+aweinster2 Agreed. I probably would have included in my personal top 10 at least 5-6 Goodfellas scenes, including the Billy Batts killing (and what led up to it), and the montage of the whacked, which was set to the closing instrumental section of "Layla." So much to choose from...
yes he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...tho, it's a damn shame the movie industry doesn't wanna recognize it...how the hell did he get his 1st oscar 40+ yrs after he made his 1st movie...really, most up-n-coming directors look at scorsese as their reference...he's at the top of his game...there's plenty of very talented director's...i wont take that away from them...however, scorsese is alot like hitchcock...they aren't scared to push limits & take chances...and by doing so...they've made some of the most iconic movies in cinematic history...
"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. To me, being a gangster was better than being President of the United States" Taxi Driver's mirror monologue is wonderous.... but that opening turned a million kids into full blown movie buffs!
The Aviator deserves way more praise than it gets. Leonardo DiCaprio gives his best performance, Scorsese masterfully directs, and the plot around Howard Hughes is captivating. It's a shame it's not as popular as many other Scorsese films
1. Taxi Driver end shootout 2. Goodfellas Billy Batts death 3. Raging Bull "You fuck my wife?" 4. Gangs of NY scene where The Butcher tortures Leo 5. Wolf of Wall Street qualudes kick in 6. Mean Streets brawl 7. Shutter Island twist revealed 8. Casino death of Pesci character and his brother 9. After Hours end sequence 10. King of Comedy where Rupert is in visioning himself as a talk show host and his mom interupts

Raging Bull : Watched just recently for the first time. It's just a diamond of a film, every bit as good as Goodfellas, Departed, Mean Streets and Taxi Driver. The opening Cavalleria rusticana scene is just pure poetry and you never forget it..
The Copa shot from Goodfellas is probably one of the best movie scenes ever. Its instantly brings you into the universe of which the plot took place in.
Awesome scenes that are not on this list - 1. Casino desert scene 2. The Age of Innocence end scene 3. Al Pacino says you're late (The Irishman) 4. Andrew Garfield steps on jesus (Silence) 5. Michael faces off Johnny Boy (Mean Streets)
I see "Good Fellas Originally in the Cinema back then when it came out , and NOBODY warns me !! I Knew NOTHING about this Film .. STRIKE ..! That was one of my Best Cinema Moments ...
awesome420ication it's an amazing film and I'm 14 ffs, all the random things/non needed things actually link to the wife drowning the kids, and especially the last scene where we get a hint that the protagonist insnt actually mad but aware that he'll get a lobotomy

All good. This list could be a top 10 goodfellas scenes if it wanted to. the vice scene from casino, ben's freakout and the opening to alice doesn't live here anymore, and the ending to the last temptation of christ are also excellent

