The Blitzer Beatle is awesome!
got one to build at christmas........looking forward to it 😁
That’s awesome Carl 😇👊🏻
The Blitzer Beetle is far and away my favourite Tamiya. I run mine with a 3700 kv brushless on a 6 cell NiMH. It's a wheelie machine on short grass and just a riot to run. I'm glad to see you build one Glenn.
Thanks Brian 😊👊🏻
I'm a sucker for an old school pickup, I bet the Blitzer would look great with a Patina effect Midnight Pumpkin body.
Yeah blitzer beetle 👌
Cheers Richard 😇👊🏻
I've literally just ordered one. I can't wait for it to arrive so I can get started.
Perfect timing. I just took my Blitzer beetle out for it's first blast. Lots of fun!!!
Outstanding my friend 😎👊🏻
Morning Glenn. Check out Mark Bryan rc video on steering mod. Swap the front uprights around so the ball joint/ steering rods are on the bottom. After swap , press front end down and front wheels stay straight 👍
Oh wow awesome I’ll check that out 😇👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends in stock setup , front wheels toe in at the back under compression. Swap uprights and wheels toe in at front under compression
Super awesome video.......can't wait to see it finished 😀 🙌
I really like the Blitzer Beetle, one of my favorites. Now I'm imagining a Sand scorcher themed version🤔😁.
Oh yeah that would be awesome 😎
Awesome build.
Thank you 😊
I always wanted one since they 90s but back then I got the Bear Hawk instead which is basicly the same car. Finally got the Blitzer this black friday. The steering rods look so much better on the Beetle.
That’s awesome 😎
Thanks for watching 😇👊🏻
Great build…..
This is one of those videos that after you watch you think damn I want one!
Haha thanks for watching 😇👊🏻
Pretty cool car. You could make a sand scorcher that can go to the moon at the bmx track. That would turn some heads!
Love the look of these, up there with '88 Avante for me! 😎👍
Well as it was really never on my radar, I can’t believe just how good it looks finished 🤩
One of my favorite Tamiya cars. So much opportunity to customize it into a rat style buggy. With that being said, the box art is fabulous. That is why I bought 2 kits. Lol
You bought two, that’s not like you my friend 🤣🤣👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends lol, usually get 2 for me and 1 for you.
@@rcicons4915
I know 🤣👊🏻
Always loved this one and Tamiya nailed the box art. Great to see it being built Glenn 👍🏻
Thanks buddy 😎👊🏻
I'm just about to get one of these to add to the collection and the vid was a great help.
Thank you for all the hard work.
One question in have always had is so you get to do this full time now.
Many thanks 👍👍
Excellent. That looks great as is if I'm honest.
Yeah the Blitzer Beetle is an awesome looking car, chassie is simple to build but works really good. Great build Glenn.
Thanks for watching my friend 😇👊🏻
Amazing video Glenn do like the blitzer beetle did have one sold it to malcolm on the rc legends page 😪😪thank god you put bearing in 🤣🤣 before everybody went mad at you 😆
Thanks buddy 😅👊🏻
There is something about these older Tamiya chassis and their simply design that makes them a joy to build, This is one that I really want to build myself..
Looking forward to seeing the running video
Thanks buddy 😇👊🏻
I am looking forward to seeing this run, Cheers and Happy New year , all you do is very much appreciated.
Awesomeness Glenn l always think when l have had this in the past l will do something different to boxart but always end up going down the boxart road lol👍 cool and pops big time!
Oh yeah it really does pop, a great looking thing tbh James 😇👊🏻
One of my favorites too. I raced one recently at the vintage bash and went surprisingly well. Lack of gearing choices is a pain.
That’s awesome 😎
Yes those are nice. With the black body one could create vary neat custom liveries. Looks good.
Yeah a great platform to customise 😇👊🏻
I do love seeing these whizzing around the track, i may have to get one. We have truck racing sometimes, be a giggle to throw one around 😎
Yeah I’d imagine that would be a lot of fun 🤩
Great build Glenn. These Blitzer cars are great.
