Excellent video! Explained in a clear voice with excellent diction, and excellent, clear instruction! I couldn't find this on any other UA-cam video about it. THANK YOU.

I am getting things ready, for my mom to come home from rehab. She had a stroke( S.A.H.) on 2-21-2019..She has weakness in her left side, and her leg will not lift over the tub. I ordered a transfer bench, for Amazon today, for $60.00..And needed to know how to keep the water off the floor. Thank you for your helpful information. You are so kind,to help those, who know nothing about this. God bless you,and I will be living here with mom. (Since 3-22-2014) And she had a aortic valve replacement, In May 2016. God bless you and yours. Liz and Betty(MOM) in Martinsville Indiana

Great video, I am a below knee amputee and use a shower bench daily. The one I use is the commode style with the seat opening ( I don't install the bucket). I find it very easy to wash myself with this type of bench.

Well, our shower is shared by non-recovering adults so I cannot cut the shower as you describe. The other choice you might mention is to use a nozzle with a hose that you can bring down to your level and do your best to keep water in the tub by wrapping curtain around the chair as best as possible. thank you for your post.

I know I am late but you could buy the double hung shower clips so you can place two shower liners on it and cut the inner one so it is used for the person whom need the shower chair and the second can be used by those whom don’t use the shower chair. So you would remove any curtain just push both inside when need. I also added a tension pole so I can then hang my decorative curtain up. Hope this helps you or anyone else whom shares a bathroom.

Seems like the easiest solution would be to make that part of the seat without holes when it's manufactured.

Totally understand your thought here but the bench is reversible so I can be flipped dependent on which way your shower head is oriented. The backrest pops out to change the direction the user sits. This means the holes need to be on all edges of the bench ☺️

Can you please demo the same thing for a vertical shower with a low bottom? Not bathtub. Wheelchair can’t go upstairs fur the bathroom. The first floor only has a shower but the transfer seat is not fitting because of the shower curtain and water. You did the demo only in the bathtub. What s about the shower? Please let me know. Thanks for

Hi, can you provide me with more detail. Can the individual stand pivot or required total assistance?

How is the person inside the shower going to tuck it in? It's easey if someone on the outside tucks it in, however if there isn't anyone around to assist then it might be difficult to tuck in from the ins

No, not necessarily. The person inside simply pulls the inside curtain and tucks into the same area. Give it a try with your patient.
