Ability idea for Amalgrim
Soul Switch
When given certain items, Amalgrim's type changes as a new soul takes control of the body.
Top Hat - Steel type (Freddy)
Toy Guitar - Dark type (Bonnie)
Leftovers or Cupcake - Psychic type (Chica)
Charred Hook - Fire type (Foxy)
Casteliacone or Ice Cream - Ice type (Baby)
Speaker - Elecric type (Funtime Foxy)
Music Box - Fighting type (Ballora)
Bowtie - Fairy type (Funtime Freddy)
The items could also have effects for other pokemon, like Speaker boosting sound-based moves or Tophat help boost pokemon's coolness in contests if those were to ever return

Michael Afton should be a trainer in the region, maybe like a rival to the main character. He's also the gym leader William's son, so maybe he would brag about that.
It would make more sense to the lore of fnaf, especially with William potentially as the evil team leader, for Michael to be a rival to William in some way.
Like how in the games sometimes gym leaders or champions will help you fight the evil team. Or in later games, you'll have a friend/rival that helps out or has some vendetta against the evil team.
He could be a sort-of friend to the protag too

I think Vanessa being a "Rival" of some kind would be cool. Like, she's not officially your rival, but she "coincidentally" happens to be where all the drama's happening, and you battle her a lot throughout the game.
So apparently when ruin came out the file name for “The Blob” changed to “The Tangle” making it the new official name
amalgrim sig. move- big memories: randomly selects a move in its move pool, base power is always greater then or equal to 50, but has a 4 turn cooldown (15 usage and all move will hit)
support moves- 24%, stab moves- 45% oh-ko -1% regular moves-30%

Duplimic: The Human Pokémon. Despite its very solid look, this Pokémon is able to alter its shape, its height, and color to imitate other humanoid species. It’s even been known to alter its voice to be near identical to human speech.
Duplimic Special Ability- Trace.
When it enters a battle, the Pokémon copies an opposing Pokémon's Ability.
It would be cool if Amalgrim was an arceus like pokemon, and depending on like a mask or something else it is holding, it acts like a stronger version of that pokemon

I like the idea of Duplimic having a similar ability as Ogrepon, where you give it different 'suits' that can affect its appearance and ability, thus referencing its affinity for wearing suits.
Padorime: The Bounce Pokémon. Padorime love nothing more than to hide and jump out at people. To them though it’s all in good fun. Their spring like bodies and highly flexible arms help them pack themselves into small spaces.
Padorime Special Ability- Jumpscare. Any attack with the “Flinch” status effect are successful more often and are slightly more effective.
This is gonna sound convoluted, but I mean Pokemon evos have been getting insane these last few gens. And Fnaf is Fnaf. For Amalgrim, It could evolve from any of the animatronic Pokemon when they are fainted by a fire type move, revived, and you have 2 other animatronic Pokemon in your team.
I think Duplimic should be a 'mythical' pokemon or ultra beast that, when you encounter it, it's a trainer battle. Duplimic would be the trainer for the first fight, and use pokemon like Ditto, Zorua, Mimickyu, and a springrab. Then after you battle it, it charges and enters a wild pokemon battle where you can catch it. It mimics a trainer, before you beat it and then it tries to replace and mimic you
Additional suggestion on Amalgam. Make it Dark type. At best it steals discarded parts from Pokémon and at best it’s a walking corpse. If that’s not dark, I don’t know what is.
Amalgrim: The Combined Pokémon. Amalgrim’s body is made up of long, strong tendrils and… what appears to be scraps of other Pokémon. Infringed Crystals, Fazbit teeth, and Psychic Feathers are just a few things identified.
Amalgrim Special Ability- Assimilate. Any physical attack raises a state slightly, if the Opposing Pokémon has an held item it is taken instead.
Vanessa being the Cynthia of this Fnaf region would be an interesting take. She should take some Officer Jenny vibes and guide the player through the region, or maybe try and keep the player from certain areas of the region. Maybe make the region of different regions based off the pizzaplex, Fnaf world, and the other aspects of the franchise . Maybe having a landfill, or dump/ trash area for poison? Maybe making it like Montey’s golf being trashed like in ruin? I’m rambling but this is a very creative idea that I look forward to seeing!
14:43 let's be honest, we got Cassie and Gregory as our protags, Matpat the professor who thinks he's sneaky following the two around aggressively scribbling notes (GTLive Ash is either an extremely chatty and hilarious Rotom-phone, or a really stressed and relatable lab assistant chasing Mat who's following the protags-), Vanessa and Michael are either gym leaders or tag-alongs on the adventure. We've got Mr. Afton and his team Remnant (there is no actual team, it's like how Lysander was most of the team flare encounters; Afton is literally the only member of team Remnant. There are no grunts. It's just Afton fuckin around and finding out again) and then Henry just shows up after every Afton encounter to word-vomit the trauma/backstory plot, and then when the two finally get to fight Champion Markiplier, the man will then proceed to accidently knock Gregory out with an incredible pokéball throw to the dome :) /Lh /jk
Amalgrim feels like it should be a legendary or pseudo legendary, Its vibe screams it to me. And with that its signature ability could be: Scrap Guard, if the opponents Pokemon is super effective to Amalgrim's type its type will then change to make it neutral (Types would be locked for the ones of the other FNAF Pokemon)

