This amp isn't too bad. I bought the first version of the V20. I took this amp over to my ex-girlfriend's parents's house back in August of last year for her birthday. The amp had a good amount of volume while I played Happy Birthday on my Glarry strat. My ex, and I would jam out to Taylor Swift Songs, and I'd play Bullet for my Valentine on my Glarry strat while it was plugged into the amp. Not bad for an amp. I updated the firmware in October. It sounds okay. Not too bad of an amp. I got my Peavey Vypyr VIP2, and I'd agree that the Peavey amp sounds 10 times better than this little amp. But I'm not going to say that Line 6 is worse than Peavey. It's based off of personal preference. I enjoy Line 6, and Peavey very much! Would I get this amp again? Probably not. I'd probably get the Line 6 Spider Classic 15. Overall, this amp isn't too bad! I miked this amp using my Blue Yetti microphone. Check out the video here if you want to hear what that sounds like! I can say without a doubt that if someone can use a plugin that is well worth it vs this amp. Neural DSP knocks it out of the park with their plugins with high quality models, pedals, effects, and presets for half the cost of this thing. And probably the first time I heard someone using a Glarry, I tend to stay away from unknown brands like that unless I know they are just starting up and have a good track record, and that mic is definitely not meant to mic up an amp, but if that is all you have I understand. I went to the store and showed the guy a recording when you can clearly hear it and he said it night be either the guitar pickups...im taking the guitar amp and cable there to see whats the issue but could be the pickup...cos the neck pickup feels a bit loose and the outer wrapping of it looks like its a bit off...idk im 2 weeks new to this world of the guitar and i dont really get these things yet but im working on it....would love to not have run into technical issues in the beggining but what can you do.

I got this amp a couple days ago and my tone is always too dry or all distortion, anyway to fix?
There is a way, I would take it back and get a plugin from Neural DSP. This amp is not worth the money and Neural has better options with superior sound 👍
@@mcchurch118 Please can you recommend me amp? Is this good amp? I have opportunity for buy it
@@Kritickikonstruktivno if you are decent with computers I would not. Check out Neural DSP plugins. All you need is an interface and those plugins are WAY better than this amp
why do you go thru a computer for your demos instead of just using the amp itself?
I would need to mic it up and at the time I didn't have one. The lapel is not meant for capturing amps so going through the computer allows me to capture the best sound quality of the amp 🤘🔥🔥🤘
Stayed to the end!

Good review.. I wish you would have faded out to backing track a little sooner.
Sure. I did this one at like 11pm and kinda rushed it as well. Hopefully have a new video up this week so stay tuned 🤘

Can I play this in a stadium setting?.....maybe crank it up past 8 or something?
If you route it to the front of the house maybe, but this thing is not worth buying. I recommend looking into Neural DSP plugins. If you want to talk more about it hit me up on twitch.tv/mcchurch118
@@mcchurch118 dude, I was kidding. If I'm playing somewhere large I'm not buying this. I'm looking into a cabinet and Randall head currently. That being said, I own this amp. It's meh. Maybe I don't know all the tricks to it but it's aight.
@@rubar1025 I figured as much, but I always answer comments on here, good/bad/indifferent lol. Randall is a good brand for sure; I don't have space for all that so I'm getting the QC
@@mcchurch118 sorry for posting whilst inebriated lol. Just being stupid. It's a decent amp, I just wish it had more knobs. Too many "push twice for this", "push three times for this"...I miss the old days when I just had a 1x12 Bandit. Dirty and just pedals.
@@rubar1025 no worries 👍That is one reason why I like Neural's plugins cause I can mess with everything and get some pedals and mics as well
I must say that guitar you’re using is sexy.
Thank you! I have my eye on another Schecter but it is still a little pricey at the moment. But thanks for checking out the video! 🤘🔥🔥🤘
I'm torn between this one and a fender champion 20.
The fender so far seems to have slightly better reviews..
All depends on what you are going for and your budget to be honest. There are a lot more options today than there were when I did this video 🤘🔥🔥🤘
how can i connect it to my phone?
You would have to get the app and cable to connect it. Kinda like you would for charging it but it would work as a speaker
I have a schecter c-1 and that amp too lol
Nice! I have to say that my c-1 sounds better in the drop A# going through a Soldano plugin for sure!
@@mcchurch118 I just started yesterday so I don’t think there would be much of a difference in my playing lol but thanks!
@@ajfev1092 I hear ya. IF you get tired of the amp I would highly recommend looking into Neural DSP
I have some problems while recording via this amp. When i crank some gain up (even a little bit) it sounds good from the amp speaker and horrible on recording. The sound is very sandy with a lot of treble and high mids. Maybe you know how to fix it? I would be very grateful)
Same and i am playing black metal but still sound shit even for this genre :D any fixes?
@@metalya8933 i turn off the cab while recording. Then i add Impulse in cubase
Im so dumb 🤦♂️ i didn't realize i needed a computer to access all the features lol 😅 im on day 2 of being a guitar noob
It’s all good, we all start somewhere and there are awesome YT channels to help people out these days than going at it on your own 🤘🔥🔥🤘
This amp isn't too bad. Also, sub to my other channel that's dedicated to guitar!
ua-cam.com/video/kyO1Myq79GA/v-deo.html
I can say without a doubt that if someone can use a plugin that is well worth it vs this amp. Neural DSP knocks it out of the park with their plugins with high quality models, pedals, effects, and presets for half the cost of this thing. And probably the first time I heard someone using a Glarry, I tend to stay away from unknown brands like that unless I know they are just starting up and have a good track record, and that mic is definitely not meant to mic up an amp, but if that is all you have I understand. You gotta make use with what you got 👍

