- I spent an entire week beach metal detecting and I put some really good time on the sand with the Minelab Manticore. But how does the "Beast" handle itself on the beach in the wet salty sands of Hilton Head Island? I think you might be pleasantly surprised. In this video, I'll show live digs, total finds, and the settings I used and LOVED for this metal detector. Huge shoutout to @SavannahHarps as I watch many of his videos using the Manticore. I have a similar set up, but instead of a two tone edit to get the single tone for good targets, I use the depth audio theme. It REALLY jumps out and I friggin love it. Great video. Cheers!

Scott, I am green with envy! I go out to the beach about five days a week, and lately I come home with the same thing I go out with, nothing! Then I turn on your video, and you’re pulling Jewelry out one after the other! I’ll set up your program on my Mantícore and see what I can find.
Don't be fooled my friend, I would sometimes walk 30 mins before hearing a target.

I’ve been looking for a good beach video on the manticore! So glad it popped up for this 30 minute drive I have I’ve started beach hunting more lately. I never have been a beach hunter since I live in North Texas and I’ve never had a beach machine, so I’m looking for all the advice I can get. I’m really confused though on freshwaterbeaches if I need to be in a beach program or not because the water is not salt I’m perplexed and can’t find a straight answer
I use the Manticore on Fresh water beaches the same way I do for the salt water beaches. I use this same setup. Its simple but it hits hard on everything to include those lower gold numbers in the 5-10 range.

Are you enjoying the Manticore yes or no as which ever you tubers video I watch about the Manticore you all seem down yet when the D2 hit us it was smiles and excitement around the world lol it feels from all the vids it just aint working out.
I think if you went through my other Manticore videos you will find that I enjoy this much just as much the D2 and in some cases like the beach, I'm all in on the Manticore. Its a great machine, you just have to take the time and learn it.
Hello great videos can you tell me what you have attached to the inside of your scoop with the yellow cable ties ?
Thanks, I had an extra insert made that would keep things like ear rings from falling through the scoop.
Great video as always. Can I ask , are you using the factory settings , or your own setup?
I walk through my settings at the end of the video. I did make some adjustments and didn't just use the stock settings.
Scott, interesting video concerning the manticore at the beach. Could you do me a favor, though, could you provide us with a list of the settings you used, for the manticore on the beach? I tried putting the settings in mine from your video, and I got messed up.

Manticore that's really nice in the water but if you get in the Deep surf Chatters a lot. I used the Beach surf setting in Wastewater deep less chatter still goes pretty deep Manticore can get the job done but the D2 is a rocket ship compared to the Manticore although people complain about the antenna wire and charging capabilities if you take your time that's not a problem I had my antenna wire running in side the shaft I just think the Manticore is in slow motion compared to the D2 and I hit some gold chains better with the D2 overall user experience pays off and knowing how to hunt to Beach's is the key to all
Thanks for your thoughts, I too find myself picking up the D2 but the Mantcore is right there IMO and growing on me but it will be hard to put it above the D2 right now so I tend to agree w/you.
Can I ask, why did you go out at this hour of the morning versus another hour of the day, say sunrise?
Tide schedules. I try and get out 1-2 hours before low tide.

Hard choice for me right now, I would probably favor the D2 just because I know how to use the machine a little better. The Manticore is right there though. You can't go wrong either way.

Thanks, my gear is pretty simple. I have one of the Xtreme scoops, pinpointer and thats it really.
