We don't need to. It's always been silly, and no matter how otherwise intelligent, compassionate, hard-working and genuinely loving a believer can be, they are always somewhat hobbled by what they think is or is not true, or useful, in their fairy tales. Their framing is off, and it can show in weird and distinctly unpleasant ways.
Then you get the "new covenant" claim that the old testament is out and the new testament is in... but this completely ignores Matthew 5 : 17-20 where (in the new testament) Jesus says that "the law" (Torah) still applies and no one gets into heaven unless they recognize that. Kinda puts the brakes on that whole cherry-picking of what to obey in the bible.
Thinking of not bowing down and worshiping someone you don’t know exists and eating and breathing without thanking this ‘all seeing all knowing master’ as “evil” sounds like a slave mentality. I mean that’s why they forced religion onto slaves in the first place. Slaves who saw another slave, eating and breathing without giving thanks to the master was brainwashed into seeing their fellow slaves as fit to be harmed and punished and told on them. That to me is an evil mentality. But I think we all should be grateful we’re present and alive and can eat and breathe in the first place. All that extra is just your personal preference/opinion. That’s why when I eat my food and breathe air that is my right, I’m thankful to my ancestors came before me that allowed for it to happen. My mother may she rest in peace that gave birth to me. Her mother that gave birth to her. All the mothers of my line that gave birth and all the fathers that protected them. The fight they endured that allows me to be here. They deserve all my thanks and gratification. Don’t demand I bow down to your made up god you can’t give proof exist then call ME evil for it.
Whilst the words purporting to be the words of any god are, some of the incidents, people and places did and do exist. To give an example Judea was a province within the Roman Empire with a governor named Pontius Pilate under the emperor Tiberius (within the relevant time period for the Jesus story). That part is true, but whether he ever tried and condemned a man named Jesus is conjecture and the Anaphora Pilati may well be fake.

This man Bob basically was like hypothetically if I’m correct on everything then you guys are wrong therefore I win 😅
I’m an atheist and yes, I definitely don’t understand the bible.
The bible because a book written by men that couldn't figure out where the sun went at night

Even if I am eating God's food, he didn't just give it to me for free. The 58 hours I worked this week paid for it.

Imagine the bullet in the foot that the canonic Church did by adopting the Old Testament as part of the Bible.
They WANTED slavery so of course they took in the Old Testament. Isn’t that funny? They didn’t even see it as an issue back then.
Every religious book is fiction.
Every word in every religious book is a work of fiction.
This one-eyed pirate is good at debating, damn!
One time during Bible study the passage for slavery came up and the explanation was that this was foreshadowing of how everyone is to be a slave for God.
Godmongers, you’ve got to admire their single minded desire to embarrass themselves!
The caller had no idea what a formal exchange of ideas involves nor was he prepared to engage in a productive point-counterpoint exchange. This dude just phones in and wings it, just like he does with his friends over a cold 40 ounces. That’s not the deal here. *eye roll*
in cases such as this one should use the outsider criterion of faith
would you accept (or question) the quran or the book of mormon when those books make claims exactly the same way as your bible ?
I would be very wary of anyone who says that they understand the bible, what kind of mind could possibly make sense of that jumble of crap?
I dare Christians to fully read THEIR Bible and explain it to Atheists then...
Bob read up on science. Then you get the best explanation how the universe came into existence. Absolutely nothing to do with bronze age storytellers telling us how the universe came into existence.
Bring yer "A' game
I don't care about the bibble, so there's that.
What kind of God inspires mere humans to write a book on his behalf that those who do not believe in him cannot accurately interpret? ANSWER: A false one.
I personally found the bible books to be gibberish, and I got bored on the begatting part in the first book, so I gave up.
Oh well, each to their own I always say.
And a good Friday Morning 🌞 AXP Fans and Theists ❤❤❤

Unfortunately Jim, that was their "A" game, they have nothing better then that, they offuscate, twist, and straight lie to continue to believe, they are some of the most dishonest people alive
Bob had nothing but an advertisement for some other show. He couldn't even come up with one bit of evidence that a god actually exists. He was not ready to have a conversation about his god with anyone.
Man was already doing this to each other. So it would be impossible for a god to show up and say "You really shouldn't do this", instead of giving instructions in how it could be done?
Despite the fact that he supposedly had no issue doing that with: Killing, Working 7 days a week, Wearing clothes of mixed fabrics, making graven images and hundreds of other things that mankind was also “already doing” 😂
Imagine calling Solid Snake and not being ready to debate
Thanks!
Bob goes right the the worst christian apologetic
"People already did evil things!"
Yeah, and they were also murdering each other and god decided to ban killing but not to ban slavery. Because people were already doing bad things. Good logic :D
To my Lover: Wow how you made this 🎂? My Lover (god): I LOVE YOU but it’s 🤐, I can’t reveal it by my voice. I’ll send a SPOKESMAN (pastor, apologist, etc) to prove I made (created) it😅
Life on this planet in this great nation at this perfect time in this spectacular human form IS the Heaven folks desire in an afterlife dream while wasting valuable rime worrying about your spirit instead of improving THIS life.
I'm pretty sure every theist caller has watched way too much Dodgeball....It's always "dodge duck dip dive and dodge" with these people.
We are a rather mixed lot in Virginia, ‘Bob’ doesn’t represent me.
Yet they quote the most evil book ever printed in there delusion
The Bible: Who gives a shit what that immoral, divisive, hypocritical, book of fairytales has to say?
You might as well quote Harry Potter and Peter Pan!
Jim, are you drinking Dr. Pepper? That’s the devil’s brew, you know!
He’s an adult, he can drink whatever he wants.
Sup with the eye patch? Pretty cool…
What difference does it make whether atheists understand the Bible or not? We do not view it as a holy book so who cares what it says.
That goes to say you have to teach the bible to these religious radicals. So embarrassing 😅
I hate that they hung up on that guy they were having fun with his stupidity 😂
Ideations of the theist with their presupositions and assertions of claims.
I have no interest in that old book so why would I read it.
