That’s such a smart technique both for moms and in general. Distracting and hopefully comforting or rewarding/enjoyable activity like a coping skill or the bribe of snacks or quiet game with the kids (like coloring or something lol)

(coming from an almost graduated cosmetology student:) Your mom actually did a really great job!! Her parting was spot on, and her directing while cutting the framing pieces was perfect! The only major concern is that she lost her guideline when she first started cutting so you may have a few layers with varying lengths but otherwise she did awesome!!

I literally screamed "TY MAMA MAPLES!!!" when she told Mia to sit up and stop slouching 🤣 for a good 2 minutes before that I kept yelling at the screen for Mia to sit up straight so her hair isn't uneven lol

This might be dumb, but I feel so happy when I watch you interact with your family. I had a really hard childhood without a stable family and to watch how much you and your parents and siblings love eachother and know eachother so well, it makes my heart grow three sizes. I know that not everything is perfect but to see real love in a family gives me hope. I love your videos, but these kinds are my absolute fav! When your family picked your outfits that was the ABSOLUTE best.

I’m a hairdresser, your mom did great! She did a lot of techniques that we use all the time. A lot of fine hair isn’t easy. Gets tangly. You have beautiful hair but I totally vote for a short straight bob

I wanna say Mia, I’m a licensed cosmetologist. Your hair will both style better (hold curl) and brush easier if you chop off most your length. The snarls and lack of holding style comes from being weak hair strands. It’ll grow back a lot fuller and nicer too.