Too many favorites to pick just one, but I just love the scene in Goodfellas where Karen Hill goes to Janice Rossi's apartment and gives her hell, taking along her real life daughter (Stella Keitel, age 5).
Scene in Raging Bull when Deniro punches the wall, scene in Last temptation of christ when jesus speaks about him being son of god, Goodfellas Layla-scene, Taxi driver talking to me scene
+Akaaraq Hansen 10. Dr Strangelove- bombing scene 9. something from Lolita 8. Paths of Glory- the Charge 7. Eyes Wide Shut- Cult scene 6. A Clockwork Orange- Singing in the rain 5. Full Metal Jacket- drill instructor introduction 4. 2001: A Space Odyssey- wormhole/star child 3. Dr. Strangelove- war room scene 2. The Shining- Chase scene 1. 2001: A Space Odyssey- chimpanzees
The Copa scene is #1. First time I watched a film and actually thought about the direction, cameras and all. Problem with Taxi Driver, Self Reflection, is it was mostly the improvisation of De Niro
The narrator described the 'You Talkin' To Me' soliloquy as one of the best improvised scenes of film history. Another one? Martin Sheen's mirror-punching scene at the beginning of Apocalypse Now.
Shouldve included the end shootout for Taxi Driver.. that was such a controversial bloody scene for it's time and was the climax for one of the greatest movies of all time.. the whole movie was leading up to that..
Martin Scorsese Movie Scenes are full of Essences. Deeper into Human Condition in all Point. The evidence that only in Simplicity of a Scene, Greatness finds his Sense. Masterpieces.
No one: WatchMojo: pays annoying narrators even though everyone prefers no narrators, ruins all the videos, annoys the hell out of people, and ignores all good suggestions.
Marty had 2 scenes in Taxi driver once in the taxi but also when the lady he likes(cant remember her name) is first introduced and it shows her walking with the white dress you can see Marty in the background checking her out.
You should do top 10 goodfellas scenes because there's so many classic scenes
yes please!
+aweinster2 Agreed. I probably would have included in my personal top 10 at least 5-6 Goodfellas scenes, including the Billy Batts killing (and what led up to it), and the montage of the whacked, which was set to the closing instrumental section of "Layla." So much to choose from...
Why has this not been done yet 😡
69th liek
So does Casino
Goodfellas could have had ten spots on this list
Taxi Driver could have had all of them.
Now go get your shinebox
A trick: you can watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Kenneth Jesiah yup, been watching on flixzone for since december myself :)
@@firstlast923 Now go get your fuckin shinebox.
ahhh the opening to Raging Bull. Cinema at its best.
Martin is a freaking directing legend!
A freaking directing God.

How the hell is Billy Bates' murder scene not even an honorable mention?
I agree!!
Okay thanks for that now go home and get your fuckin shine box
Too violent.
NOBODY WISYHES FOR THE SHINEBOX
Billy batts
"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. To me, being a gangster was better than being President of the United States" Taxi Driver's mirror monologue is wonderous.... but that opening turned a million kids into full blown movie buffs!
Scorsese and Tarantino are the best directors ever. Followed by Nolan, Hitchcock, Kubrick and Fincher.
+Davy no
DrunkenM33rkat what no? that's my opinion
*cough* Spielberg
Tarkovsky,Fellini,Kurosawa,Cassavetes,Chaplin,Bresson....
+TheFashionbugs just because they are modern directors doesnt mean they make films for 12 year olds its not like were talking about Michael bay here
pretty much every scorsese movie is staring either De Niro or DiCaprio lol
Joe Pesci was in quite a few too
Harvey keitel aswell
I guess he likes actors with the DUH sound in their name
I'm 5 years late here but now they both going to be in a Scorsese movie together.
@@jeremygrootenzerink5395 he’s in pretty much all his early work.
I feel like shutter island is underrated
I agree with you fine sir.
Not at all
+Nazwabezcyfer very
+Nazwabezcyfer I think it's overrated. #opinions
Nazwabezcyfr Shutter Island is fine in my opinion. Not great just fine.
I can't believe the "shinebox" scene was not here
Too violent and too much swearing?
Nah they showed Robert De Niro saying c*nt
The Wolf of Wall Street was very fun to watch! Especially with Leo's performance!
The scene from Departed when Leo ordered the juice should have been at least hm.
+Gani Ibraimi You got your period?
It's a natural dieretic
Gert B. Frobe idk if you get complimented on your name but great Joe Dirt (that's Dirtè) reference
When "Funny how?" is number 5 on your list you've made a lot of good movies.
The Aviator deserves way more praise than it gets. Leonardo DiCaprio gives his best performance, Scorsese masterfully directs, and the plot around Howard Hughes is captivating. It's a shame it's not as popular as many other Scorsese films
I definitely agree with you. I love that movie so much and it was made brilliantly.
The Future.
+DreDaDon__ The way of the future.
+Liam Garrison Funny thing is, although Leonardo is very good, he still feels miscast for that role.
Giorgi Gudiashvili his performance in the film is phenomenal, he just doesn't look a lot like Howard Hughes
The Self Reflection scene in Taxi Driver is my favourite scene from any movie, it's just so relatable
The "Layla" scene from Goodfellas should've been on here, I would even accept it as an honorable mention.
1. Taxi Driver end shootout
2. Goodfellas Billy Batts death
3. Raging Bull "You fuck my wife?"
4. Gangs of NY scene where The Butcher tortures Leo
5. Wolf of Wall Street qualudes kick in
6. Mean Streets brawl
7. Shutter Island twist revealed
8. Casino death of Pesci character and his brother
9. After Hours end sequence
10. King of Comedy where Rupert is in visioning himself as a talk show host and his mom interupts
+DreDaDon__ Omg the Qualudes scene was golden. I forgot about that one
I love the opening scene of The Departed.... Where Jack Nicholson is like a genius

