@@midnight_rain Not everything. A lot of the times the parents and Ms. Abby fighting and yelling were real, along with the kids crying. Season 7 and 8 were kinda really staged though. Sometimes the costumes and props would be “missing” because the producers decided that stealing items that cost money was okay. They also would cut scenes out changing how the argument was seen. They would also control the parents and kid’s Twitter accounts, idk about Abby though. Ultimately, it still doesn’t change how it affected the kids.
Por donde abby era "pluz size" abby era una obesa mórbida, una hamburguesa más en su dieta y la tía se moria de un paro cardíaco, una mujer pluz size al lado de abby se ve delgada, por favor
This woman isn't a 'strict teacher', she's just a bully. Strict teachers don't need to yell at kids or pick on their appearance. Sometimes kids cry in competitive environments, but that's when you drop what you're doing and make sure they're okay before bringing them back in. What she does is she tries to make good reality TV, and good reality TV is incompatible with good teaching and childcare.
There is this movie s'eries here in Germany created decades ago about a ballet dancer named ''Anna'' in the movies she grew up from a kids dancer, many problems to actually a teenage competitive ballet dancer with a very strict teacher. I compare it, because it also wasn't really real :D And while as a kid I hated that teacher I also know the differences to ... Abby. Like. The teacher was correcting Anna harshly, kind of mean and wanted to have every detail perfect. But after all she never really bullied Anna. She showed her the truth of life in the show-world. Yeah I mean ... just a movie series but .... it was much more Drama than dance moms but at the same time so much more .... human.
@@carmenrider8216 No, there’s a difference. Strict Teacher: If you want to succeed, you need to work harder. Bully: You’ll never amount to anything. You’re the worst.
A weird detail is that in the Latin American dub, she has the same VO actor as Cartman from South Park, and it fits her so much, because they are basically the same person.
Seriously! I have to get in an argument with people over the internet because they saw Abby doing one good thing and think she's amazing. "The media portrays her in a bad light" so THAT'S why they cut out the line that Abby made about Chloe's medical condition related to her eye right? Or why they weren't filming when Abby said she didn't want "any little Tooties" on her show? Or maybe that's why all girls showed signs of PTSD, anxiety, and other mental health issues following their time on the show.
One parent argued with her she was like "ArE yOu InSuLtInG mE bEcAuSe Of My DiSaBiLiTy?" when she insults kids based off of stuff they can't control all the time.
Not gonna lie I was like this when I was first watching the show. I thought she was doing what was best for the students. I stopped watching when Jojo first joined the show and when I googled it just now she joined in 2015 so I was 12/13. Wow looking back I was so wrong. I don’t know how I thought that was just a strict teacher.
people saying “it’s okay because it’s Abby” is literally what shane dawson said when defending jeffree’s actions, “what do you expect? it’s Jeffree fucking Star” as if that’s an excuse. notice how Gordon Ramsay doesn’t treat kids that way on Master Chef Jr, because they’re just kids, in an already competitive environment....
Gordon Ramsey is a perfect example of being a true “tough teacher” he’s tough when he needs to be, and soft when he needs to be, yes you’ll see him yelling at contestants, but it’s only towards the food they make, he doesn’t yell for his own twisted satisfaction but to simply help them grow in the cooking industry, plus he will always later tell them what they did wrong kindly and tell them how to improve. It’s called “tough love” which is what Abby completely abused and said rude hateful disrespectful things and then covers it up by saying, “oh it’s just tough love deal with it”.
@@isabellemackwell2262 even then, Ramsey doesn’t yell at the kids and even with the adults he knows how to read the room. Like there was one guy who Ramsey accidentally triggered (bc he used a insult the dude associated with his abusive dad) and Ramsey immediately backed off and apologized.
Things that Abby is good at: - being mean to children - being mean to parents in front of their children - being on _two_ billboards - getting arrested - being edited to look better - throwing tantrums at little girls I mean, look how talented she is. No wonder she thinks so highly of herself.
"I can make a child cry in 30 seconds." Good for you Abby. Anyone else can slap a kid across the face and make them cry on 3 seconds, but you don't see them bragging about it. It takes a special kind of malicious narcissist to be proud of how good you are at inflicting psychological abuse on little girls.
I just realized that ava, the girl that was kicked out because she was too tall, is the same girl that plays the role of jodi in "tall girl". Which is about the girl getting bullied for being tall.
