The end of the epic Rupununi adventure was bittersweet in the sense that you guys had so much bonding with nature which does not occur on a daily basis. I didn't know that piranha was edible, I've never heard anybody talk about eating it before; but then again it seems as though most things nowadays are; because some years back when I was younger I was at a function where in addition to other meats, alligator was served and I tasted a piece out of curiosity. So as you said, eat them before they eat you.
