Pat is a rock legend and a guitar god. First got into Pat back in '77 when I bought his second album 'Makin Magic'. From that point on I have been a massive fan.

MM is a superb LP. Pat more versatile than people realize. Yes, he does the party rocker "Snortin' Whiskey," for instance, but he also did an exquisite cover of Bob Marley's "Is this Love," from CRASH & BURN.

Pat Travers is the reason I busted my ass as kid to buy my first Les Paul. I spent my days teaching myself his tone and figuring him out. I smiled 59 years old now still rocking to Sir Travers.I never looked back.

Awesome live performance! What memories - I saw Pat Travers on this tour in 1979 in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Halloween night Oct 31 with...get this..Sammy Hagar and the Scorpions. Pat Travers was atomic tight and precise! A great way to close out the 70's decade!

The best is to listen to this entire album start to finish. Great album. One of my all time favourites. Hooked on Music... Gettin Betta ... Heat in the street.. are some other strong cuts.
I saw them live in 1978 opening for Cheap Trick, and PTB blew CT off the stage. Mars Cowling on bass was a big influence as a young bassist. Cheers.

My first time here. This track has always been as favorite. Great mix for a live performance from the 70s. my favorite live drum performance ever. Pat was a very energetic and charismatic rocker with chops to astound the ears and groove to get you moving! I had to subscribe after seeing how the music moved you in the moment and then nearly to tears when you reflected upon it, I can really relate to that!!!!

Been a huge fan for years, and seen them numerous times live. Always an fantastic show. All of Pat's bands are tight. Have to be to play his music. The structure of his songs from the 70's and early 80's are so far from a rock "formula", there are so many parts to each song. As a guitarist, learning one of Pat's classic songs is like learning two or three normal rock tunes.

I saw him in San Diego in the early 80s and he was having technical difficulties with his equipment. He took his guitar off and THREW it across the stage. He went to the microphone and "be back in a minute." Went off stage and came back about twenty minutes later and gave a monstrously kick ass show to make up for it. Top man! 🎵🎶🎵👍

Hahaa, brings me back to the days I just learned to drink beer. My dad loved music like this. We drank a beer (or two) can't remember that and in the background music like this and some Status Quo and CCR. This is the kind of music where my metal roots come from.

I have seen Pat at least 7 times.... starting in the early 80's backing up Aerosmith in Detroit...and even in a bar in my home town of Windsor Ontario Canada...also many Bluesfests here in this city....once he had a free session meet and greet guitar clinic, in about 2008...I met him, and had a picture taken with him .....In the 70's when I began listening to him...I wore out all those albums....This guy is another Canadian gem....who moved around and picked up great players, who all eventually quit on him to go on to bigger stardom...like Tommy Aldridge ( Whitesnake, Black Oak Arkansas, Ozzy Osbourne etc.)....Nicko McBrain ( Iron Maiden ) ....Pat Thrall( Glenn Hughes )....I know he resides in Florida and promotes more a blues sound than metal, anymore....but man ...he is one of the Greatest in my Book !!!.

Ruben, glad you got a chance to finally check out Pat Travers! That live album is a KILLER! Get this: what is so cool/killer about this point in Pat's career is that his band includes some of the best players in Rock! He plays co-lead guitar with none other than Pat Thrall! So that is an insane dual -guitar attack that crushes all over the live album and his studio albums, during this time. Also, his rhythm section is monster! Tommy Aldrige on drums (!! He went on to play with Ozzy Osborne after leaving PTB) and Mars Cowling on bass! Such a powerful group! Yes, check out that whole album and his studio albums with this band, "Heat In the Street" and "Crash and Burn"!

I thought this was a forgotten band. I never hear it played and never hear anyone mention them. I think the first time I heard of them was from a buddy who put on Hammerhead. That hooked me in for a while but it's not a band that stayed with me.

Please do reaction to two other songs on that "Go For What You Know" album: "Makin' Magic" & "Heat in the Street". Those two songs happen just before "It Makes No Difference" on the album and they are linked; that is, they segueway into each other, so there's no break between them. If you wanted to do a two-fer, that would be a great one! Check it out, you'll love it!