A really hate it when adults call teenagers young adults during certain situations and call them CHILDERN with other situations. Like those are not the same words mate what do you really expect from teens!?
Yep! My own mother does that. Toxic parents really are fond of picking and choosing when their kids are “stupid kids” or “young adults” when it’s suitable for their argument.
I don't understand how lifetime got away with airing actual child abuse and child endangerment without any civil or legal repercussions. There are a lot of people that need to serve actual prison time for this show.
They - *_Lifetime Network_* - should be a LANDFILL by now; No employees, no money, their headquarters building a *_SMOLDERING pile of ashes,_* just.... Oh my God!!
"I could probably make a kid cry in thirty seconds." Ooh, what a tough scary badass you are. You can make children cry. Because THAT'S really hard to do.
the fact is: Abby is such a talented person for: -bullying children -throwing tantrums -getting edited -getting arrested -not having good arguments SUCH A TALENTED PERSON 😍👏👏

I remember my sister used to be obsessed, and I mean OBSESSED with this show. I didn’t like the amount of drama, but I never stopped to consider how truly atrocious it was.

It's sad that Jojo Siwa, the literal child, was more mature than this woman. (For historical purposes, this comment will remain. Connor The Undying does not condone the actions of Jojo Siwa.)
it's really sad that jojo is so shamed now for acting like a kid (which she still is) and just living her life the way she wants, when people like abby stay intact.
@Radio Star 17 year olds are literally children. both the body and the brain aren’t fully developed until around age 25. one of the reasons 18 is the legal adult age in america is because they needed more people to draft. so yea 17 is a literal child because they are 8 years away form being fully developed edit: since some of you can’t understand that a child isn’t strictly 5 year olds here’s this. no i’m not saying a 17 year old an 5 year old have the same brain development. i’m saying we should keep in mind brain development when talking to/about humans under 25. a 18 is capable of living alone and voting even so they aren’t fully developed and are stil tencilcly a child and that should be kept in mind when dealing with them and for yourself you shouldn’t feel bad for not being able to do everything a 25 year old can when your 18 because ‘your both adults’ because you aren’t both fully developed so you don’t need to have everything together. and maturity and brain development aren’t the same thing.
I’m not exactly a fan of JoJo Siwa, but I am thoroughly entertained by the fact that she went on to have an immensely more successful and meaningful career than Abby
Am I the only one who's really pissed off at the fact that the editors made all these people look like conceited, narcissistic assholes, but somehow made Abbey look better? What's worse is that they were basically slandering these people's names on national tv.
My emotionally and verbally abusive dad and his narcissistic wife really loved this show, huh its a mystery. But they used to actually use it as an excuse to treat me in a similar way
“If you yell at me, i'm _gonna_ cry.” “Go. Out.” Jojo litterally is like, so calm and just spat logic, and Abby acts like a little girl I respect Jojo so much for staying collected while basically crying.
Honestly, it's interesting looking back at the show now. Including all the things you mentioned, there was so much racism, sexualization and exploitation of minors, and disregard for mental health. As someone who used to watch the show when I was younger, I feel disgusted when looking back. I'm glad that cast members like Jojo and Nia seem to be happy, but upsetting that most children cast members are obviously suffering mentally. I wish all of the children cast members the best.
Especially when she constantly type casted nia and never allowed holly to say something or else she’d take away her only roles. Yet the other moms get to scream and curse at her, which holly has never done. Its so gross on her part😒
SCREAMING i didn't expect to see an olivia hye profile picture here. and yes i totally agree so many microaggressions, racism, sexualization, and trauma. i feel so bad
Why the hell were there children in what seemed to be bikini tops? Also I’m shocked how Jojo turned out. Kinda heartwarming how positive she turned out
Those outfits are useful for dancing alot, it doesn't catch on anything, allows movement without restraint and stops the dancers from overheating. I understand what you are saying though.
Jojo turned out well because she & her mom gamed Abby from the start. Like using her iconic bows to give her a "brand" that made Jojo stand out. They absolutely played Dance Moms & won
That’s actually pretty normal dance attire. It’s just easier to dance in and allows breathability. Younger kids especially tend to go for the bras and shorts, and as they get older usually transition more into leggings.
