Big up Danny. You ask the right questions and share the same concerns like m etc the. I BACK YOU A THOUSAND PERCENTAGE. Give the job of teaching, showing, encouraging, implementing , motivation etc. the sense and consciousness of MAINTENANCE. It will save the economy big time and those savings can go into all Guyanese pockets.

What is unfortunate though is the dilapidated condition of the wharf that has been in existence like this for decades. Safety and cleanliness is none existent just look at the filth, garbage and plastic strewn all over the area including the river bank. Every one involved in conducting business on this wharf and many others around the country needs educating and teaching about garbage disposal. This can only be achieved by the government and the people working hand in hand. After the government initial investment in rectifying the situation the vendors and fishermen needs to maintain it by being charged fees and taxes otherwise it is just an exercise in futility.

FYI. Once you live in Guyana you pays taxes on most of the items in supermarkets and stores. So everyone pays taxes You need to educate yourself before being conclusive.
@@rram9694 let me educate you a little more. currently in Guyana every worker is allowed $100,000 GYD or $500 USD tax free beyond that you pay 30%. Most of the fishermen don’t earn 100k per month due to the low prices paid by the buyers and also the decline in their catch.
Building, building infractures all the time is ok but not important more than maintenance. All of Guyana doesn't understand that maintenance is more important than building, building...............I hold the Gov't of Guyana on that including the President, Vice President, the Opposition. I can teach/ enlighten all these thing for free for Guyanese. Gosh stop and think what you have and cherish it, upgrade it before go build something that you don't have a vibrant policy of everyday maintenance. Building roads to take life or repair and enhance wharfs for fishermen who risk their lives to put food on the table for all Guyanese. I wonder if you caught catfish on the digging of trenches building roads and shun the real bread winners of Guyana. Building artificial Island might be good in the future. What are you doing for the people of the present who still have delopatated in very poor deplorable state? You kept building roads and more people got killed. What's your agenda President Ali?

That's in the new budget 24 what happen in the past. The decline of fish in the Atlantic is caused by over fishing, same as fresh water.
