Totally agree! Include definite articles. Also… it doesn’t seem helpful to spend any time on non-essential words that are exactly the same as English like broccoli and helicopter, for example
It's no use learning words in Dutch without the article. My mother was practically illiterate, but he knew this. She always taught new words in German to me with their respective articles. Ex.: Das Mädchen, Das Pferd, Die Blume, der Wagen, etc.
especially important in dutch because theres no way of knowing if its de or het. its not that big of a deal as a minority use het but its an imporant minority (words like girl of child)
I learned almost all these words, and then I learned the articles for most - it’s true that it would be even better if they included the articles, however even without the articles, one can start by learning the words, and then watch videos with Dutch subs, and one will easily get the articles for most of the words that way, because once one knows the word, it’s way easier to remember the article associated with the word, even if one learns the article later on! Like, het bord, het mes, het besef, de vork, de lepel - I usually group het-woorden together in my mind, so I can easily remember them, and most animals are de-woorden, and some are het-woorden such as het paard, and most words in general are de-woorden! Also, diminutives are always het-woorden and plurals (even the plurals for diminutives) are always de-woorden (even though they should have a different article for plurals, TBH) so, if one isn’t sure about a word, one can use it as a diminutive with the article het - it’s a good trick for beginners that want to start using nouns, even though they don’t know the article for each noun yet!
I love how random it is.... - Hoeveel heeft u nodig, meneer? - *Oh crap, I need 23, and I only learned that one number watching the UA-cam video...* 1:40:48
This is good, thanks a lot! But some things, 1. the article is important, 2. also know if it´s a verb or a noun (ex, park), 3. some words are repeated.
Exciting ≠ Boeiend, a way better translation for “exciting” would be “opwindend”(though this is often use for as a hint for something exciting in bed). We’d normally say something like “Ik verheug me erop” when we want to say “I’m excited”. “(is) boeiend” translates better as “matters” or “interesting”. “Boeiend”/“Boeie” is often used on its own and is used sarcastically, it basically means “Who cares?”. Also I want to add that the pronunciation of some of the words sounds quite odd to me
Do you know of any more reliable source to learn words with pronounciation? I'm trying to learn some vocab with proper pronounciation, but it doesn't seem like there are that many great free sources, this one being the vest I could find and it looks like it's still not perfect.
Opwindend? As boeiend would be more of a translation for interesting or "who cares?" Opwindend has a sexual connotation. Spannend would ne the way to go I'd say
This is a good list but there are some odd inclusions; Mixed Martial Arts, Cricket, and Boutique hardly seem like "must know" words or at least not in the top 2000
I memorized almost all the words in this video, plus a lot more words from other videos, so I am now close to an advanced level in Dutch - I played it on maximum speed multiple times - and, I also memorized most words in the Norwegian / French / Swedish videos and some of the words in the German / Italian videos with 2.000 words!
thank you (but feeback: It would be great without the country and the city name : those are a waste of time). Please makes one with the most important verb, adjectives and noun.
Try bookmarking the video and intensively memorizing just a little bit per day. (Like 1 minute worth of words at a time, or however much you think you can handle) and write down the timestamp you stopped for when you want to move on. That's what I'm planning on anyway. Just takes time right 👍

Ye it a actually good to learn all words so when people are saying things you will be able to know them but in this video there are some words that arent correct in dutch but it good video to learn the important words 😊
Why not sound out the words? Not just say fast for beginners! Know it's your normal but look at first 5 words here! What did you say? Won't watch the rest

Hi, This is very helpful. But I think it would be nice if you will include whether the word is de or het word :)
Totally agree! Include definite articles. Also… it doesn’t seem helpful to spend any time on non-essential words that are exactly the same as English like broccoli and helicopter, for example
Ja klopt
Amsterdam is a great word in Dutch thank you, will definetely include it in my vocab

Yeah..
Well, Dutch have rules for it in most cases so isn't so necessary. I am just A2 level and I knew the article for most of the words.
brasileiro?

They haven't ordered properly. How Antarctica word will help me in daily convo ?
You mean you don't want to learn 'silk' before learning 'she', or 'mixed martial arts' before 'to be'? Where are your priorities? lol

What is going on for the word "Rash" uitslag? 47:40 anyone know what is said here?
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you a lot. Dankjewel! Will be looking forward to 5000 most common words ;)
i love this video,i just
dont understand why the numbers, days of the weeks, animals, fruit etc are not in groups and said ramdomly
Because in real life, you will encounter then randomly. Nobody is going to speak a sentence to you by categorising animals, days etc.

@@mischake im dutch. boeiend is used for who cares. but it actually means interesting.exciting means opwindend
Really! The second word is "seat belt"

this could be useful but without "het" or "de" it doesnt make much sense to learn
What made you think this video would be sufficient without the articles (de/het)?
Thank you
iThank you for the usefull education,