When it comes to harsh teachers, I would like to point out that Gordon Ramsey, unlike Abby, never yells at kids, as he understands that they could be driven away from cooking due to a bad experience, so he encourages them to keep trying and get better. So no, Abby wasn't rude because she was a harsh teacher. She was just an asshole
Gordon is an absolute sweetheart to kiss the difference is mind blowing. Verbally abusing adults it’s still bad but at least he draws the line with little kids
Agreed, Gordon Ramsey is actually a very nice person. He’s just very strict with his adult chefs. It’s crazy that people try to excuse Abby by saying it was “tough love”. It was flat out abuse, period.
THIS👏 idk if abby has kids but gordon ramsey does and maybe that’s why, he realizes that yelling and degrading is really damaging to kids. i don’t ~love~ when he yells at adults but i feel like he knows they can handle it. Abby is just a bully
Abby behaves like a kid herself. That is not how an adult behaves. Also according to some comments in her videos (which I think are now deleted) she doesn't even know much about dancing since she was teaching incorrect moves.
Well, abby is a narcissist, like a legitimate narcissist. She literally shows all signs of narcissism. Being: 1. Insulting everyone to put herself on a pedestal and to make everyone submissive through fear 2. Gets borderline violent when confronted about their inflated ego 3. Cannot stand the idea of someone doing better than her in any way shape or form 4. Pitting dancers against each other to create division and to make the dancers fight for abbys affection creating division (either by picking favs or putting one down while glorifying the rest)
@. I feel so fucking bad for her. We all had a good laugh at the movie but seeing why she feels the way she does... it's so sad. None of those kids deserved what happened to them; it sucks they have to carry those insecurities and pain with them forever now. 😪
My ex-girlfriend is a dance instructor. She used to watch this show. We broke up because she became more and more like Abby. On what planet is it okay to arrange kids in a literal pyramid?!
I’m glad jojo got out of this mess and found her own claim to fame. Also something notable about dance moms is that In one of the earlier episodes, you can hear a cast member whispering lines to a child. I don’t remember the kid’s name, but she was the candy apple’s mom’s kid and it was a scene in the kid’s room.
My mum did the same thing and I always thought it was because she was so emotionally unaware (I recognized she was verbally abusing me a lot before that but not this particular thing). Wow. Thank you my mind is kind of blown
I honestly got a bit triggered by the "don't cry" tactic. Had abusive parents. I ended up developing borderline personality disorder which I'm sure was because of my upbringing. Having emotions from stressful situations then being totally invalidated over it. It fucking sucks.
Funny thing is that after how badly Abby treated Jojo, she's practically crawling back to her and tying Jojo's success to herself. Even Jojo points out sometimes how badly she was treated and how nice she has it now, but moreso in a playful way so she doesnt sound like she resents Abby or is trying to turn the narrative against her. Jojo seems like such a kind girl, I'm glad she found success in all that mess.
Remember the time she threw a chair at a little girl and started screaming that “she was fine” when the mother got upset. The camera was mostly focused on the adults but you could see her visibly scared and shaken the kid was.
@@elijahyes3110 don't be afraid to stand up to her. politely of course, don't give her the satisfaction of anger. you dont need to let her fragile ego hurt you if you dont want it to. rely on others in your family if your mother has proven to not understand what it means to be one. of course give her credit for where she does right, but don't ever feel obliged to submit to her if she's done you a lot of wrong.

I actually knew Abby Lee when I was a kid. My sister danced at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio in Abby's "Abby Lee Dance Company," and I had to be there a lot, so I know a little bit about how Abby Lee was in person. To be fair, she was nice to me, probably because I wasn't actually part of her whole dance domain. I was just some little kid who was always bumming around the place. Your assessment is pretty accurate about how she is to her students and parents off camera, though. She screamed at those kids often, and crying was pretty common. They were all terrified of her. She definitely did ridicule the kids for petty things that were out of their control. They had to have their hair in buns so tight it was painful, and my sister told me that for the older girls, they had to have leotards so tight that their was absolutely no jiggle in their chests, or they'd get torn a new one. The pyramid wasn't real, but there was a ton of political tension about who got solos and duets and stuff, so in spirit, it did kind of go down like that. The political stuff also created this whole cutthroat atmosphere, even with the parents. You definitely didn't need producers to create drama. It was way too much stress for my sister to have at such a young age.
