Something that always confuses and concerns me is how some Kardashian fans swear their beauty is natural, it's either makeup or weight loss or gain or them aging. They would argue with you until they get the final word because it's that offensive to speak against the Kardashians or to not be a fan of them and even then it's not enough for those die hard fans, like common now. 🙃

Kylie Jenner had grown women I personally knew wanting to get lip fillers. Our natural features weren’t even appreciated on us but were trendy on them 😢…. I’ve never invested in any lip kits or KKW products because I’m not about to support trends that capitalize off of my natural features.

I marvel at it because for me I do not have what I consider the filler look but their are days I know them lips are those of a black woman and then days they look thin as hell
Another thing that gets me is that none of them were ever really "ugly" and it shows how insecure they were/are. It's even sadder when you think about the fact that ALL of them have daughters so I can't imagine the self-esteem issues that will develop from being raised by them.

That reunion special they had last year really showed their true faces lol. And I was shocked. They all looked different from their social media, but it was more so Khloe and Kylie that looked absolutely different.
Khloe has probably had more surgery than any of the rest of them, she looks completely different now from 10 years ago, like another person

I can say I feel like they really are toxic af and always have been. They really started all these trends of lip fillers, BBLs, etc. they’re a huge influence as to why many young women started getting these procedures. I never got why they were so boosted. The most natural is Kourtney
I agree, they started this plastic surgery trend with the bbls and now us black women who have always had booty and breasts jumped on the surgery train!!! Now, it seems like they are slimming down, they aren't as thick as they were just earlier this year!!! The Kardashians never held a gun to our heads to follow them, watch their shows and consume their products and try to look like them. That's on us. A lot of female rappers and beauty influencers fall into that same "faux body" category as the Kardashians. I'm just gonna tune them out and embrace me.
Exactly. Idolizing these women (or anyone for that matter) is a choice and a result of lack of self confidence/satisfaction. I know people who love this family so much that they now look like them. They now look fake/bloated. It’s sad.

I don’t remember, but I do think her being disingenuous about her lip enhancement definitely caused people physical harm. So crazy!!!

It's just very interesting & kinda alarming how many black women willingly support that brand. Nobody talks about it & I think it's time for a deep dive on that topic. You'd be the perfect person to do it.
The co founder of skims is a black woman. So In my opinion; it sounds like they strategically did that so they can market to black women.

I don’t think they should feel responsible for how people perceive them. If I feel insecure because of a celebrity or feel that I need to look like them to meet a standard they have set for themselves, that is simply a me problem. I think people need to start holding themselves accountable and just log off if they can’t handle it. The people is what made them famous, the people is who follow them, the people is who buy their products, the people are who make videos and insta posts about them.
No arguments there! I never followed them, never been a fan, none of that. But I'm full grown, I know who I am, I know my worth, and I am satisfied with my appearance. With that being said, the core fan base of the Kardashians is probably ages 15-30. These teenagers and young women are probably dealing with negative feelings about their body and they look to the Kardashians as role models, they see that these women are glamorous and sought after and it is having a very negative impact on a generation of young women. I could care less about all of the plastic surgery they've had, but it is wrong to tell their legions of fans that their look is all "natural" when they know damn well they can't even stand near an open flame for fear of all of that plastic melting.
FINALLY someone who sees it my way! They are in no way, shape or form responsible for how others feel about THEMSELVES! If anyone can make you feel some type of way about yourself, that's a YOU problem! No one is responsible for your own insecurities. They don't owe the public an explanation on the work they've done to themselves. It's simply nobody's business and I'm NO fan!

Another great video Chioma! But to add to the conversation let’s also forget how they used the black men to uplift themselves as well. They used the status of those black men for power, baby making and money because understand black people’s power yet it’s sad these black men gave them opportunities but never bring those same opportunities home. 😢
It truly saddens me to see black men flock to these women like lambs to the slaughterer!!! They have been passed around the NBA like communion at church on Sunday, and these ball players are all in line waiting for their turn. Yeah people love bringing up how Kim. Kourtney and Khloe have Armenian in them but even before the surgeries and enhancements, they were never super dark. Like even as kids they look no different from any other pale white kids, so it's funny how people like to try and bring that up. Armenians are like Italians, they may be able to tan easier than someone who's German or British, but that still doesn't change the fact that they're white.

They are using the same formula as their ancestors. I do think they are internally insecure b/c as beautiful as they are, they are still having photographers, websites, editors etc filtering all their looks, deleting all unflattering pictures and putting beauty filters on their live streams to maintain this standard of beauty themselves are struggling to stick too as they age. It’s absolutely bizarre the hold social media has on people. It truly shows how insecure A LOT of our “faves” are and people who are at the “top” of the social media/internet hierarchy… to follow or aspire to share UNREALISTIC features and basically become caricatures of women who have NEVER experienced or have walked in the shoes of the everyday woman is tragic in itself. And then to hit a certain pinnacle of wealth and perpetuate the SAME toxic and destructive behavior onto OUR community is crazy! The people we helped to get famous on Instagram for having the “aesthetics” of being “wealthy” just simply following what Kim, Kylie and Khloe did years ago🥴😔
It shows how insecure we are. Every session I have with younger ones I encourage them to be themselves. I always tell my nephew be you with all your imperfections and I have always reminded myself even when I felt the least that all my perceived imperfections make me perfectly and uniquely me.
And even if they want to say they workout to lose weight so quickly, they have access to the best trainers, nutritionist, medication etc. They average person is on their own

As a black European I can assure you that the beauty standards for a lot of Arab girls/young ladies in Europe is Kylie. Girl, whether you believe it or not, Kardashians are still the reigning Queens of beauty according to social media and shows like Entertainment Tonight, Extra, and Inside Edition! Some people have moved on (I'm proud to say that I was never a fan, never caught up in their hype), but women ages 15-30 still see them as the gold standard of beauty, because men, especially black men still see them as the most beautiful and desirable women in the world, it's really ridiculous!! So perhaps you have moved on, good for you, but sadly a large population of young women have them on a pedestal.

As an Armenian I’d like to make a quick correction. Armenia is not in Europe. It is in southwest Asia. It is located in Caucasia. Hence the term Caucasian. The caucuses mountains span Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, eastern Turkey and northern Iran. Kim’s family actually escaped Erzurum before the Armenian Genocide, which is located the Middle East. The modern map of Armenia is not the only representative of historical armenian identity.

Reality tv wasn't new it was just growing more popular it was the rise of it when you were a kid. I'm little older than in my 30's. I remember stuff like college hill, punke'd, The real world, Osborn, fear factor, Next, Whitney & Bobby show. Not mentioned all the talk shows that are considered reality tv.

5:18 girl, you have a surgeon on speed dial. Not to mention it's easier to maintain the body once the hard work of surgery is done. It's harder to keep a natural body in shape when you have a job, kids, stress, bills. I mean its possible but takes a lot of work. Imagine everything is done for you. Without stress, I'd be a size 6 easily.

You're not wrong but for most of us grown women we know the deal and we have the maturity and knowledge to know that it's all BS, a Kardashian could NEVER influence or have any effect on my self esteem whatsoever but I think the danger is how they confuse the youth. The younger preteens and teenagers that are more susceptible to being influenced, that haven't fully developed enough to know better, their self esteem/worth isn't fully intact yet...those are the ones I worry about. Can u imagine being a young impressionable girl in this modern beauty obsessed era with regular peer pressure then social media/Kardashian influence on top of that? There's no way it won't have damaging effects on them.