-11:33 the king of comedy
-11:38 casino
-11:46 shutter island
-11:57 casino
1. 12:05 taxi driver
Jimmy Ten Times: Gonna get the papers, get the papers, get the papers, get the papers...

You could fill an hour & 1/2 with Scorsese honorable mention scenes. He's been at it for 45 years and there's genius work in every movie.
Raging Bull : Watched just recently for the first time. It's just a diamond of a film, every bit as good as Goodfellas, Departed, Mean Streets and Taxi Driver. The opening Cavalleria rusticana scene is just pure poetry and you never forget it..

prison scene from goodfellas. the music, the attire and the food, all so perfect.
The rendez-vous in the désert from casino should be in honorable mentions.

Taxi Driver was my favorite movie as a teenager, still watch it once or twice a year

The most amazing part of the I amuse you scene happens after the well known part. It doesn’t stop where you’re used to having it stop.
Damn these are all great scenes. The Amuse you Goodfellas scene should be higher!!!
The raging bull jail scene punching the wall...

All good. This list could be a top 10 goodfellas scenes if it wanted to. the vice scene from casino, ben's freakout and the opening to alice doesn't live here anymore, and the ending to the last temptation of christ are also excellent
I think the best scene of The Departed is the conversation in the bar between DiCaprio and Nicholson, an acting masterpiece
Fotis Kaiser I’m sure by now you know, I’ve got an informer in my outfit.
I'm glad they included the seduction scene from Cape Fear, one of the best acted scene in movie history.
The I’m not leaving scene in The Wolf of Wall Street is still my favorite

Scorsese is such a master. Its hard to make a Top 10. Every scene is top notch....
Mean Streets is one of my favorite movies of all time and so is Raging Bull but Scorscese and Leo make magic Every time man
The narrator described the 'You Talkin' To Me' soliloquy as one of the best improvised scenes of film history. Another one? Martin Sheen's mirror-punching scene at the beginning of Apocalypse Now.
"you never got me down Ray" from raging bull is surely in the top 3
"Funny guy" is the best M. Scorses scene !!!!
The slow motion tracking shot after the shootout at the end of Taxi Driver. Even the cherry tops on the cop cars were going around slowlyl
One of the good scene, in Casino, "Stabbing with a pen". Kind of genius too.
DO THIS WITH JAMES CAMERON AND STEVEN SPEILBERG PLESSE
1. Spielberg
2. Tarantino
3. Scorcese

Shouldve included the end shootout for Taxi Driver.. that was such a controversial bloody scene for it's time and was the climax for one of the greatest movies of all time.. the whole movie was leading up to that..
Desert Scene with Theme de Camille in Casino

The Taxi Driver's scene is realy the best.

It is a good list but my favourites are the dialogue in the desert in Casino and the "I wan't you to fucking lay me out" in Raging Bull
Casino, the counting room
Marty had 2 scenes in Taxi driver once in the taxi but also when the lady he likes(cant remember her name) is first introduced and it shows her walking with the white dress you can see Marty in the background checking her out.