Zack Peterson Is your sister doing okay now? That sounds like absolute Hell for a kid to go through. I’m no parent, but from watching some videos on mental welfare I know that it usually isn’t a good idea to subject young kids to toxic environments like Abby’s studio. How’s she doing now?
How is your sister😢is she ok cause i am genually worried for her i hope she is ok cause that studio is just not a great place for a kid to be and it can really damage someone mentally
@@katsukibakugou9519 Realistically, I don't think her experiences at the dance studio had a huge impact on her life. We all have ups and downs, and we've been through way worse than that. There were also positive experiences at dance. My sister is doing well now, on the whole. She's working as a landscape architect.
My niece was in dancing for part of her life and she was brilliant at it. Still is whenever she's on stage. But one day, one of the other dance moms literally came up to my six year old niece and told her "You gotta stop dancing so well. You're making Achleygh look bad." (I WISH I was kidding about the spelling of that name. I am dead serious, that's how it was spelled.) My sister immediately pulled her out of dance and left a scathing review on the website calling the woman out as well as the studio for the terrible treatment. Insanely, the lady tried to take her to court for slander and libel, but the case was dismissed because it's a business review which falls under Fair Use. My niece entered theatre and honestly was a hell of a lot happier. The world of dance is just INSANE.
Maybe these kids are all in the wrong dancing schools, there’s plenty of other schools that don’t sexualize minors or overly express feminine stereotypes.
I can’t believe you all are comparing her to Gordon. Gordon isn’t that bad, come on. He only really insulted people who practically poisoned others while claiming to be a great chef. He treats kids good
Exactly. He only yells at the adults who claim to be “world class chefs” and they are making rookie mistakes or being lazy. They should already know better. It’s common sense to not store your poultry with fucking vegetables.
No one said he was bad. Thats why people are comparing him. Gordon understands kids unlike Abby. He s treats them like a father they never had,, while Abby just emotionally abuses her students. Though Gordon is harsh on the adults on hells kitchen because they come on the shows expected to be professional chefs and they think they can cook, tho a lot of them can't. Hes harsh on them because the are old enough to know better.

Exactly, I mean why is a middle-aged woman so pissy about a little girl’s hair? It’s *hair* and it doesn’t effect her dancing skill whatsoever, because it’s not on her feet or legs, it’s on her head. If Abby wasn’t literally abusing children, I would laugh at her ridiculousness.
When I was younger I never really liked Jojo because I thought she was a bit cocky but now I'm way older I actually admire her. She's definitely become very successful and the fact she could hold her own so well is amazing honestly
I had a music teacher like Abby in 5th grade (not quite as bad), but she had definite, obvious favorite students and would scream at, bully, and mock the other students. I didn't at all feel comfortable enough to approach her with any questions which made it exceptionally difficult to learn how to play my instrument, especially because I didn't know anyone else who played it. I really felt that I had no one available to teach me effectively. .After that school year, I gave up the clarinet and didn't pick up another instrument until I was 18 and learned how to play the ukulele from family and neighbors. As it turns out, I am capable of learning how to play an instrument when I'm taught by a decent teacher.
"I can't believe that a 14 year old, young adult-" Ah yes, 14 year olds. Young adults. The ones with the most definitely developed brains. You know, the adults. The 14 year olds are young adults. Yes.
I hate this show, Abby is highly abusive. But at the same time, some of the moments in dance moms are actual comedy gold, there was one time where one of the moms smacked Abby and Abby called the cops saying “the lady with the cool and trendy haircut hit me”, and that was a pretty funny part.
The clip of her wheeling off to a DQ after getting pissed at someone during a recital, and then the camera crew and producing just chasing after her not knowing what to do will forever live on as some of the funniest shit I’ve seen

21:30 “I’m sorry, I’m black” that literally put me to tears, it’s so sad to see these beautiful girls ashamed because of their skin color and ethnicity :(
she really is a beautiful, skilled girl and she deserved and still deserves so much better. People don't understand that a bad childhood stays with someone their whole life and shapes who they become and their self-worth. This is no question a bad childhood. Hurt by their teacher, exploited for money and fame of not even them but Abbey because no child walked away unscathed and weren't given a choice of whether they wanted to stay or not. Most of them say it wasn't worth it and its so tragic to me that their early years were shadowed with judgement from an adult woman who was supposed to be helping them. Bullying from other kids is one thing, kids don't know better unless they're taught and they can still change and become better people. Abbey will never get better because she doesn't want to. I'm really glad she got therapy and that her and her mom are doing much better. Nobody deserves to be made fun of about something they can't control, and its even more baffling that such a sweet and lovely girl could be bullied by that old, racist, childish hag on national tv and nobody batted an eye, it was even encouraged by the producers. Absolutely sickening humans if you can even call them that. My heart bleeds for these girls.