Thank you 😊
Always thought this car would be cool with the trailing arm rear suspension from the falcon, I believe the chassis was designed to accept it. Those plastic rear hub adapters crack pretty easily, aluminum versions would be a good idea.
With both you and Addams Playground putting up videos of this I am now adding it to my want list. 😁
Excellent 😇😇👊🏻
Blitzer Beetle is definitely in my list of to get from Tamiya.. love it .. great build Glenn
Thank you 😊
Looks great and will stay tuned for the body completion. 👍🏻
Video coming soon 😅
I think that is superb Glen.. That looks like a load of fun!!!. When I see that chassis I just can’t help thinking that surely Tamiya could Re-Re the falcon!!!. Looking forward to seeing it run👍👍👍
Thanks Darren yeah it was fun to put together my friend 🤩👊🏻
Nice one Glenn. I love my Blitzer, I got it 2nd hand and I'm sure it started out as a Stadium Thunder because it has the yellow wheels and a polycardonate beetle body. It's so much fun to drive, I have a Reedy Firehawk motor in it which gives it a bit of punch! I would say it's my go to runner along with my Manta Ray.
Excellent George 😎👊🏻
Hi Glenn I've just spotted that pinion guide marker thing I mentioned many many videos ago it's on step 4 in the manual 🤣, I new there was one on some old kits.👍
Haha yeah I remember that 😅👊🏻
G'day Glenn fun build mate bloody awesome car Blitzer Beetle looks absolutely amazing on the shelf and it's one of the better driving cars that Tamiya have. The decals are a little time consuming 3 hours to get the chassis built and 3 days to do decals lol👍
Haha yeah I found the decals a little awkward 🙈
awesome lil kits and great vid as always sir 😉
Awesome build👍love that chassis too! It shares some other great RC’s on it.
Thanks for watching buddy 😊👊🏻
I watch my video of it running even though I had a lot of mishapsody but next year and everything should be in order.
Love a beetle…..just been looking at these kits as well 🤦♂️
Haha love it 😇👊🏻
That thing is screaming for a fast motor. 🙂
Yeah I’d imagine I’ll go 4370kv on 2s 😇😇😇
@@TAMIYALegends Can't wait!
Nice build Glenn. This was my reintroduction to RC! I went custom paint on the hard shell for the shelf (kinda Bigwig style using curved masking - now that was a mission!), sprayed the wheels darker and then got another set with semi tarmac tyres and a lexan body for general use - Kamtec, they do a few Beetles that fit. I know it’s already been mentioned in comments, but def check Mark Bryan’s steering mod - obvious genius! - and also Mick at RCHobbyShed for the fettling he does to his - wish I had his skills and shed 😂 Keep up the great work and I’ll look forward to the next parts (run it on short grass and you won’t destroy the finished body!)
Fantastic thanks for watching James 😊👊🏻
Great work Glenn. I feel like this was done for me as I’ve kept banging on to you about it! Can’t wait to see the body video!
Haha thanks Paul 😇👊🏻
It is a great buggy and fun runner! The decals can be a bit fussy but they look great once it is all done!!!
Great job I have that car in my wish list .
Hope you get one my friend 😇👊🏻
Cool build...i bought one in 2013 and ran some serious motors through that gear box and never had a problem,,theyre bullet proof ...wheelie machines aswell...handle brilliantly ...only issue is the body can get damaged quite easily as they are hard plastic so i suggest a basher body and a pristine one for the shelf👍
Excellent thanks for watching and your feedback my friend 😇👊🏻
I see how using the falcon bath tub but with a lot of better front end parts must make this a load of fun.
Yeah I’ve run the Stadium Thunder and it was a blast 😇👊🏻
Great video mate my daughter has one And it's absolutely awesome 👌
That’s awesome Mark 😎👊🏻
Nice build 😊
Cheers Adam 👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends I’ve had this kit in my garage for years! Every time I drive in I look at it and think I must build that!
