    @13:32 Crazy how fast they switch from calm to guarding instinct. They’re always ready to protect

    • @weedhigh2564
      @weedhigh2564 4 місяці тому

      The actual crazy part about that is not how fast they turn protecc mode but how quick they are able to turn it off and be a chill dog again. Now I dont have corsos, well, one is part corso but i got rottie labs (im absolutely in love with this mix and im a big proponent of making it an actual breed because there is nothing a rottie lab cant do) and that aspect still astounds me after 10 years, the older one (the part corso one) can go from cuddling to protecc mode and back to cuddling in a snap of a finger and to me thats super impressive. Another really impressive thing to me Is how perceptive they are ( im convinced my dogs understand me speaking beyond just commands, like they know very well when I say lets go out to them and when I say that to someone else with them just present, or like, if I say im hungry they dont even flinch, but if I ask are you hungry even if they know im not talking to them but still they get up and make a ruckus. Or the fact that they know my friends by nicknames and will tell you if you ask them for example :do you like Alex? And they make a woof sound for no or they do a mouse squeal for yes or they do the rottie growl for hell yes. Like they love a friend of mine and if I say he is coming over they would wait for him at the fence gate like they wait for me. I can also put something in their mouth (thats the main job of the younger one I have, transporting things) and say take it to (name) even if there is a shitload of people she will take the thing to.the right person (if they know them by name) or I can say "bring (name) here" and they go get the person or item and bring it. They differentiate among tools (like they know what a screwdriver Is,a Hammer and so on, things they can easily carry) and know how to perform multi level tasks, like I can be in the attic and say to the dogs "bring me a Hammer from the basement" they go, open Doors, do the trip, close Doors behind them and bring the Hammer. If I tell them both to do it they go for.efficiency and one carries the Hammer while the other opens and closes Doors for her and can work in tandem to bring long things that one cant easily carry alone they learned by themselves to help eachother out.

    I have a 4 month old Formentino cane corso female.
    Pro: calm, loyal, easy to train, super loving, follows us everywhere, just the best breed
    Cons: mine is very nervous around people(even with extreme socialization)reactive to dogs on leash but great off leash, eye problems already, cost of food
    Mine was a rescue and was abused and starved prior to me getting her at 2 months old. But she’s just the best ❤

    • @weedhigh2564
      @weedhigh2564 4 місяці тому

      i hope that the prior abuse will not give you any trouble down the line, when they are that young they are extremely impressionable and they might carry the trauma into adulthood, be wary of the signs and consult a trainer if you ever feel like you have no good solutions or dont know what to do. She is still young enough you can easily train the bad habits and fears out of her with enough dilligence but again, if you are not certain how to do it and so on, do contact a professional trainer in your area for help and if possible dont go for a positive only trainer, they are not the right type of trainer for your dog.

    Have a beagle who is very headstrong and opinionated. She was a covid-puppy, so it was just me and her for almost two years. She loves "her" people, and will howl if I leave the house without her (usually to a doctors appointment). She will sit in the window and fret till I'm back. She kept me sane in the months after my husband passed. She knows I'm sick and if I'm going to faint before I do. As much as she's my emotional support dog, I'm her emotional support human. ❤

    We have 3 dogs! A rescue from TX. We live in MN. Our rescue is a mix and weights 65 lbs. We have two Westies. Pro: We love our dogs. They add so much to family life. Con: They are very sensitive. I was unemployed for 4 months then went back to work. This was a tough transition. Also, I bought a small rural home that I plan to move to when I retire. My dogs have been to this home many times, but when I run an errand while there they are scared. Dogs really need routine and consistency. It can be a challenge when in a busy time for whatever reason.

    Hello, beautiful family! For sure, it is so important to talk about the pros & cons about this blessed breed! Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉 My 2 babies cani corsos (5 months) have a strong "personality" and a heavy body kkk. I fell down when i was walking with Isis (using a leash). In a second, my body was down on the ground! kkkk 😂😂😂 It is easy to happen! That is why is so important to teach them well! Who loves...educates! I really love them! Our best regards to you! 🎉🎉🎉

    Previously owned a black Chow Chow. They are very independent and can get very aggressive with strangers. She was a rescue and was very protective of the family. One main con is they shed a lot and need to be constantly combed with a rake. Not a good dog that likes to be fussed over and it’s very true they behave more like a cat at times then a dog.

    so, i own 2 rottie lab mixes, one is part corso as well. Pros: all-round dogs (you can train them to do whatever you want at a high level from agility to protection to hunting), no health issues (i dont know is it just my luck or its typical for other litters to be this super healthy, the part corso one had pyometra at 6 yo and has a lipoma now but other than that, no issues), super easy to train, the looks are a big pro too (not only they already look intimidating but they also look veeeery good if you ask me, among dogs are one of the best looking). Cons: not many to be honest... like you mention, they have no personal space, so it might be an issue sometimes with others, slobber is another con, other than these 2 tho, im having a hard time thinking of another one to be honest

    Would you ever consider a Neopolitan Mastiff?

    • @zanderdev57
      @zanderdev57 8 місяців тому

      Im sure your neo is a good dog but when you have a cane corso, why get a neopolitan mastiff instead of another cane corso? They are great protectors but a cane corso is usually more athletic and has less health issues than a neo. Also a neo is just a lot of dog, they can weigh in at 150 which has to be difficult to deal with.
      Idk i have always been a more outdoorsy kind of person so having more athletic dogs has been a priority

    I had great danes prior to my Corso, if my dane with to home depot with me we had to talk to everyone. not so much with my corso. the only people that talk to me is the ones they know what actual breed she is. everyone else thinks shes a PIt bull on steroids.
    she loves ladys of a lady talks to her she will go to her. only certain men will she go to.