@Blu Cherries I think this more shows you what disgusting, unempathetic people are like. Most people in the world would look at a child treated this way and be appalled like everyone here. Tv producers are absolutely heartless to anyone. Anything for views, doesn't matter what they have to do or who they have to hurt. And putting out ideas like that on television lines their pockets because people for Abbey and against her will watch solely for the drama, they don't have to agree to be drawn in. Love or hate her, she makes money by being a racist, immature bitch.
As a big dance moms fan, this show should have never been made and is terrible. But IM a BIG dance moms fan, I have watched every episode, and always wish their was more episodes to watch (luckily their isn’t tho.)
I met a dance studio owner, last year, who knows Abby personally. And he basically said what Nia did. What you see is what you get. He said she is this way in real life.
She calls them young adults when she wants to point out immature behavior, but then belittles them and calls them children when they do anything else. Basically, she identifies them however she wants to suit her narrative
As a secondary school actor with a strict instructor, I can tell you for a fact she is not a strict teacher. She is a bully. Strict teachers push you to work harder, I have broken down before in the studio, but only when I was being a little shit and irresponsible. My teacher would push me only when necessary and after she would be one of the sweetest people alive. Pushing people to do better should not have long lasting harmful effects on them, it should encourage them to grow, not fear every action or word they say.
exactly this ^^^ i’ve worked with multiple strict instructors that, despite their harsh teaching style, have always made sure i understood that they believed in me and were pushing me to be the best performer i could be. i’ve definitely broken down multiple times in rehearsals under their instruction, but it was their expectations and support that helped me to keep going. huuuge difference between that and whatever bullshit abby is pushing
My respect for JoJo just skyrocketed. I always appreciated her as fun, wholesome, positive content for my kids to watch on her youtube channel, even if she does sound like the real life version of Dora the Explorer. But this is amazing. And it further proves that JoJo doesn't give an eff what anyone thinks. She says and does what is right for JoJo.
She had some iffy moments on dance moms where she did mock other kids, and her mother straight up bullied a 12 year old to keep JoJo on the show (if the mums don't cause enough drama the kid gets kicked off), but it is good she stood up to Abby sometimes.
@@dylanhamilton1441 I didn't know any of this because I never watched dance moms. I only knew of her because I have little girls who used to watch her on youtube
@@heatherruth6734 Her own videos are good but just to watch out for that in case your kids come across the dance moms clips, they're quite upsetting to watch with JoJo's mother making a kid cry.
My kid went to a dance school. I can relate to this. The backstage mums were brutal. The day my kid said she didn't want to do ballet was the best day of my life in a long while. I hated the whole experience.
It really speaks to the horrible culture of competitive children's sports that so many people can excuse a woman screaming in a child's face until they cry as "just being strict" and a "tough teacher". Just because it's been normalized, it doesn't mean that it's okay. Fear may seem to be an effective way of motivating people in the short-term, but in the long-term, it actually leads to poorer performance due to anxiety, especially when you're doing it to CHILDREN, who will internalize that stuff for life.
Exactly!!! The sooner people realize this kind of toxicity is found in a lot of competitive children’s sports the better, it’s hidden behind gymnastics, behind soccer, behind dance, behind basketball. I think dance classes just adds as few pinches of body image issues and toxic femininity and theatricality to make it more “reality show worthy”
I always think of it like Gorden Ramsey. He's tough with kids but its in a you made a mistake that's okay I'm proud of you for trying let me show you how to do this so that you don't make the mistake again. He doesn't yell he doesn't judge or degrade he says its okay lets try again. I think that's what kids needs maybe don't coddle but be sweet
Agreed :0 and it drives children away from dance :( unacceptable behavior as a teacher. Im a choreographer now and I feel like rule number 1 is never throw your dancers under bus :( ☹
Abby reminds me of those english or math teachers you had in school that were proud that no one liked their class. "If a kid likes the class, it's probably not challenging enough" - actual quote (maybe not word for word but the exact sentiment) Now, it probably is a bit sus if most of the students are excited to go to english or math class, but you shouldn't throw any enjoyment out the window. It was usually older and drained teachers who had this attitude.
