonstop bloom machines and in my zone 6 garden they stayed in bloom up to mid December. Unbelievable.
I have never met anyone who doesn't love their Vistas :)
Can you separate/ split them to male other pots?
Also those mounds shown us that from one starting part or several? Thanks.
@@SacredSagittariusSagReadings one mound is really one plant. In my 16 inch hanging basket it was so big that by mid July basket itself was completely hidden.
As far dividing goes you wouldn’t want to do that. Because it’s annual so it’s not going to come back next year and you see the beauty of this plant is in its habit. You would want it to grow a mound in the ground or trailing in a basket. When you buy them, they aren’t going to look much so just pop them in a ground or container and get ready to be amazed.
( p.s, don’t forget to feed them during the season it will help them with optimal performance).
The mound is from 1 plant.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. QUICK QUESTION..... What is the light green ground cover behind the supertunia? I love that combination.
That is Lemon Coral Sedum
@@gardencrossings FANTASTIC..... Thank you for replying. It's a beautiful contrast. I love it. I will definitely be getting some for my front yard.
Wow
that is for sure
This is exactly, what I want! Huge mass of beautiful petuinias..🥰😍 How often do you water them?
They get watered daily and fed weekly.
So pretty! Which is the best soluble fertilizer do you recommend?
We sell Proven Winner water soluble fertilizer. www.gardencrossings.com/product/plant-food-water-soluble-fertilizer/
Hare Krishna. So nice garden ❤❤❤
Thank you!
@@gardencrossings welcome
I planted the bubblegum last year. The ones in pots did great. The ones planted in the ground didn’t look like yours. I fertilized weekly with PW water soluble fertilizer. Do you think it was the watering? I watered the pots daily but the ones in the ground maybe weekly.
Most likely it was that it didn't get watered everyday. Since they are such a vigorous plant they love their water!
Heidi, the Petunia's are beautiful. What is the lime green plant that is in the middle row?
lemon coral sedium

I planted those this year & told my hubs wait til you see what it does....they were a dud. I watered, fertilized even with PW🤷♀️ one plant that did well was the PW Rockin blue suede Salvia....huge & bees love them. What is the tree that’s blooming to the right in this video?
Reall? They usually are a no fail plant. Don't give up, I recommend you trying again. You can sendme pictures of your planting area and i can try to see what may have been the issue. The tree blooming is a very old Limelight Hydranega.
These are really beautiful! What month did you plant them and what month did they reach that size in the video ? And what planting zone ?
We planted them end of May beginning of June (plant size - 4.5" quart). They grow very fast, I would say they get this size in about 2 1/2 months. We are in zone 5b.
Your space is stunning! Do you plant the petunias in a pot in the ground or how do you get them so high and bushy? Thanks
The habit of the Vista Supertunias is 2' tall by about 3' wide if you water and fertilize well. This spot we did not do a pot i the ground but we have done that in other spaces.
@@gardencrossings thank you very much. What size pot do you recommend planting in? I’m in Australia and love watching your show.
Dammit, I just bought about 40 of these things, they look so small in the pots!
Oooooooh my word, 40!!! You are in for a treat :)
Oh wow, your going to have a gorgeous garden with all those Supertunia Vistas!
Oh wow, you'll be like Alice in Wonderland with all those flowers 😂
You’re gonna have more petunia than yard!!! You should take pics throughout the season and post a video at the end of the summer lol 🙏🏼
What would compliment supervistas in a big pot or would they just take over the whole pot? Thanks
There are actually a lot of plants that can keep up with the Supertunia Vistas growth. I will include to some links that you can look through to see what we have paired together.

I want to know about that small tree beside the petunias with the big white blooms.
It is a very old Limelight Hydrangea. We will be selling Limelight Standard Hydrangea Trees in our Garden Center if you live local to Zeeland, Mi. If you aren't local, it is our goal to start shipping the Limelight Standard Hydrangea Trees very soon!
@@gardencrossings they're very pretty
what is the trailing green ground cover in the middle?
That is Lemon Coral Sedum
How do you pinch/shape the petunias to mound like that and stay full? And how often?
We don't touch them. That is their natural habit. We water every day and fertilize once a week.
@@gardencrossings Awesome thank you!
What’s the tree to the right with the big white/green flowers?
That is Limelight Hydrangea.
Do you remember how old those plants were when you filmed?
They were probably in the ground for 4 months. But they get this big rather quickly.
@@gardencrossings Great!!!!
So is this just one season’s growth from seed or starter plant?
This started as a 4.5" pot in May and can grow to 3' wide by the end of summer.
What is the bright green plant in between the petunias?
Lemon Coral Sedum
@@gardencrossings thank you!
How much does one plant of supertunias cost??
M from India and m amazed to see this
We unfortunately do not ship to Idea. They wouldn't make the trip :)
Where I live there is one place that sells them for 4$, or $3.70 if you buy more than 10. Other places they are more than 5$!
What is the green plant behind the supertunias?

I wish in this video you had talked about the kind of fertilizer to use
here is a fertilizer video: ua-cam.com/video/iXefoHUKJh4/v-deo.html
@@gardencrossings I really appreciate how you answer questions, even years later.
What fertilizer did u use?

I planted supertunia in a planter pot but they didn't get that big and it got bugs and I'm annoyed
They certainly get larger when planted into the ground and fertilized weekly. I am sorry to hear about the bugs. Unfortunately bugs can affect any plant. See if you can identify what bug it is and spray for it.
Hi can I order some of those flowers from you Super vista
You sure can. Here is link to our website: www.gardencrossings.com/product-category/annuals/petunia/
How can I get the seed of this flower?
They don't come from seed.
Can you ship plants to Canada?
Shipping live plants to Canada is a little tricky, we have looked into it, but at this time we can't ship there... sorry😕
If you are looking for these supertunia vista bubblegums, you can find them in Canadian tires. I just bought last week ;)
@@li5152 Thank you for your suggestion. The closest Canadian Tire didn't have them, but Home Depot did! :) Safely planted, fingers crossed. It's nice that they are becoming available in Canada. I noticed the pot had a stamp that said it had been grown in St. Catharines ON. I snagged a lemon coral sedum too.
Lemon coral sedum....maybe?
Thank you. I think that's correct.
that's it!
Bubblegum is the best petunia on the planet imo.
I think there are MANY that would agree :)
With proper fertilisation, watering AND more than 6 hours of sun. This plant will not grow this big in areas with less than 6 hours of sun. This important detail wasn’t mentioned in this video.
That is correct Supertunias are a full sun to part shade plant. At least 6 hours is best.
