      @@Andytlp For the most part, Chris made sure that he was sober or as sober as possible for his performances. He was a professional and took great pride in his work and was very sensitive about it. But he certainly had his periods of struggle with substance abuse. He was solidly sober during this period.

      @@annimar43 it’s simply unfortunate that it seems as if he never valued his own work, and that he was fully aware of the moments he was the object of the joke and that those were the times people loved him the most. How can you climb out of the personal realization that your own mental conundrum of holding onto self worth, is in direct contradiction of people crying laughing at you making fun of yourself, when that means you’re really attacking the parts of you that are the most insecure? That is the best comedy because it’s the most honest. But if you’re the type of person to self analyze that critically, you can produce the best comedy, but where do you go from there if you’re truly personally damaged going through that thought exercise?

    To this day, Farley's death is the one celebrity's that rocked me the most. It's been 20 years, though, and it still feels like he never left us. Thank God for that.

      Right there with you...it still hurts, it’s honestly kinda weird. I don’t think I’ve ever even thought about a celebrity that has died more than once or twice, but with Farley it still makes me really sad. What a talent, what a guy...
      Some decent documentaries out there about him. He was so complex, in a fascinating and admirable way. Crude as he could be, he had a huge heart (literally & figuratively) and he could make anyone laugh. That’s so unique. Young, old, men, wammens, such a loss...

      E Middlebrooks Farley respected the arena and the politicians in that room (even though he likely disagreed politically).
      The media, late night shows, and SNL are too angry and personal today. It’s just the world we live in at the moment. Things will revert back eventually.