I felt so bad for Ava when she got kicked off for just being tall and continued to thank Abby after she insulted her and her mom. It is crazy how much Abby would constantly treat the girls terribly and they still would do anything for we attention and approval in the end. That is the definition of a toxic relationship.
I would go farther and cancel all the people who watches that garbage (if it was possible). That hag wouldn’t have a job if this kind of crap didn’t sell.
@@absolutelychampagne so are you planning to ignore all the trauma this woman caused these children? For God's sake, the OP specifically said that we should stop cancelling innocent people and focus on degenerates like Abby. Cancel culture as a tool of silencing and going after well-being of innocent people is disgusting. But it really triggers me when someone who made a questionable joke 10 years ago is being automatically cancelled, while people like her still have a career.
I remember when I first saw clips from this show. It was earlier this year (day before we were let out for spring break) and my friend and I were sitting and drawing in the back of the English class with a couple other people (mostly boys, although we didn’t have many in our class) when the girls got together saying they wanted to watch dance moms, specifically picking a compilation of Abby having meltdowns and yelling at the girls/their mothers. That was the most distressing 45 minutes I had ever been through. Every second of it just hurt as though it was I who was being verbally abused by that devil of a woman. Never saw anything from the show ever again.
While it’s *amazing* Jojo had that self-awareness and empathy for the other girls, it’s so sad that her innocence had to be cut down to get to that point. Imagine traumatizing a child so much that they start examining the behavior of adults and questioning the people they have no choice but having to trust.
Yeah, it's really sad that Jojo could calmly say "if you yell at me, I'm gonna cry." Wonder how many times she's had to explain that to an adult to get that calm about it.
"are u making fun of me cause im in a wheelchair and i cant stomp my feet" 1. that is an expression 2. When people start nitpicking random details rather than argumenting, you know you won.
Abby telling Nia and her mother Holly that she couldn’t wear braids made me livid. She was allowed to change the style but not the cut- which she did. Abby still had a heyday. And the amount of times she called Holly a bad/absent mother for *working* and *getting her doctorate* instead of being at the dance studio? Abby can’t handle anyone who doesn’t conform to her exact standards and beliefs. Watching the show back as an adult instead of a child is just heartbreaking. Abby’s abusive tendencies are why my mom would never watch the show with me back in the day.
The way she treated Nia and Holly was absolutely appalling! I remember in a few episodes in which she actually excluded Nia and JoJo from group dances and group activities all because Nia was performing a concert and decided to have JoJo dance with her. As someone who has seen quite a few episodes (my mom LOVES the show) it always felt, if you weren't Maddie or Mackenzie or Kendall, you were nothing
It would piss me off the she looked down on the other mother's for not working, always making comments like "I don't have a husband to pay my bills," and saying things like "People used to just drop there kids off at the studio and let me do my job." Yet she said that shit to Holly about being absentee! There is no way to make her happy. Either way, you're slacking and you're less than her in her mind. She's crazy
My friend’s mom is also friends with the mom cast of dance mom’s, and my friend told me that they heavily suggest not to go to the Abby Lee dance company. I was like “why won’t they let you go?” And now that I watch this video, I can definitely see why.
@shootkill TLC was always my guilty pleasure. Mostly looking at the dresses on Say Yes to the Dress or saying wtf to 600 Pound Life. It's trash TV, but don't touch my garbage!
Her mother was a dance teacher, and a well respected one. Abby danced when she was little and started teaching at 14 and started her own competition team (which she flaunts) so since she owned a business since 14 she can’t really relate to teenagers
I was in the competitive dance community for a bit. Abby’s studio only got famous bc of the show meanwhile dancers from other studios were way better in technique and treatment. They also faked a lot of the comps as the show went on bc of child labor laws, there’s a whole video series on that but a lot of the fights were faked too with some people I know who saw the moms irl and they would always restart the fights just for filming. The first season they weren’t paid very well either and a lot of the drama was taken out of context but still scarring to children, which is why pretty much all of the OG senior girls don’t talk to Abby anymore
Dance moms isnt the only one that repeats the drama for better camera angles, a lot of reality shows do this. Most notibly RuPaul's Drag Race where queens repeat fights that happen on their season just for good quality.