I use big to small jack and that works fine as an output please respond I've got the spider v20 line6 30 watts small to big jack allows foot pedal usage Dave London ❤
With new technology there are more ways to help people record music and it is awesome to hear about new solutions to old problems 🤘🔥🔥🤘
Would the overdrive and the other effects from that amp sound good with an electro acoustic guitar?
Maybe, depends on what style you are playing
How do I connect it to my phone, should I use mini jack 3.5 or micro usb?
What are you trying to do with your phone hooked up to it? Use it as a speaker?
@@mcchurch118 there is an app Spider remote on Android and IOS, it makes dialing with the amp easier

didnt know i could plug into my pc till now...but so far its just a speaker. is there anything else i can do with it plugged in?
probably update the farmwear and use it in a DAW
You will control all your presets, you can download more presets form the cloud to your amp, is going to be much easier to create and tweak your presets as you can reach all the options easily and see icons of all your amps and Fx similar to the real thing they represent (way better than just having a list of them), easier to change the position of the presets or rename them, you can record on you PC using the Spider as an interface, you can play backing tracks from your PC on you Spider while you play it. Well, so many things! For me is a must to plug it into a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile running the Spider Remote App.

@@ivan_talivan But when choosing the setting's on the app, can you play them to your guitar. Like can you use the the more presets and use them and play them with your guitar to see what they sound like, if that makes sense ?
@@veronicarotin6817 Yes, absolutely! That's how you create your tones, what ever you choose you try it out instantly and start tweaking, making adjustments until you get the sound you are looking for. You can make any change on the fly! You just need to save it to recall that tone in the future. Will suggest you to watch other videos of the Spider V where you can see how works the Spider Remote App. Any other question let me know.
What cable did you use to connect the amp to your computer?
I want to say it was a mini USB cable. This amp was a gift so I only had it for a few hours.
I have v240 i hade to buy a OTG cable

Does it have any bass presets?
For a bass guitar? If so then you can use the ones on here but it might be too much gain for it and will over saturate the sound
@@mcchurch118 yeah. My buddy is obsessed with line 6 amps, I'm sick of leaving my fender gtx over there. I was looking for something with some dual usage. I see the peavey vyper looks pretty sick

This video was done in a hurry as I only had a short time to run throw everything and record it. But I agree that the backing tracks are a little too high on this one.
Great review but guys don't buy this amp It sucks.I have one and It's awful.Give some more money and buy a katana and you are finished.Don't waste your money to this one If you want It for rock and metal(not clean) It is very bad.
I agree. The price point may be tempting but unless your options are limited i would not go with this amp. As I said, this was a gift so I didn't go crazy on the price. If you have an interface I would highly recommend Neural DSP, if not then yes save up and get a katana
@@mcchurch118 Thanks!I liked your review and I tried to make my v20 sound better by doing what you did but nothing.I'm buying a katana and I'm done. Also I have the 1st model of the v20 so maybe It isn't improved that's why is sounds bad.Maybe the mk2 is much better I don't know...

I didn't hear one good tone at all? That spider is probably the worst sounding amp ever made! Lol 🤣🤣🤣
Some people like it, some hate it. All depends on perspective 🤘🔥🔥🤘
I know it sounds goofy but the only reason I bought this amp is because it had OLA ENGLUNDS name on the red sticker adhesed to the front 😂...this tiny amp actually has some pretty chunky gain settings for lower tunings like drop D or DROP C🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I just bought one at guitar center a couple days ago...for the 120 dollars you really can't complain because I've spent almost 3oo dollars just for 1 pedal 😂before so for the price point you're getting a amp with a bunch of effects built in... I have several different amps from line 6,, marshall,,orange,, joyo zombie ,,vox,,and they all have a specific purpose depends on what type of music I'm playing at that moment.....I also use different guitars,,, Epiphone Les Paul,, Ibanez's,,music man sterling,, HARLEY Benton,,Jackson's,,🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤷🤷🤷🎸🎸🎸🎸
I bought one of these used. When the preset knob on the far left is turned to different settings the FX lights come on in different variations with each turn of the knob. Also, the volume level is different on each turn of the preset knob, blasting loud on one setting and lower on another, each has a different volume without touching the volume knob. Is all this normal or is there something wrong with the software in the amp?
@@vancvrman604 that is a good question. Honestly I’m not sure with what updates they have made. I know in some custom presets artists will often change the volume/EQ but if it is stock it should not do that