Duplimic (The Human Pokemon): Duplimic are tricksters at heart, they hide in dark areas and lure people and pokemon alike using the mechanical voices and cries that sound like people the victims know to lure them away from safety, the only way to tell when a Duplimic is hiding in the dark is to watch out for their glowing eyes
Ability: Transform (Since it can mimic others it only made sense to me)

Amalgrim. It lurks in abandoned warehouses collecting left over scrap to add to its body. Its ghost+metal type. The ghost type comes from that it sometimes collects and 'saves' metal type pokemon souls that have passed away. Making it apart of its body. ❤❤❤

The gym could be a game of Hide and Seek and you have to avoid Vanessa and get to the other side of the room! Like some other people said, she's got alot of Mental stuff going on so Psychic could work easily
She's mostly calm during the battle but when she's down to her last pokemon, she snaps!
She slaps on the Vanny Mask and begins a wild barrage of attacks in a final gambit to beat you

I think Rotom's recent involvement in Pokédex and mobile device technology has made us forget that the lil electric-ghost type is clearly prankster-coded and therefore is a perfect reference for any silly lil guy/gal Pokémon designs ❤ also, as both a Pokémon nerd and as a digital artist myself, I think I've accidentally made a personal game out of trying to figure out which existing Pokémon you might have used as reference or as minor inspiration in the final design-

Amalgrim ability concept:
Melting pot/Amalgamation: (Protean like) The user gains the typing of any physical attack it uses. The user also has a permanant resistance to fire (if turning into a type which is weak to fire like ice would make it neutral)
For Duplimic since it is inspired by The Mimic & has duplication in its name, maybe that could play off its ability. So here's my idea:
Basic/ Default Ability: Imposter
Since it is the Mimic after all, Imposter would fit it so well since it's Mimicing other people and in this case pokemon (also, it's a fun nod to Ditto since it also kinda mimcs other pokemon as well)
For Hidden ability I got creative with this one:
Hidden ability: Duplication
This ability would allow Duplimic to copy any positive Stat changes on the opposing pokemon & take them for itself, but it would duplicate it, making it better. (Example: If the opposing pokemon used Nasty Plot it would obviously give them a +2 towards Special Attack, this ability would allow Duplimic to take that, and turn it from +2 into a +4).
Now I know that Hidden ability might seen busted, but at the end of the day, it's a fictional pokemon in a hypothetical region lol

Also,Michael needs to be the main character you play as, you play as him in every game- well except fnaf 4, so it only makes sense right?
Amalgrim: the conglomerate Pokémon. Not found in the wild, Alamgrims can only be bread from a Molteddy and another pokemon. Notably rowdy, Amalgrim will only follow orders if you have ghost-type Pokémon on your team. Amalgrim are unusually hostile to Springrab, and will always ignore trainers if a Springrab is nearby just to battle it.