Abby: will throw a tantrum when a child calmly asks if she can have a solo. Jojo: can stay calm while being on the verge of tears as abby is screaming in her face, telling her she deserves nothing. Now remind me who the child is and who the adult is?
That’s the thing I don’t think she can dance maybe when she was a kid but on this show? No way. She just yells out a move and the kids better know exactly what she’s talking about. Her physically dancing? Nah man. Gianna was the only adult I saw actually doing the moves.
But the black mom that had a phd did nothing and she projected her fragil ego into her saying "You think you are better than anyone else cuz you have a phd, and thats not true" The woman replied : no, thats just you feeling you are less, has nothing to do with me . That was FIRE ! That woman couldnt handle that just ONE of the moms had a job, cuz that would ruin the narrative that she was better than anyone on that room... what a narcissist

Doesn't change the effect it has on the children in the slightest.
@@midnight_rain
Not everything.

Wow looking back I was so wrong. people saying “it’s okay because it’s Abby” is literally what shane dawson said when defending jeffree’s actions, “what do you expect? it’s Jeffree fucking Star” as if that’s an excuse. notice how Gordon Ramsay doesn’t treat kids that way on Master Chef Jr, because they’re just kids, in an already competitive environment....
As a kid one of my friends recommended watching this show. It horrified me
I’m glad jojo got out of this mess and found her own claim to fame. Also something notable about dance moms is that In one of the earlier episodes, you can hear a cast member whispering lines to a child. I don’t remember the kid’s name, but she was the candy apple’s mom’s kid and it was a scene in the kid’s room.
Yelling at a crying child to not cry is such a manipulative tactic for abusers to avoid guilt for their abusive actions. Makes me furious
holy shit, is it?? my mom does that a lot
*at that momment, she knew. Her mother did the same thing*
This happened to me all the time as a kid. I didn't realize the implications until I read your comment...
Abby seems like one of those moms who would make their kids cry and then say, "Keep crying. I'll give you something to cry about."
My mom says that..
Omg my dad literally just said that too my sister as I was reading this-
Bruh my mom says that.....
Yeah same. My mum says this but she's no bad parent. She yells only when times I deserve it like throw a ball at the TV screen

She is literally the only one who can still bear Abby
@@nickoffscript Jojo is a child, hence why she's childish
And she was always nice to her!
Remember the time she threw a chair at a little girl and started screaming that “she was fine” when the mother got upset. The camera was mostly focused on the adults but you could see her visibly scared and shaken the kid was.
Why did she say “I can make a kid cry in 30 seconds” in such a proud way??? Who would be proud of that??

Tell us, how is your poor, poor sister. Idk her, but im sure shes a great person who doesn't deserve such treatment
Hope your sister is doing ok now after going through all that stress.
You're making Achleygh look bad."
(I WISH I was kidding about the spelling of that name. I am dead serious, that's how it was spelled.)
My sister immediately pulled her out of dance and left a scathing review on the website calling the woman out as well as the studio for the terrible treatment.

Exactly. He only yells at the adults who claim to be “world class chefs” and they are making rookie mistakes or being lazy. They should already know better. It’s common sense to not store your poultry with fucking vegetables.
Gordon treats people who are borderline poisoning people better than she treats kids.
No one said he was bad. Thats why people are comparing him. Gordon understands kids unlike Abby. He s treats them like a father they never had,, while Abby just emotionally abuses her students. Abby went waaaaay to far
she really is a beautiful, skilled girl and she deserved and still deserves so much better.

That’s the thing I don’t think she can dance maybe when she was a kid but on this show? No way. She just yells out a move and the kids better know exactly what she’s talking about. Her physically dancing? Nah man. Gianna was the only adult I saw actually doing the moves.
I cannot describe how much I appreciate Hypixel gameplay in the background.
Epic gamer moves going on
100% agree
Minecraft is awesome
you can notice that when abby argues with the parents she literally says "I'M BETTER THAN YOU"
like thats in insult 🥱
But the black mom that had a phd did nothing and she projected her fragil ego into her saying
"You think you are better than anyone else cuz you have a phd, and thats not true"
The woman replied : no, thats just you feeling you are less, has nothing to do with me .
That was FIRE !
That woman couldnt handle that just ONE of the moms had a job, cuz that would ruin the narrative that she was better than anyone on that room... what a narcissist
@@jjba3571 guess that's also true
