Minelab sure did a great job on this machine. I’m waiting to see if the D2 is going to be getting some updates before I go the Manticore route. Thank you for the video.
if you dont know what aD2 CAN do by now, without an update, you dont really want one. its an incredible machine in any situation.

Very nice detector. Looks like it is going to hit really deep targets on the beach. Got to have a good beach detector to swing over the salty wet sand along with black sand. Thanks For sharing .. Merry Christmas

Thanks for the Beach ⛱️ hunt. Do you recall which beach setting you used, and did you have to do any adjustments. I'm waiting for mine to come in, and I do alot of beach hunts , mainly water. Hope to keep learning the best way to run the machine. Thanks Again!

Hi - i would like to know how the unit performs under water ? The Equinox 800 that i used before control box got water logged. I hope they do not have the same issue. Happy Hunting from down under.
I wish I could tell you but right now no one has shown this. Where I am at it is cold but a friend of mine does some diving so he may take it in the next time out. I think a lot of people are gun shy to b/c of the Equinox issues and many are afraid b/c if it dies it may be a while before they would get it back. Some of the testers said they stuck them in bathtubs and left them overnight and no leaking occurred. The unit I had in the video was not mine but a friend’s who let me use it for a few hours. Sorry I wish I could tell you more but hopefully someone will be willing to take the plunge soon 👍 Thanks for watching and happy new year ! 🎉
Did real good yesterday found a real nice 14 karat white gold ring with some ice finally got some of that sand stripped out the beach from that storm

deciding between deus 2 or manticore i have never had a metal detector . i just want to buy 1 and i dont beach hunt. will be hunting up in the mountains deserts . looking for cache of gold coins which do you recommend for my needs? thank you
Thats a tough call both machines are excellent. Its really a personal preference I don't think you lose with either. For me its the warranty and weight of the machine. I also hunt in sites that are loaded with iron and I believe the D2 just does better in that situation than the Manticore.I like the User Interface of the Manticore, it has great depth , good on the beach , 3 yrs warranty, and the screen is a nice feature. The D2 is light, has good depth, excellent in iron will go over 60 ft in the water ,great on the beach and a 5 yr warranty. There is a lot to consider. Think about from what I just told you which fits your scenarios in your area the best. Hope that helps. SRA

Big question.....DOES IT LEAK?
That is a big question and I have yet to see anyone take in water yet? It’s winter so we may have to wait to spring not unless someone in Fla does it. They say it’s been improved and testers are saying it is good and been put in water in bathtubs and left with no problems. I actually borrowed this unit just to see how I liked it. But hopefully I will know more soon. Thanks for the great question ! 👍😊

History teach my name is Lanny, I’m not going to beat a dead horse to death, between you and John and nasa Tom, I’m in Pennsylvania I understand most states have trash and iron , but xp deus regardless of price i can get military discount on manitore save 250.00, is the deus 2 that much better than manticore in all you guys test thankyou sir
To follow up the screen and moving through the screen options is better without question, like I said cosmetics don’t mean better performance but I trust you to give me the real deal, thanks sir
Lanny I think their both good machines but for me it’s the D2 right now. The D2 fits my type of hunting and I love the lightweight design and set up. Ultimately you have to decide which will work best for you. I see both machines getting better but not sure how and when this Manticore will receive an update to fix some of its issues. Jon and I tell people they have to decide what’s best for them and decide what they are looking for in a detector. All we can do is show what we are seeing from these machines. I prefer the D2 doesn’t mean that the manticore is bad it just means I like the D2 for what I do. I know that is probably not the answer you wanted but it’s my feelings at the moment until updates happen. Take care and thanks for all the support.👍

@@southernrelicadventures yeah I’m 58 years old, the weight isn’t a problem I mean if I go out 4 hours or more heck I have to take a sit down anyhow, the wireless technology is a convenience not a performance advantage, manitore screen is light and day to adjust yes just a cosemetic not a performance advantage, heck my friend if one machine is that much better, not the comfort aspect then it’s worth it, my question, however if I can save 250.00 with my military discount and loose basically nothing I can use that 250.00 towards pinpointer, your of great help, but if you , John, masa Tom can say without doubt the deus 2 is better than that’s all I want to no, both will get updates, your explanation in short other than your more comfortable with deus 2, you do a great job.