Here's an idea for Amalgrim: it has an ability that copies the type of the Pokemon it defeats. So if it beats a Fire/Fighting type, it gains those types until it defeats another pokemon
I firmly believe that Vanessa should be the rival. The way she is in security breach just implants that into my brain in this context.
11:51 Amalgrim; steel poison. Its a perfect type if its made of trash and broken machinery. You see many poison types deal with waste and trash (garbador, muk ect. And you see a LOT of machine Pokemon be steel type. It’s especially perfect for a blob pokemon.
Ability wise protean could work at least if in lore it takes body parts from your other fakemon, or even a custom ability that gives it stab on any type of move (idk if u know what that means but idk how to explain it)
Awesome FNAF as pokemons, seeing all the animatronics become pokemon really inspires me to sketch them all, but one got me thinking once all the animatronics from each game are complete have you ever heard of submechanophobia fnaf? That could be fun to make water animatronics as pokemon.
I think Revinim should get forms for an Endoskeleton (which can come with many costumes that do nothing functionally, similar to Furfrou or Vivillion) as a reference to FNaF AR with the Ghost/Electric type, the SCUP device from FNaF SL and FFPS as a reference to how the device was used with the Ghost/Steel type, a humanoid trash figure with a heart-shaped pendant necklace as a reference to the alternate timeline anthologies and especially Fazbear Frights (do some reading if you must but these are surely required inclusions if you’re picking Remnant’s greatest hits) with the Ghost/Psychic typing, and finally a Freddy mask that allows you to reference the FNaF 3 endings and FNaF 2 mask mechanic with the Ghost/Poison type to reference the cut “toxicity” mechanic from FNaF 2
But I also think that Revinim should evolve if it is exposed to a special “agony-infected” item of some sort in the manner of an evolution stone into a terrifying shadowy rabbit specter named Rwquiflash (sounds like Requiem+Flash but also tying in Shadow Bonnie’s true name) with the Dark/Ghost type and darkness powers

William Afton taking the role of the antagonist in Detective Pikachu. He already has a pokemon, and he clearly wants him/his family to live forever

Also i'd imagine it'd be similar to Blood Moon Ursaluna, just a rare one of a kind species, but not specifically Legendary
Amalgrim should be the box art legendary, because he was hard to find in the FNaF game.

Amalgrim, The Combined Pokemon. A Dark and Ghost type Pokemon.
It has the ability Absolute Absorption, which changes its secondary typing to match that of the last move it used. Additionally, it takes less damage from physical attacks.
Legend says that a dark force roams beneath the ruins of the Pizzaplex, a creature born of suffering, imbued with fragments of tortured souls, scattered across the region. Vengeful in its solitude, all it craves is a peaceful rest for the sum of its parts-- and yet, it cannot find peace. Perhaps you could be the one to set it free.
I can imagine Vanessa showing up whenever Vannie leaves and acts surprised or has a weird excuse why she’s late
Amalgrim: Dragon type.
Evolved from Molteddy with a full team of pokemon with the "Piece of a whole" Ability (New ability where each of their stats are hindered by 5%). Amalgrim's new ability would be "One Big Family", which doubles it's attacking stats, and makes all it's moves spreadmoves.

For Vanessa, if she needed up being a champion or something that requires a second outfit, she could have the second outfit be the Vanny suit. Her champion name being Vanny, hiding her identity and having it as some kind of other personality, like represented in security breach. After you beat her, she takes off her mask revealing she is Vanessa and doesn’t like to be seen as a famous champion in public, that’s why she hides who she is
Amalgrim evolves from Molteddy when all a full team of fnaf pokemon faint around him not including Molteddy himself.
I'd imagine that Duplimic could be a mythical pokemon. The story in the game could be something like the player getting a call from a significant character and led to a building only to encounter the Duplimic.

I think Vanessa could serve as an Officer Jenny personality, but on a global scale. Maybe like a detective, trying to keep the Pokemon defended from harm. Her aler ego though, Vanny, could be a gym leader of Pokemon that try to hide who they really are. Just my two cents for what it's worth.
What you need to know in terms of what is and isn’t canon, at least to my knowledge, is this:
Fazbear Frights books- not canon to the games, but does have parallels to the games
Tales From the Pizzaplex books- canon to the games
Games- canon to the games… obviously
Padorime looks like a regional variant evolution of mr mime and i love her.
I think a design for the Jack o animatronics and the fnaf vr DLC animatronics for Halloween would be cool

