  • First of all WELCOME EVERYONE to my UA-cam channel. I am Mr Jones, you can call me Mr Jones.
In this video folks I show y'all "How I" seasoned my Grilla Grills new SilverBac (GGNSB). I followed the directions from both GG UA-cam channel as well as the instructions in their manual.
    ** NOTE **
As far as I can understand, it does NOT matter what pellets you use for the SEASONING because you aren't cooking anything. You are simply exposing the pit to high heat in order to burn off any bacteria and manufacturing oils. Once you are ready to begin smoking, be sure to run or dump those pellets out and input quality pellets. Yes the type of pellets you use actually matters.

Well that's unfortunate, Grilla Silverbac was on my short list and I thought they had solved the issue with the lid warping by adding the curved bracing. I know they have a temp swing so that was to be expected, theory is that it produces more smoke. I will follow along to see what Grilla does to correct the issue and how quickly they get back to you. Thanks for posting this, hope it gives you many years of great grilling/smoking results.

Hey ! I was going to make a video about all that after about a months time passed and a few cooks in. All the issues I had, which were only 3, Mark Graham was in contact with me within minutes to help me out. He gives out his cell phone number for people to contact him directly with anything. He showed me how to fix the lid issue; that was fairly simple. I got the manget yesterday, and he sent me a new internal thermometer. Although now I don't think I need it because my SB is running perfectly. Like I said, I will make a video covering all this so that everyone can see. My wife is probably my biggest critic and honestly she told me that the food I've produced has been some of the best I've made the whole time we've been together

That's great to hear. It was one of the items that put them on my short list was the customer service. Glad it's still the same as before. Winter is about to hit and I have a few months before I make my decision so will keep watching as you cook away on the Silverbac. Thank you for the videos, it is appreciated.

I was thinking about getting this grill. Do you still like it and would you recommended?

Hell yes I do. I absolutely enjoy this thing. Yea there are things I wish I could change, but I can't complain about really anything. Food still comes out great and nothing's falling apart. I went from the high desert to the frozen tundra of the midwest and nothing seems to be going wrong or changing shape

I have the 2nd Generation Silverbac, (reinforced lid). As of yet, I have not had a single problem with my grill. No gaps in the lid while cooking. It's a very dependable grill; I love it. The fluctuating temps of the grill are due to the algorithm of the electronics, it's engineered that way. Good luck

did you experience any paint flaking off from the inside during the seasoning process?

Nope and I haven't even now. Though the lid has some flaking going on,but it's not paint. I think it's just built up debris from all the various cooks.

Do you keep the lid open until you reach 450 or is it okay to close it?