Very cool build Glenn, looked really good fun!, Ive always fancied doing a monster beetle livery on one of these but maybe a 'Monster Blitzer' mixup! do the rere sandscorcher, monster beetle and blitzer beetle all share the same body? besides the colour ofcourse? Keep up the top work mate 👍🏻
I would love to se Glenn run them together. Perhaps do a timed lap on a gravel track or some handling comparison.
Thanks Nick 😎👊🏻
I thought it said "Monster beetle", and went "woah, thats some diff upgrade Whaat...gearhousing looks soo different than frogs hmm..what...not trailing arms?! Thats like bear hawk! Ah....Blitzer!" Lol
Do a Futaba FXT and we will be impressed…
Yep that’s a cool car for sure 😇👊🏻
Tamiya race developement global have a €45K reward for anyone who can find a mod to eliminate the bump steer AND get full lock steering!
🤣🤣👊🏻
Hmm, I need to order one of these and have a go with it then...lol
I have mine on a home hobby 21 and it was given to me by the elf.
Lover the videos ima having trouble puting the rear battery thing in so the plat can secure the battery doesn't show in the manual your looks like it on top of something any help would be appreciated
Btw as long as you warm your paint cans you can spray in cold weather
Yeah I’m doing that and the results aren’t too bad 😅
@@TAMIYALegends that’s the great thing about lacquer, it’s pretty forgiving
So awesome!!! This and the Kyosho Beetle are 2 cars I really want badly...
I love stadium trucks , and Beetles....used to have a 68 VW when I was in tech school... I hope they ReRe the Stadium Blitzer eventually.
Glen, or any other Blitzer owners...how's the steering setup on these, is it decent as far as lack of slop and such? Been working on making some other Tamiya cars be able to track straight, something that hasn't really been an issue with any other cars I've owned, out of well over 30 now.
Lastly, when I build one of these, any upgrades I should do besides bearings and a slightly hotter brushed motor? I don't wanna bash it hard and break it in 2, but I DO plan to run it a decent bit and have fun with it... maybe even turn some laps at one of our local tracks ... wondering if there's any specific upgrades for it's common issues , or if I just have to keep those in mind when running it, and possibly pick up a few spare parts to keep handy...
Cheers!!!
Well I’ve ran the Stadium Thunder standard apart from bearings, I thought it runs great tbh 😇👊🏻
Great stuff Glennn. I have one of these. It's pretty much the car the Monster Beetle should have been. My one has TRF shocks, Kimborough servo saver, and a brushless system. It goes very well.
My only regret is that absolutely awful job I did of the body and stickers.
Thanks I’m looking forward to getting it finished 😇👊🏻
Hi Glen.. cool build my friend.. thinking of buying a kit.. is there any hop ups available for this chassis? I have looked but can't really find anything but the bearing kit.. love the channel.. Graeme.
Hi good I watched your video to help build mine
Now iv got to paint it what do colour black do I use and is is spray can that you used thanks
Hi, which Pinion would you recommend for the Beetle? I wanna use a 19T Team Orion Brushed Motor
Happy Saturday my friend 👍 does your new house have a paint booth or a heated garage 🤔?
No unfortunately not 🙈
That bracket is to hold like the rear bumper.
Glenn did you forget the oil in the back shocks?
No it’s in there buddy 😅
Does it accept regular modern race truck tires? Like associated, Jconcepts?
I'm crying because non of the RC brands are available in INDIA
🤕🤕🤕
Damn that sucks
ARE THOSE THE SAME TYPE OF TIRES/TREAD DESIGN AS THE ORIGINAL TAMIYA MONSTER BEETLE?
Did you say box art?😁
Needed yellow CVAs......
Yeah totally agree 😇👊🏻
Promo sm 🤤
I will never use that company again.. I ordered a truck off them and never got it all they said it’s on its way had to get my money back from the bank.. beware from ordering from them
Oh no that sucks 🤕
I've built a few of those chassis and such a simple build but so good and the gearbox is bullet proof the blitzer beetle is such a brilliant back street basher👍
And it looks sooooooo good 😊