Type: Dark Poison
Ability: Agony
Abilty description: Every second turn it hurt itself with the pain of memory of the past deaths. The Rage fuels them and gives them an attack boost.
Dark poison because of the Agony spreading and taking many animactronics
Amalgrim needs a variation of the "Stellar Tera-type" introduced in Scarlet and Violet. Basically, somewhere where it it is THE glass canon; all moves are STAB but all moves it is hit with also take STAB damage.
Amalgrim should be like ditto
Fantastic video as always, Stern. I really would recommend getting into the book series-I'm not the biggest fan of them myself, but it and FNAF World are great sources of inspiration for if you want more variety-Tiger Rock, the shark animatronic, etc.
The prevalence of Ghost types (and also Fairy types) makes me think that Professor MatPat would focus his studies around the myths and LOOOOOOOOOORE of Pokémon, testing to see if the rumors people make about all these Pokémon actually hold water (kind of like a Pokémon MythBusters, now that I think about it)
I'm also curious about what the starters would be. With the main 4 animatronics already taken, I'm wondering who'd work for the Fire/Water/Grass trio. There aren't really a lot of other "trio"-type characters in the series besides Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica (Foxy's always the odd one out). The only thing I could think of would be to specifically make them DISconnected from each other-by which I mean, to have each of them represent a different "era" of the franchise. Golden Freddy/Fredbear with an old cartoon aesthetic (maybe the Water type could represent the ink), an animatronic from the original 3 games for a Grass-type (maybe going with an "overgrown" theme, plus they're already weak to fire, so it fits), and one of the Funtime or Glamrock animatronics for Fire-type (probably Roxy-I think the only unique Funtime animatronic is Ballora, which...isn't really starter material, and Montgomery feels too much like a Water or Dragon type, and we already have two Crocodile/Alligator starters in Totodile and Fuecoco). But, you know, maybe they don't have a normal Fire/Water/Grass trio, or maybe they get them in later evolutions! It is your region, after all!
still think fairy gym leader henry and a mimmet evo is a good idea, though
Amalgrim: The Combined Pokemon Type: Normal? Sig. Ability "Come together": If you have another Cawthonian pokemon in your party, Amalgrim will gain that pokemon's type. If you have 2, it will become a dual type, more than that and the signature ability will fail. If the pokemon has a dual typing, it will only copy 1 type from that pokemon. If the two mons have the same typing, it will only copy one of them.
Wow! I really really love these designs! Padorime is so cool, I love the spring body, and the face, it’s honestly so cool. Amalgam is amazing, I love seeing like gargantuan Pokémon, cause honestly if I saw that thing, I would be booking it out of there! I love Vanessa’s design, it fits the feel of the trainers, and honestly, I feel like she would be a rival that you wouldn’t know until the end, and would think she’s a ally, I think that could be surprising! I love Duplimic, I love the sleek design it has, and the more human design it has! I think it should be a trainer battle as I saw someone say, but then Duplimic would mimic you, and get your pokemon team, the only way to win the battle is to faint Duplimic, which then allows you to obtain it! The ability it has is Mimic, it transforms into a random Pokémon on the other team and gains all of the typing and battle skills, as well as the stats! That way, it can be sort of balanced, it can transform into a weak pokemon, or a strong pokemon, it would be random chance for all however. If I could give a suggestion, maybe Nightmare from FNAF 4? I think you could make that design fit Pokemon really well, and I would be curious on how you do that!

- Maybe Vanessa is a pokemon ranger, in charge of Amalgrim's defense? I wonder who assigned her to this secret task... certainly not a gym leader. : )
- Hearing you mention Duplimic as a UB looking design, what if this region is actually a region in ultra-space? Maybe they don't have gym leaders at all! Maybe the protagonist is an Ultra-Wormhole explorer type? This im not so sure of, since it'd be a very different pokemon narrative (and it seems like most folks watching really want a traditional gym challenge type of story) but I think freeing yourself from that format with Ultra-space could open up a lot of cool design opportunities
For Duplimic, while it is a bit mean to a group of Pokémon, it’d be interesting if it got both illusion ability and sketch move, named differently but still the same in function

Vanessa could be like Lusamine in a way! Where she starts off kind of like officer Jenny (maybe even tag along at times) but ends up getting possessed (unwillingly) by one of the regions's pokemon (who looks like vanny) and you have to fight her to save her, the possession has to do with Afton, perhaps he is controlling the vanny pokemon to control Vanessa because she is part of the law and a possible threat? Idk just throwing ideas

Duplimic is the most original of the designs and I do like it's design with the lines of the limbs and enlarged limb ends. It's the originality is whatI like the most, it's very divorced from the original inspiration and it's something that you could take outside of this fan project and flat out still work.

