@Dave M - In countries where the technology is not much advanced and the people are poor they use wooden moulds to make the bricks to build their houses. They use cement and sand in the ratio of 1:4 for making solid bricks without holes in the centre. In Srilanka we made roughly 64 bricks by using a 50kg bag of cement in the 1990 when the cost of a cement bag was approximately one US$ . The size of the bricks were 12 x 6 x 5 inches. Though we could have bought ready made bricks, we didn’t like the quality of strength and finish ! Nowadays the price of a bag of cement weighing 50kg is about 80 US$ and the sand is very high.

I keep watching all these videos about compressed earth blocks the machines are pretty expensive. But I have a wood splitter I was wondering if you might make a video where you turn the wood splitter into a compressed blockmaker to make these blocks of 10% cement or 20% whatever your fancy but it’s pretty great you can use the dirt around the job site most likely unless it has levels too high too low of sand.. I think a lot of people would watch the video
bruh, this cement shit is falling apart on video, with so many cracks in the brick I wouldn't recommend anyone to build a structure they want to live in, god knows how long it will stand until it crumbles on your head. Best advice if anyone still wants to do this bs is to get quality materials and not expired cement. Totally agree that this doesn't worth your time and sweat for the result you get.
Not bad! But will it work as well as new after 50 cycles? I'm afraid wood isn't a good material for making concrete blocks. It adsorbs moisture and quickly changes its dimensions. And I guess very soon cement particles and remains will cover every side of the inner forms.
I used to build these back in Jamaica . I had the 2 piece hand mold made from steel. We used to compete to see who can make the most blocks in 8 hrs . One day , I made 104 in 8 hrs !.The guys nicknamed me ' King of the blocks . It was back breaking work , but we made light of it & had fun 😅😅
This is the kind of nut that depresses his family with endless failed projects. Fiddling while Rome burns. Slag blocks are cheaper than your time and wonderful quality compared to ole timey 'cinder blocks'.
Cider blocks 8 x 8 x 16 are $1 a piece and are larger so it takes less of them to build more wall . I don't see going to all of that trouble to save $4 , since six of those likely wouldn't cover what 4 cinder blocks would .
Good thing your labor is cheap because it takes longer to make a few good blocks this way than buying them and actually building something! Not even a good use for old pallet wood….
I don't get it you would never be able to build anything structural from these because because there are no structural characteristics to work from. To be honest they look pretty fragile.
The holes need to line up when you stack them so that you can add vertical rebar to reinforce the wall. That's why concrete blocks have 2 holes instead of 3.
I do like but even in the uk bricks or blocks are cheap enough to make diy redundant. Maybe if you cast bigger blocks length and width youd be onto something then. Double breasted block a meter in length would help the average diy person. less bricks ,less chance of a wonky wall
I need 500 of them can you have them by tomorrow ,LMAO!!! Other than that nice work for a few blocks that might be needed cheaper to buy in my eyes.. I get it you make money from the views and ads with this mostly impractical for most of us ways of making things..

Because home depot isnt right up the road and thats the way its been done for thousands of years on buildings that are still standing and they didn't have home depot then either
Now I know why the buildings collapsed in Turkey when the earth quack hit - for these to be useful and strong, the force of compaction needs to be in the thousands of lbs per square inch - otherwise, as you can see they are/will crack and break - no strength - please, if you want to make a mouse house with these, don't - the mice will get buried under them

Nike Flops ? For What ? For what ? So you are those persons that with out a brand are nothing ? 🤔🤔🤤🤤
Very nice! Roundover the center blocks to give extras strength at corners.
Oil the wood it will allow the cement to not stick . also make a top plate to tamp on to pack the cement.
Best tip ever
EXCELLENT ADDITION!
I use Silicon Spray, but oil is probably less expensive. Thnx
What the consistency I should us to mix the cement and sand to make pavement bricks
But if theres any residue left on the blocks, you wont be able to get a render coat to stick to them.... I'd prefer to paint them myself... 🤔
GOOD JOB👌🏅
I could build a house with how long it's taken to make these 5 blocks

oil the wood. it will keep bricks from sticking to the wood
30 mins later, 20-30% failure rate! 🎉
I can't see how this is a good system unless your labor cost or time spent is disregarded vs purchasing bricks.

Mil grasias
First, like on your video , and great job, my man keep going greeting from the USA
Excellent video highlighting cement art 💯💯
Very nice & practical .....by the way the block design probably an innovation coz some designs have both depressed ends!
Isso é muito engenhoso mesmo, parabéns amigo!😱👏👏👌
Great video. But the mix looks pretty dry and loose. I wonder how it sticks.
I would like t see how hard the blocks are when fully dry. seems to me that the mix should be much wetter
The wetter the mix the weaker block. Hence the dry mix
Needs more aggregate
Some explanation of the mixture and quantity would be valuable.