That is a amazing design it's so wacky that it should be a ultra beast UB-Amalgamation Amalblob(Amalgamation and blob) or Jublobiant(Junk, blob, and giant) would work but Amalgrim is cool to. And a lot of types would work to Fairy, Dark, Steel, Fire(because all the parts are probably melted together), and the one you picked Normal.
I'm really liking the series, hope to see more of it like ballora or the twisted ones (also his 3d models look so cool)

you should make Vanny as a character, and her costume could mimic the bonnie pokemon... The lore could be that William Afton uses the Ennard pokemon to mind control Vanessa, or maybe the Mimic

Vanessa doesn't have to be a Gym leader, or Elite 4 member or whatever. She could quite easily fit the role of your Rival
As a big fan of both pokemon and fnaf i used to look for video's of pokemon based on fnaf so when i saw this series i was overjoyed. I absolutely love these designs.
Sparky the dog was the first Fnaf hoax and would be a cool Pokémon.
Maybe the mimic pokemon uses the jack in a box theme by hiding in empty costumes and containers, intentionally looking like shes not in there, and then jumping out like a jack
I’m hoping we can get something inspired by Michael Afton, be it a Pokemon or trainer. Perhaps as a Pokemon, he could be a Steel/Normal type due to his status as a mechanic/technician, then be able to turn into Ghost type through special means like with Primeape and Annihilape.

Just like in Scarlet in violet, defeating pokemon drops items to craft tms, it would work for amalgrim.
Giving him two item would give him up two additional type, chicas teeth would give him electric, making it normal electric.
However, if you give chicas teeth and foxy fur, it makes it electric and fire

Make Roxy into a regional form of Zoroark. Also, normal type fits for Amalgrim because it could have Protean as its ability, which changes it's type based on whatever moves it uses, meaning it always has stab. Vanessa could be like N, a rival who uses a legendary before you have one. This would be implying that Amalgrim is a legendary.
I feel like a more creative route with Amalgrim would be instead of being made with melted metal scrap, it would be a giant pile of tangled yarn with a bunch of dolls ensnared inside.

Amalgrim is a pokemon made of yarn, discarded rope and lost dolls from various children from unhappy households. It's unknown why it's drawn to these dolls or why dolls that came from sad children specifically but nonetheless it goes out of its way to collect them and sometimes give them to children that it believes deserves them the most.

Amalgrim should totally be a legendary! Although I'm not sure what the other version's legendary would be... my first thought would be something like burnt-trap or glitch-trap, but those feel like evolutions of springrab.
necrozma and the cosmog line are technically UBs, but the UB specific pokeballs aren't effective on them because they've been out and about for a long time
and the 3d modeled fakemon are adorable, but wow am i remembering how quickly the color washes out
Amalgrim's ability could be a fusion of multitype and protean/libero
You give it a specific held item to change secondary type and and move it uses that aren't the secondary type will change the primary type of it, if it uses a move of its secondary type the move fails
Vanny hunts with the help of the glamrock animatronics, those three seem like a safe crew for her pokemon. Maybe they're electric?

So you did! Cheeka looks great, and dark moon would be a good addition to the bunch if she takes on a mixed typing rival role. So a Monty and a Roxy would bring the crew up to four, then maybe a STAFF bot to get to five, and thats a good crew.

I like the idea of Vanessa having an ace Pokemon that looks like her Vanny persona; a small very Starter-looking bunny, a Psychic-type (cuz I like the idea of her being a Psychic expert). Hell, it could be what's influencing her to do her evil bunny thing, a la Malamar
Also Amalgrim as Normal feels pretty good. Normal has only one weakness, which works as you can't hurt The Blob, and is often used for Pokemon that are supposed to have attributes of multiple types and having wide move pools (Arceus, Silvally), and the rule of thumb I like to follow, if it's so bizarre you can't nail it down, make it Normal-type, cuz ironically Normal can be anything
